US Politics

Lets see if we can keep this thread a little more civil.

I found this interview very interesting.  A lot of soft balls thrown at Trump, he explained his back pedalling on his more extreme issues as a lot of his claims as opening bids for negotiation purposes.  Which .. whatever .. I still think that those are insincere claims he used to get elected.

He does now come across way more presidential then he did prior to the election.  A lot of his noise, yelling, and rhetoric has been scaled back.

Do respect this one though:

Quote

Lesley Stahl: Are you gonna take the salary, the president’s salary?

Donald Trump: Well, I’ve never commented on this, but the answer is no. I think I have to by law take $1, so I’ll take $1 a year. But it’s a -- I don’t even know what it is.

Donald Trump: Do you know what the salary is?

Lesley Stahl: $400,000 you’re giving up.

Donald Trump: No, I’m not gonna take the salary. I’m not taking it.

Wow... so much fear mongering and racism.

And of course, the natural evolution from MAGA is 'yes' MASA, ******* racists.

well they were targeting democrats and jews, those can hardly be called people.

You would think, based on the rhetoric, that the "caravan's" arrival was imminent. However, it's still over a 1000 miles away and it will be weeks before they arrive at the US border.

Fear mongering.

He's creating a narrative for the election that potential immigrants through the Mexican border are so violent and such a risk, it requires a armed response reserved for wars.  Its absolutely ridiculous.  But also very transparent.

It will make his racist, ignorant base stand up and cheer but Im not so sure it moves the fence sitters.  But I think the idea is not to gain votes, its to mobilize the base to actually vote.  The Dems have the same issue in convincing people to actually vote.  Whomever gets their supporters out the best will win.

Fox commentators also mention all the dreaded diseases the caravan is carrying.......

Jews are funding it too. That's straight from Agent Orange.

I like when they talk about diseases that have been eradicated.  Colbert did a hilarious bit about it.  Im surprised Trump hasnt accused them all of having AIDS yet.

And that is absolutely terrifying. Beyond sickening.

Are you all ready for this incredible right wing scheme to discredit the Special Counsel?

I bet Robert Mueller is shaking in his boots.

hahaha these poor bastards.  Apparently, their "accuser" chickened out at the last minute.  Also, they hosted the presser with their flies down the entire time.  hahaha

Oh and odd, FOX News didnt cover it.

They are due for some unwanted attention from Mueller, and the FBI.   Following the money trail on this particular endeavor, could be quite interesting, as well

The good news is the military commanders will just ignore this buffoon. Can you imagine if he ordered the military to shoot into a crowd of people throwing rocks?  He’s insane.

The more he talks, the more likely it is the Democrats will have success.

He actually seems to be unravelling some more. if there's anything left to unravel.

So far, there doesn't seem to be any legal problem for an American on the American side of the border, shooting and killing someone on the Mexican side of the border.

If Americans are not embarrassed by this lying fool then I don't know what to tell you, at some point you have to say enough, I'm really surprised he can tie his own shoes with the way he acts, a child has more sensibility, they lie about the same though.

Don't look for logic, the caravan is currently the most convenient threat Trump can use to make a statement about immigration and his disdain for immigrants prior mid-term elections.  It's just a wink and a nod to "old stock Americans".

"These illegal caravans will not be allowed into the United States and they should turn back now," Trump said. "We are stopping people at the border. This is an invasion."

Trump's people do fear, they don't do numbers.

3500 refugees 1000 miles away might as well be the entire host of Genghis Villa pressing up against the gates of Nogales, their catapults bombarding Phoenix with dynamite and the corpses of pestilent cattle.

Cuomo on CNN had a couple of Republicans on last night.  I only caught part of it.  One of them, representing "Women for Trump" argued that Trump was totally right to say he wants soldiers to shoot people throwing rocks because "David threw rocks at Goliath".

interesting. I agree with this comment at that article.

"why is (he) using the Old Testament, aka the Hebrew Bible, to try to justify its "holy war" against "Marxists and Islamists"?  Because there's no support for it based on the words of Christ alone, that's why. "

Um, which is David and which is Goliath? Does the white majority that controls government and the economy actually see themselves as "David"?

Its all a smokescreen for their inherent racism.  Watching the woman get so angry with Cuomo was both hilarious and chilling.

Trump and his puppet masters are preparing the base for a domestic war.  Right now, the idea is of immigrant invaders.  But maybe in 2020 it will be "Dems who stole the White House".  People will die and the blood will be on the hands of Trump and his GOP supporters.

And Trump will be off to sell another investment project, that will ultimately go bankrupt,  parachuting in every so often to stir the pot.
