  1. If Nichols year is over (I'm betting that even if he comes back he won't be the same), we need to beg either Glenn or Ray to come back. Those 2 are the only legit VET options.
  2. I heard Deiter Brock on the radio recently (out here in SK) and he said he wasn't doing anything...SO...if he can still throw a football even 40 yards from his knees...heh, that's good enough for me!!
  3. Yes. Without a legit #1 QB Montreal wasn't going anywhere. Vernon Adams has been the most hyped ( for potential) in the CFL (except for Manziel) the last 3 years. It looks like he is starting to find his groove. Good for Montreal and for Khari. Also shows that QB's in this league need time to develop!!!
  4. Calgary IS STILL the team to beat. Until I see Dickenson shaking hands with the winning coach in the playoffs or (unlikely) Calgary misses the playoffs, I still say Calgary is on top of the mountain. They will be a better team when BLM comes back.
  5. I'm thinking we get a couple of big returns out of our return guys...not saying TD's, but a couple of big yardage returns.
  6. Yes it was close at the half. We've got the better team. We:re playing at home. They're playing on a shorter week....still...I hope we don't flub this one and take them lightly. Reilly is getting more time to throw. And we haven't exactly been lighting it up the last 3 games. I'd like to see Nichols open up the passing attack and the offense score early and often.
  7. Do I get to fly my Saskatchewan flag? okay...I'll see myself out now
  8. No they are not. I suspect even if stay-the-course O'Shea wants to keep Nichols in the off-season Mr. Walters might have a different idea.
  9. Someday we won't have Nichols either. In fact, I'm betting that in the last 50 years or so the average # of years for a starting QB is probably pretty low. Brock was here the most - about 8 years. Clements about 4, Dunigan maybe 3, Khari and Glenn about the same. So unless we win the Grey Cup this year, my educated guess is that next year we move with someone else.
  10. Agreed. Seems like our blitz ranks near the bottom of the league in terms of effectiveness.
  11. Okay, back on topic. B.C. looks to be getting back on track with their offense...but their defense still sucks. I'm a lot more concerned about this game than I would have if it was played a few weeks ago. The dink n dunk system of Nichols may need to be upgraded (we need to score more).
  12. Then next thing we'll hear is that he committed suicide...
  13. That was the worst missed call of the year. I'm expecting the league will come out on Monday and say,"Uh, sorry, we missed that call." And of course we will hear nothing about or if the refs were disciplined.
  14. Don't look now, but Mike Reilly and the B.C. Lions might be back in the running. It looks like they will not be the free stop on the Bingo card anymore. The Bombers better bring their A game next Thursday and play 4 quarters.
  15. In some sense it might be a "must-win" game for Nichols. If he poops the bed and the boo birds come out...it could take him 5-6 games to rebound...and by that time our chance at 1st place may be gonzo
  16. Nah. I think Nichols biggest problem is his vision. He doesn't "see the field" as some of the great QBs like BLM, Calvillo, and Clements did. It's weird to say it but having Andrew Harris has been both a blessing and a curse for Nichols. A blessing because he's such a great check-down guy, but a curse in the sense that Nichols has never really learned to find his receivers as much as he should - he relies on Harris to be there for him.
  17. We must finish 1st in the west to have any realistic shot of getting to the Grey Cup. After 5 games i liked our chances. Now...well...this team will have to play better just to make the playoffs...
  18. I'm not sure Streveler is the answer, but what we have between him and our #3 might be. Honestly, Strev can hand the ball off just as well and can extend the play too. I'll take my chances on his passing.
  19. I'm ready to move on without Nichols. If not now, then after the season. Let's see what Streveler and our 3rd stringer can do. We know they can hand the ball off to Harris, so if they can pass for 200 - 300 yards a game, it's good enough.
  20. How come I can only "like" this post once? It deserves about 20 "likes".
