  1. Agreed. Harris would have won it had he been healthy...but Harris' yards haven't translated to many points..or wins.
  2. That's crazy!! I think even I could have hit 40% ( as long as the kicks were from 15 yards or closer).
  3. You sure you didn't want to give the Riders all the awards???
  4. I hope your right.
  5. I believe Jonas got traded in 1974 when Brock arrived so he wouldn't held for him.
  6. I know Danny White was the kicker for the Cowboys many years ago (he later became the starting QB).
  7. Okay, I got another question. Why couldn't the Bombers list their back-up running back as the 3rd QB (besides Collaros and McGuire) and then list Streveler as a running back? It would only be an issue if we had an injury, but otherwise it might work. Am I correct??
  8. Things were a lot different back then. And honestly, sports personnel weren't held up so much as the idols they are today. (No, I don't speak from personal experience).
  9. Most reasonable people on this board (that excludes some), just want to win -stats are secondary to us. Nichols was a winner - he wasn't flashy, but he often got the job done. He was the best option we had at the time. Collaros' stats weren't flashy, but we need to remember he hasn't played a whole game in about a season and a half...and he had only 2-3 practices where he ran our offense. He likely has a higher ceiling than Nichols (i.e. makes some plays out of nothing). Let's hope he stays healthy for 3 playoff games!
  10. If O Shea moved on I wonder if they'd reach out to Mike Riley...he's an offensive coordinator in the XFL (in their upcoming season, so they'd have to pry him away before the season starts). It would be worth the price of a phone call anyways...
  11. He hopes to play for 5 more years...
  12. Yes... Every win is on the players. Every loss is on them too Just saying...
  13. Yes. Patrick Mahones wasn't available.
  14. Medlock Collaros Our defense in the 4th quarter
  15. But why then, is he commenting on this thread?
  16. Haven't won the big draw yet, eh?
  17. I don't believe he was. Read his point in context.
  18. Shame on Milt for not being perfect... On a related note I remember when he signed and gave my 3 year old his playing gloves (I later stole those gloves from my 3 year old).
  19. Yeah, well those Bomber teams from around '88 to '91 had a great defense. In fact the Bombers MAY have had the best defense of all time in the CFL during those years (our offense sucked between the Clements and Dunigan years, but we still managed 2 Grey Cups). That's why I am so sad about this year. Our defense is good, our offense has some good players...weakness is at QB and with Nichols going down it is even weaker. Maybe we can still pull it off...
  20. Agree with the above. Fajardo and Evans are having good years.
  21. Interesting comment. Macadoo was nearly run out of town last year. Rider fans, seemingly in unison, blamed him for the offense's woes. This year not so much. I wonder what changed?!?!
  22. From Jan 18th, 2017 (Matt Nichols contract extension): Financial details weren’t immediately available but Nichols will reportedly earn between $400,00 and $450,000 over the course of the deal. With Nichols under centre, Winnipeg posted an 11-7 record to finish third in the West Division. The former Eastern Washington star was 10-3 as the Bombers’ starter and recorded career highs in passing yards (3,666), TDs (18), attempts (471) and completions (327) with just nine interceptions. (From AP services) Nowhere did I say Fajardo was as good as Nichols (time will tell). But their situations are somewhat similar as Nichols came into the 'Peg and won some games and then signed a big contract.
  23. I seem to remember the Bombers giving Nichols similar $$'s for a similar amount of work...so a fair signing.
  24. Yes, I like a lot of things O Shea does (he respects his players etc), but on other issues (injuries) he is downright strange!! A guy can be healthy many, many weeks and yet sit on the injury list and yet a player like Streveler or Harris can be lying on the turf with one arm torn off and it's "he's good to go back in!" I don't get it.
  25. Hmmm. I'm not a Chris hater but I do not think he gives us the best chance in the playoffs.... doesn't matter what I think though, O Shea will do or die with him. (I do think O Shea should rest Streveler on Friday).
