I was referring to the PI call on Hollins at the 57:10 mark of this video:
    Awful, awful call.
You can also clearly see Harris' elbow going down ahead of the goal line at the 1:55:30 mark.
The refs have been VERY friendly toward the Bombers this year, sorry to break it to ya folks.

Just keeping things as objective as possible on this forum.

Then why didn't the Command Center reverse the call? Oh, yeah... Because the evidence was not conclusive.
And to suggest the officials have been "very friendly" towards the Bombers is patently false. Like every other team in the league, they've had chintzy calls and weird calls go for and against them. The officiating has been horrible in pretty much every single game.

It's not an opinion, it's pretty damn clear. The command centre was too pansy to overturn the call.

Wow. I didn't even think of that.

So what you are saying is that the last time a WBB HC named Mike who had some type of connection to the number 7 (Mike Riley hired by the WBB in 1987...WTF) and who was successful was in fact none other than Mike Riley himself?

So you think perhaps he is the reason for the curse on the team?

    That actually makes sense.

In a world where the name Mike and the number 7 have been proven to be the fundamental lynchpins of the WBB's overall inherent Suckiness, then it makes sense that Mike Riley in fact started the curse so as to never ever be overshadowed by anyone. Especially anyone else in the world named Mike.

    Buddy, you nailed it.

    Cheers

yeah, I don't think it's a super tough decision between 2014 Durant and 2014 Willy. On one hand, you've got a proven championship-calibre QB who can do some things better than any other CFL QB, who has never suffered a serious injury, and who should have a number of years left on his odometer. On the other hand you've got a promising guy who has won a couple games and looked decent doing it.

but they didn"t let him walk. They traded us his rights before free agency for jade ettienne. Getting something for a player before losing them to free agency is actually the exact opposite of letting him walk.

A lot of people in Edmonton have the same opinion of Nichols and Franklin as we do of Brohm and Marve.

Statistics don't tell the full story.   Sometimes you use other advanced evaluation tools..... like the right and left eyeball.

I "see", so far that.....we don't move the ball, when Brohm is in, too many turnovers, and the other players on O look somewhat uninspired.
Also "see....." that Marve actually moves the ball, somewhat....although not in the classic fashion, his style provides a change up.... and Mave does appear to give our other players a bit of a lift..

This "trend" started last year, and continued through the x-season.

That said....Mavre is a walking impro act, at this point, runs at the drop of a hat, and rarely sets his feet to make a throw.   This is why he is a "future" guy, requiring grooming.
Brohm, on the other hand, is a 7 year pro.  Also factoring in his age......he has to be a "now" guy.....or there is no real point to keeping him around.

Up till "now".....Brohm has not gotten it done.

If this changes, more power to him, and the coaching staff, who clearly believe in him....

If not, the tipping point should come sooner, than later

Please tell us that you went back and re-watched the two games that Marve participated in last year and that you're not just staring blankly at a sheet of numbers?  The reality is that Marve "out performed" both Willy and Brohm in those games in that he made positive things happen, moved the ball, caused no turn-overs and was able to score points when the others could not.

This does not mean that he is necessarily a better QB than either Willy or Brohm but under Marcel's scripted system they were not finding a way to win those games and their health was being put in serious jeopardy by sitting in a poorly protected pocket.  The object of the game is to find a way to win, not just conform to a failing model that perpetuates losses.  Remember at the time of Marve's appearances the Bombers were mired in a half season losing skid which he ended.  Sometimes you just have to break the mold and start fresh.

Brohm is a one-dimensional quarterback who is weak, inaccurate and immobile. You can look at those stats all you want but they don't tell the whole story. Marve played in very unusual situations last year, which makes it tough to draw conclusions from those numbers. As I've mentioned, Marve was able to move the ball just as effectively, if not more effectively than his peers in both of his regular season appearances, which is ultimately what matters. Marve has also looked much better than Brohm in preseason as well as in practice.

Ultimately, Marve has had too few reps to know exactly what he's all about but it is very very very likely that he's a better option than Brohm at this point, who simply does not belong on a professional football field.

Brohm has been at the helm for about 140 minutes of regular season play already, that's more than the equivalent of two full games. In that time, he's thrown 5 interceptions, 0 TDs, and has lost a fumble, with an abysmal passer rating of 53.8. Meanwhile, Marve has not committed a single turnover in 53 minutes of regular season play, and has shown to be capable of moving the ball effectively.

The job of a backup is to be able to step up in relief of an injured or underperforming  QB, so what's the use in having a QB who can't do his job?? Might as well play Davis if Marve is injured. Brohm has not once earned the primary backup position, going all the way back to last year's training camp when he was pretty much neck-and-neck with Max Hall. I have a difficult time thinking about his position on this team as anything but a classic case of cronyism.

Its that the coaching staff appears to have both anointed and sustained Brohm as the #2...despite him accomplishing next to nothing, as a Bomber......that has some of our teeth on edge.   Not some pseudo conspiracy....

just got back from practice....  Marve got limited reps, was wearing a knee brace, but I wouldn't say hobbling.  In the second set of reps, he was tossing bullets on the money in stride.  The last set of reps they ran, of course, MB runs 3 running plays with Marve in.

Brohm.... knocked down at the line a couple of times, missed and looked off Adams a couple times when he was wide open looking for Denmark, and under threw several times.  He had one nice toss, on a very slow developing play, that I'm sure wouldn't have been nearly as nice in a game cause he woulda got hit.

You can see the difference immediately when they go from Willy to Brohm... Willy gets it out right away and is on the money, Brohm is so slow to go through his reads, and then tosses muffins.   Brohm had one nice little dump pass where he actually hit Marshall in stride, and after O'Shea was running up giving him five and encouraging him.....

I don't know!?  I went to go see what it is the coaching staff sees in Brohm, in practice, and it doesn't make a damn bit of sense why he's #2.   Willy left with 5 minutes left to go in practice, but I'm sure that's just mind games... he looked alright.

Moore didn't participate in drills, nor did Turner.  Lirim only punted, no FG's.

I don't understand the Marve hate around here.  Some folks want him to fail just to shut up the folks who want him to succeed.

We're not talking Marve vs Willy here.  We're talking Marve vs Brohm!  Think about that for a second.  Let it sink in.  Marve vs Brohm. Marve, a 50% passer with an 85.4 rating vs Brohm a 64% passer with a 53.8 rating because he's thrown 5 Ints and no TDs.

If we had Tate or Harris then no Marve for sure, but we don't have them.  We have Brohm.

Brohm was doing the same. I doubt that there was a significant difference in the level of competition between the two.

I honestly don't know what they see in Brohm, i really don't... he throws balls in to double coverage always, can they not see that on the film? He one hops passes to guys? can they not see that on the film? He sucks the life out of the team when he comes in to the game, I just honestly don't really get what they see in him, yeah i get that he "knows the system" but if skipping passes and throwing picks and throwing in to double coverage is knowing the system, maybe it's not only time for Brohm to go away, maybe it's time for a new system.

It's gonna get ugly thursday at IGF if brohm starts and struggles. It's gonna get real ugly and honestly, instead of risking a worse injury to Willy, he should sit this week, don't risk it, it's just one game... let him sit, rest up... if this was a long week i'd probably say let him play but it's a short one, a real short one, 1 practice b4 the game... it's not enough and man could you imagine if Willy plays and is injured even worse? The season is done then pretty much.

If i were them, START BRohm and see what happens... hopefully it gets so bad that they are forced to put in Marve,  although honestly, I bet brohm would have to throw 5 or 6 picks b4 that happens.

I hope Brohm does well but.. i know better than that really... he's gonna suck if he starts and suck real bad too. The vultures and boo birds will be out and for the first time in a long long time, I'll actually agree with the boo birds, I never really think it's cool to boo your team but... if brohm starts and struggles and isn't pulled, yup... boo away people, boo like you've never boo'd b4.
