I think it's possible that with the amount of oline prospects in this draft that you could see a run on non oline players in the first round leaving some there at 11 and or 15.

I think the smart bet would be to call them the Jets or something similar to it at least just so you don't have to change the logos in the building around so much, don't know if that's an issue but... if it is, then the smart thing to do would be to call them the Manitoba Jets or something similar, Winnipeg Arrows? Wow. Jets are friggen snakebit. Has any team lost as many man-games to injuries as the Jets? Yes like 14 more teams including the ducks who have lost the most man games due to injuries. Jets are middle of the pack in terms of man games lost, the only "significant injury" really has been to perreault, the rest were, to be honest, somewhat short term injuries, just they all seem to happen around the same time.

Myers and Buff both possible for tomorrow, Postma done for the season it sounds like with a significant lower body injury? Broken leg? What happened to him, thought he played quite well and to be honest, when he was on the powerplay, thought we actually looked much better than normal. It's been said before but tomorrow really is a huge game for us, win and basically can eliminate the sharks really. Play like we did vs Tampa and this team will be tough to beat their remaining games. That's how we need to play to win, it's nice to see that they got back to playing that strong defensively smart hockey, I hope it lasts and if it does, this team may surprise some people if they get to the playoffs.

Perhaps the oddest part about this whole durant/demski debate or who take at 2 debate is, Ottawa picks 1st. Wouldn't they have a need for Durant? If they take Durant, I'm going to assume that they probably will, then who do we take? I've seen some mock drafts where it has Ottawa taking Alex Mateas with their first pick but... with trading their pick last year to calgary, is center really a big concern for them? He don't build it tho and unless anyone has seen the blue prints maybe the real issue is the builder actually never followed the architects plans. So easy to blame an architect but all they do is design it. Drainage might be a design flaw sure but the rest are builder issues. Big time builder issues. From the sounds of things we are going 3 Canadians on the online and those 3 will be Picard greaves and one of goossen or Neufeld with the other backing up. That's our 4 Canadian OL on the roster. If we take OL at 2 he's ir'd more than likely. Also sounds like none of them project to be tackles

Demski won't be there at 15. If you want him take him at 2. OL in at 11 and later. 15 I'd take best avail dl or lb. The OL guy probably won't play this year either

LA lost so we are 2nd in the wild card standings. Big win. Played very well against a good Tampa team. Team showed heart and fight.

Varga will be in the NFL for a while if not for his career, I'd pass on Varga. Demski or Durant at 2, I'm thinking Ottawa might take a receiver tho.. I'd go Demski at 2, OL at 11 and later and a positonal player like DL or LB at 15. Don't need to get 2 OL's at 11 and 15, Could get a project OL later in the draft, like a quinn everett type.

Younger guys who will get better over time, You don't build your team around almost and soon to be 30 year olds. NHL is a young mans game. Would i trade Buff? If he balks at signing an extension in the summer, you damn rights. Would i trade Ladd? same thing, damn rights if he didn't agree to an extension this summer. The reality with the Jets is, they are building through their youth, Some people have this idea that guys like Ladd Buff etc will be around forever, they won't be tho, It's guys like Scheif, Trouba, Myers now, Petan,Ehlers, Morrissey, this is the future of the Jets. You can't lose Ladd and Buff for nothing, Their value will never be higher than it is this summer. Yeah i'd trade them because even with Buff and Ladd in the lineup, we are at best a bubble team. You trade them and you get some decent young pieces for them and we are actually closer to being more than just a bubble team. I don't think losing ladd and buff would be the end of the world considering what you'd probably get in return for them. Jets aren't and never will be a cap team, Johnny Boychuk with the NYI just signed a 7 year deal worth 42 million, Buff will want more guaranteed. Signing buff to a long term contract is suicide for a team who will never spend to the cap. Trouba,Myers are 2 young RHD, Buff doesn't really fit in that age group and we'd get a big haul for him. Yeah i'd trade him cuz reality is, we aren't winning the cup anytime soon and when we do (if we do), Buff won't be around to see it. Trade him while his value is high.
