Pretty much agree with the above. Only 1 sack for Ottawa tonight so Nichols had time. He just wasn't good at all. Turning point for me was the first O series. Big special teams play to recover a fumble. 3rd and 1. Handoff in the pouring rain. Stuffed. The MB special.

Lol. Blaming Hurl when the O did nothing yet again for 3.5 quarters is maddening. The OC is the problem. Hurl is the least of our concerns really. The D stepped up at half. Ottawa had Damn near 22 minutes on O in the first half... not just cuz our D couldn't stop them but also because our O did **** all... going after Hurl is just ridiculous in a game where the final score could have been a lot worse. Yup it'd Hurl. 2 100 yard receivers... 5 turnovers. ... Nichols sucking...but Hurl is the problem

I'd rather Petan play with the Jets and only get 7 8 minutes a night than play on the dumpster fire that is the Moose... He wouldn't help them, the Moose are not lacking forward talent, they are lacking the D talent to get them the puck, outside of Morrissey (rookie),Kostalek (rookie) and Harrison (yeah Jay Harrison) they have nothing and they lack the veteran presence at forward also... BIG TIME. mistake not signing Jaffray as he brings a very calming veteran presence.. Moose lack the Vets and the ones they do have.. Hali,Fraser, those types of guys have apparently been awful. Perhaps the coach is part of the issue as well, they are supposed to be the Jets developmental team but... they don't play anything like the Jets. That's a problem.

I think part of the problem is the Pressure on McDavid, not from the Oilers or even the Fans in Edmonton but from the media, Sportsnet,TSN... man the guy can't take a piss without TSN or Sportsnet saying he just took a piss, It's insane the amount of pressure that is on that kid, he's a very good player and will be a very good player but... the media pressure put on him can't be helping, let the kid play for christs sake... The other issue they have and this isn't one that can get better overnight, It's their D play, they just aren't a strong defensive team, people can say what they want but Sekera is an upgrade for sure but... how much of one remains to be seen. It's still way too early here but... Edmonton probably has a little ways to go until they are playoff contender, it probably won't happen this year, they will probably have to move one of their wingers eventually for some much needed legit #1 D help.. Until then, it is what it is... I like the Oilers, second favorite Canadian Team behind the Jets, but they still got a ways to go.
