It's a 9 team league. It's not a 32 team league. The worst team last year could be one of the better ones this year

Nichols had a decent year in a system he fits in where he doesn't have to really be the man exactly. He just needed to MANage games here. I'm not sure Matt Nichols would have the same success elsewhere and I'm not even 100 percent convinced that he will have the same success here next year. We weren't really winning games because of Matt Nichols and the O. It was more D and special teams (Medlock )

It's retroactive to Jan 7th tho so it means very little. Melchiori being called up is more interesting in my opinion.... not because he's good but because that probably means Chiarot is injured or sick or benched.

Probably be Kompon if Maurice is canned. Doubt he will be mid season but a couple more stinkers like last game could change things. Honestly tho when Noel was fired... Maurice was kind of an out of left field hire.... meaning didn't see Maurice coming in. I doubt Maurice is fired mid season tho unless things really do go bad the next several games.

Did you see Chiarot get trapped in the jets d zone... ice the puck and then scheif lose the draw and all 3 jets go to the corner and leave the Montreal player all alone in front 5 feet from the net on the 3rd goal? Or how about our D zone play the entire game.... or lack there of.. or our forwards not hustling back.. our D making terrible pinches all game long? Did you hear your buddy Paul Maurice say the entire team played like horseshit? Or did you see him rip his team a new ass in the 2nd... cuz coaches do that when teams are just playing so well... did you see their 2 pp shots all game on 4 PP or their 2 shots all 2nd period?

He's a good coach for a veteran heavy team. He's not for a team built around speed and youth. People want to talk about the whole vet thing.... well... PP unit 1. There you go. Full of struggling vets

You want Enstrom to babysit Buff? Lol Enstrom has been our worst d man this year besides Chiarot and Postma. Buff isn't a problem.... he's one of the top 10 offensive d men in the league. .. I feel people who **** on buff... I don't know what you think he is... he's not some defensive d man... never has been... he's an offensive one... always has been. He's a leader. He's playing lots because the coaches play him lots. It's actually getting ridiculous. Some people want to blame everyone but the coaches

I want someone to tell me why coaching isn't a problem without using excuses. You know who has used excuses for this season? Maurice has.

The same Mark Scheifele on pace for 70 points playing for the most part with a 18 yr old rookie and 19 maybe 20 years old sophomore? Yeah... totally less than stellar Scheif hasn't been around long enough yet to be part of the possible rotten core... those guys would be buff wheeler little Toby Thorburn and Stuart (can't see them being a problem) Those are the guys who are the actual veteran leaders who tuned out 1 coach already... I don't see wheeler or Little being part of the problem either. I'm not sure how anyone can honestly think Coaching isn't a problem when after getting chewed out hard last night on TV on national TV they come out and get 2 shots on goal the entire period. That's a team giving up on the coach. How many more embarrassing losses have to happen for people to realize that Coaching is a big problem. People wanted Mike O'shea gone for lesser reasons. But with O'shea you can tell the players respect and like him.. I don't see that with Maurice

Is coaching a problem? Yup. Are some of the vets who tuned the last coach out a problem also? You bet.

A vet goalie and 3rd pair D don't matter tho if the structure and effort isn't there. Our last 3 games at home. Blow out. Shut out. Blow out. That game against Calgary was great... it's how this team should play. Strong defensively. But.. they don't do it enough. I don't think that's the youth... I think the Vets are struggling the most and the youth have been our best. Can talk about goalies or 3rd pair D or 4th liners or whatever... it's all irrelevant if the effort isn't there. There are no consequences for certain players. People who know more about hockey and Maurice than I do say this team looks eerily similar to Carolina the last year Maurice coached there.
