Goaltending is 1 problem. Lack of d zone play is 1 problem. Buff is 1 problem. Lack of structure is 1 problem. Coaching is 1 problem. Where to start. I don't really want to see Maurice take tge bullet for lack of effort by certain vets but.... I think that's probably what will happen

Maybe watch the future in these games (scheif Lowry Armia ehlers Laine Morrissey Trouba maybe. Helle) and what I see is tons of talent and skill but not getting much help from the past if you will. Those trades do nothing tho to help them. Philly won't trade Sanheim.

Of course it's an option but... it's minor. I'm not in the room... none of us are but there appears to be somewhat of a divide or I dunno going on in there. Upgrading your 3rd pair D and backup goalie is great but if the problem really does lie deeper(it just might) then really you're ignoring the actual problems. I don't know if the vets are a problem... no clue... but if they are... how is upgrading your 3rd pair D or backup goalie solve that. It doesn't You don't think a guy like enstrom with his fiancee having cancer wouldn't like to perhaps be out east where it's probably easier to get a plane ride to Sweden? Or he wants a chance tO win a cup? NTC or limited ones... if a guy wants to win and not be part of the rebuild... move them. If not... then the only option really is to fire Maurice. I'm not sure that's the right option despite what I've said before because he would be the 2nd coach the veterans tuned out.

At this point, if he's lost the room, who knows, it doesn't matter who you bring in. It's a new voice. There really are 2 options here... 1. Fire Maurice. 2. Make a huge trade involving a couple veteran players and go full in with your youth rebuild that has kind of just started or really, still in the early stages of development.

Well, when you think about it... they are in a rebuild, it just started maybe last year or the year prior but if you really break it down... Guys who have basically just joined the big club this year or last so NHL ROOKIE AND SOPHOMORES - Helle,Morrissey,Ehlers,Laine,Petan,Copp Guys who are starting to come in to their own but still not really veterans -Scheif,Trouba,Lowry,Armia They are in a rebuild.

It's anybodies guess but Paul Maurice gave a good quote yesterday when asked why there was no punishment or bag skate yesterday at practice before they left for warmer climates. "I didn't want them to have an excuse if they don't play well". That is an interesting response and perhaps a point where the coach is clearly saying that this lies on them, not me/us. If there is an excuse it's something the players have to identify and own and if Maurice has the backing of his GM and owner then times surely could get interesting in Winnipeg if another egg or two is laid in the same fashion as Wednesday So maybe The Veteran players are the problem? I don't know. Also in other news, Chiarot is day to day with an upper body injury (stayed in Winnipeg) I've said it before, I don't want Maurice to be fired, I hope he's here a long long time, I do think some changes need to happen to the coaches tho (Flaherty and Huddy have been here since year 1) (they probably need to be replaced this off-season) I also think that there is the real possibility that a few of our veteran players ( not gonna bother to guess who, but.. we only have so many) are perhaps part of the problem and if that's the case, perhaps it's time to move on from a couple of these vets (the ones who have been here since day 1). (Wheeler,Buff,Little,Toby,Stu,Thor) (those are the guys, i don't see Thor or Stu being issues, or Little for that matter but who knows, Buff? Maybe he is an issue, but he's not going to go anywhere, would they move the captain?? i dunno)
