CFL - 2023 Regular Season - Discussion Thread
Fatty Liver replied to JCon's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Looked for them in the game replay and neither Bennett nor Kongbo had much success creating pressure compared to Haba, who was a force. It's pretty difficult to judge DE effectiveness when playing against the Bombers O-line, nothing much gets through. Boateng was fast and effective when he played in Edmonton, but he hasn't played a game since 2021 due to injury so who knows, if Walters thinks he's worth a look, he probably will. -
I have no problem with true capitalism, bring it on, it's the controlled capitalism that eliminates competition and puts industries in the hands of a select few that I detest. Crony capitalism is not much different than communism, in that much of our lives are controlled by a roomful of supreme assholes.

Did he actually recover or did BLM just miss the target? Trevor Harris will answer that question shortly. -
Probably overdosed on Viagra and died with a boner.

Meh, he did his Cage bit well. Renfield was just another malnourishing junk food movie filled with nothing but empty calories, silliness and extra-exaggerated violence in a world were pain, death and gravity have no relevance. Seems like I've watched hundreds of these hollow body franchise movies with my kids, I conveniently doze off during the high intensity fight scenes because they're too boring to keep my eyes open. The only good movie I've seen recently that caught my attention was "The Whale" and my kids hated it. 😄

Hopefully #6 Cole sticks around town, seemed to be a demon on ST and also had some great returns in the pre-season. -

Miles Fox is a DT and has been placed on the PR, so he isn't going to help out at DE. -

Rose still plays at 5'-11 172 lbs. so he's never bulked up, more concerned with him getting out muscled on one-on-one battles with bigger receivers than helping out with the run. -

Hamilton has the most D-line assets and their secondary sucks. -

No problem, I'm sure Holm won't mind going back on the PR for the remainder of the season, if he's a good soldier he'll take having his career derailed with a smile. In the end Winston Rose may be the odd man out as he's probably the least physical of all the DB's. Sooner or later Ford is likely to return as well, but I guess having too many assets is always a good problem to have. -
Can't seem to insert this tweet cleanly as twitter is a bit of a mess, but it contains a video of PP earnestly defending Harper's appointment of David Johnston to chair the inquiry into the Mulroney-Schreiber affair at the time. https://twitter.com/PierrePoiIievre/status/1665337043273109506?ref_src=twsrc^tfw|twcamp^tweetembed|twterm^1665337043273109506|twgr^b911a8596ca4649244e0ce806c2bd8522f39e47f|twcon^s1_&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fpublish.twitter.com%2F%3Fquery%3Dhttps3A2F2Ftwitter.com2FPierrePoiIievre2Fstatus2F1665337043273109506widget%3DTweet Pierre PoiIie CPC Leader Par @PierrePoiIievre After 6,915 days as an MP, I’ve changed my mind. That game was like watching an obese couple trying to get it on in the middle of a football field, a futile display of huffing and puffing occurred, but neither came close to getting their rocks off.

September 4, 1957, a group of people, several holding signs and American flags, protesting the admission of the "Little Rock Nine" to Central High School in Little Rock Arkansas. 66 years later, protesters brawl over LGBTQ curriculum outside Calif. school board meeting. Can't say the same prejudices don't exist within Canada, because they do, and they always have.

Fright of the night, Zach scooting upfield with Simoni in the vicinity. -
Huff relied on recruiting imports for years to keep the cupboard stocked and never took part in bidding for high-end F.A. talent, mainly because there was little need. Last few years they've lost a lot of the players they invested development time in and it's starting to show. Dickiebird is in charge now, I don't think he's inclined to spend big in F.A. either, but he might be more enthusiastic about scrap heaping players from other teams.

The jerseys are in tune with their attempt to turn back time In Alberta. I hope their alternative jerseys are rainbows.
-
Strange, no Bomber players statistically ranked in the top 10 of DB's, LB's or O-line, which seems to be mostly dominated by Ti-Cats.
-
Typical CFL, new ratio rules introduced and before the first game is even played some teams have already subverted the intent of the rule change by finding a loophole.

Walters contract is up at the end of this year and there's no guarantee he continues in his current role. The job is obviously his if he wants it, but there are often reasons people change career paths mid-life, better opportunity, more salary, less workload, greater job contentment. You can kind of tell O'Shea is happy where he is but no real indication Walters feels the same way about his role.
