[MERGED] Drew Willy Watch And Fine Discussion
Tracker replied to gbill2004's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Intent is not in the definition of the foul. He did it. Period. It would be tempting to say that one of our players ought to have laid a big illegal/dirty hit on Collaros, but these guys know that such a hit could cripple the hittee, and they would have to live with that. Darryl Stingley, anyone? There is no excuse for the hit, or the lack of penalty on the play and there will be no excuse if the Commissioner does nothing about this. -
Fans are understandably upset- Calgary, Hamilton and even Toronto have proven that you can completely retool a laughable CFL team into a contender in two years or less.

Now which linebacker would look good behind that D-line performance last night? -
For starters, it was a horribly inept game for almost every Bomber player and coach, but lets not over-react just yet. Surely to God, this edition cannot be as bad as they looked last night, so lets wait two more games before we start rolling heads. That said, there are some glaring deficiencies in Brohm's game- no arm, slow as a glacier when he runs and he telegraphs his plays. And dammit, we ought to have been able to counter the 6 and 7 player rushers after a play or two.

I find O'Shea's comment about Willy being tough and therefore able to bounce right up offensive. The brain is pretty much a bowl of Jello with a bit of fat mixed in randomly. WTF does "tough " have to do with a blow and rebound impact on such an organ??? -
Rewind to first quarter: Willy had a good first series but his identified inablity to deal with blitzes became evident again. This would have resulted in his getting pounded again and agin even if he did not get sidelined by a dirty hit. The O-line was at least as confused as Willy for the first half- where the he11 is our O-line coaching. The DBs were supposed to be the best part of the defence and were not. The D-line and linebackers were no better than last season and maybe even worse. Kallif Mitchell is starting to look good. Brohm is going to get O`Shea fired and from all the new (to the CFL) faces we brought in, not one has looked like a starter except maybe Marshall, and he was here last year. I`m really getting tired of promises with no delivery.

I see Hamilton as a much better balanced team than Sask, and certainly better coached. Maybe even better coached than the Bombers. -

I think the Bombers may be in trouble tonight. Hammy appears to have a solid running game and our front 7 did not look good last week. Collaros has looked good for some time now and Willy will have to be at least as good. I think the game will decided by the D-lines. -
Still and all, it is very encouraging news for the Bombers. Loud, proud and multitudinous.

http://www.stampeders.com/article/nifty-5050 Wow - three years without a job? I thought Alberta was the land of plenty...yikes. Feel good story though, glad this family won the prize. Also glad that they can still make it to Stamps games and support the CFL, despite their personal hard-ships. Die-hard CFL fans! For the past four years, Alberta (and southern Alberta in particular) has had the highest personal debts and personal bankruptcies in Canada. Good on this family- they sound that they really, really needed the money. -

Agreed. With Leggett back, the d-backs ought to be able to contain the Hammy passing attack, but the game against Sask showed that the Bomber lineacking is vulnerable to an outside running game. So, the outside linebackers better be prepared to get on their horses early. If the Db's have to start hugging the line to stop the run, we are gonna get killed by Fantuz and company. -
Nah. If Troy decided to go to Regina, he would then have to buy a banjo and find a reasonably attractive female relative to live with. Since when has this been a prerequisite? How about one that only chews her cud at night... To a Saskatchewanite, they are the one and same thing.

And this from a man who uses George Orwell as his avatar. Nope. That's gotta be Nicola Tesla.

Neufeld may not be aware of it, but that ship seems to have already sailed. -
I'm not entirely sure, but I think that having a load of manure dumped on your front lawn is a marriage proposal in Saskatchewan. Or at least a gesture of endearment.I thought it was looked upon as a right of....passage.Only for the cows.

You mean we can't measure the win in inches? Nope. Gotta measure in millipeters or something like that. -

Greece's problems are neither capitalist or socialist. All their problems stem from the fact that everyone wants to work only two hours a day, pay no taxes, and retire at 45 on a full pension. Somehow no one in Greece is capable of doing basic math, otherwise they would see their way of life is unsustainable. When you stop working for a living and just vote for a living you end up like Greece. They never should have been let into the EU. Right on. The problems have been years in the making, pretty much the same as California where a certain Austrian-born governor managed the economy by cutting taxes (always popular) and borrowing to cover state expenses. California has been broke for about a decade but no one wants to call the markers in, but Greece has not had any such luck. Iceland tried the same approach. And by the way, the financial advisor Greece has had on retainer for the past 12 years is....Goldman Sachs.

Who'da thunk that the Riders would be so desperate and McCallum would such have such low standards. -
Knowing when to duck and when to run kept Wayne Gretzky from being pulped. That and Dave Semenko.

Is it April 1st already?
