  1. One of the knocks on Dieter was that he was as smart as the average fern, but in the interviews, Harry Knight came across as quite bright. Plus he had a killer 'stache.
  2. Ripper, as a fan, you are probably looking through rose-coloured glasses. Bennett showed promise when here, but promise is like a cheque- you don't know how good it is until you try to cash it in. I have been a fan of Durant but do not recall him having a noodle arm.
  3. Fixed that for you.
  4. 2000 people at the game? They get more than that at an accident on the Malton Expressway.
  5. It took us a while to sort out the traffic issues around the new Bomber playpen, so do not expect a quick fix.
  6. Your new stadium is beautiful despite all the jokes about it resembling a porcelain fixture and is so much better than the old Taylor/Mosaic Field, but it will take time to develop character and attachment. We will settle for beating up Bennett and Bridge.
  7. Come on now. This is a whole new level of competition for Ekakitie, so it may take a game or two for him to get used to things. If he pancakes Bennett, that would be a good ego-boo for him.
  8. The injury report did not mention Young's badly bruised ego.
  9. Fewer than Glenn after the first hit.
  10. I will settle for 6-10 sacks on Glenn or whomever the Riders put out there.
  11. Me too. I thought he would have drawn at least a third rounder from the Bombers with the departure of Waggoner. Ah well, if he becomes a good player with the Greenies, I will be urinated.
  12. There's no rehab for stupidity, and talent alone isn't gonna save your butt.
  13. But if he was female, would he have to change his name?
  14. We'd probably have to outbid Chris Jones.
  15. Aaand...Bear Woods surfaces in Bytown. I hope our MLB candidates are as good as the coaches think they are.
  16. A sad day indeed, when our best media coverage of the Bomber camp comes from the Sun.
  17. The video clip listed him as 6'3" and 200 lbs, not 230.
  18. I thought carpal tunnel syndrome had to do with finding a fish in the passage from the dressing room to the field and being traumatized by it.
  19. I think it would depend on his attitude as much as his size. What made a certain wide-bodied receiver (who began his CFL career in Calgary) so effective was his delight in punishing the D-backs who tried to tackle him. Towards the end of some games, they would sort wave at him as he went by them.
  20. It really doesn't matter what Young's injury is. It was all about publicity stunt to distract fans from the sad state of affairs in Riderville. Bennett may turn out to be a serviceable quarterback, but what 75%-80% of the pivots that get to the CFL ever make any sort of mark here, so the odds are against him. Still, with the slim pickings in Riderville, he may even start a few games before the axe falls on Jones and the inevitable housecleaning begins.
  21. In consistency from a rookie kicker should be no surprise. Medlock is great, but he is an import, and getting a bit long in the tooth, so looking ahead is smart. If he has the leg strength, he ought to be able to learn how to place -kick.
  22. Aaand he's still dead, regardless.
  23. Despite O'Shea's gushing over Mr. Hurl, he will never be a hall of fame candidate.
  24. Well, if you live long enough, maybe...
