I still maintain that a marginal win is not good enough for the Bombers and Nichols in particular. After that terrible outing against the TiCats, Nichols has to redeem himself in the eyes of fans and, more importantly, his teammates. The team has to believe that when the rest of the team is having an off game, their leader will step up and take control of the game.

I am really looking forward to Kogbo's debut. He was a monster in college football and appears to have all the right tools. He will probably not have the stamina to last the whole game in the trenches but he ought to be something to watch.

No how perfect a game plan is, it will not survive 6 freaking turnovers.

Am looking for a better performance by Mr. Grandmont- he looked lost a few times last game.

Actually, when I was living in Saskatchewan in the later 70's and early 80's and Ron Lancaster was coaching the Riders, he had quarterback problems. During one game, his anointed starter was doing very poorly, so about halfway through the third quarter, Lancaster turned to the backup QB and told him to start warming up because he was going in next possession. The guy was feckless enough to say that he didn't feel ready to go in. Lancaster turned several shades of purple and told the guy to get off the sidelines, clean out his locker and be gone before the game was over or he would be killed.

You're right- there is doubt as to whether Streveler is capable of being a starter or stepping in when Nichols goes down and saving the game, and at this rate, we will never know. Streveler needs 5 minutes or so of meaningful playing time with a full playbook to be able to show what he has or does not have. A couple of the games the Bombers were far enough ahead that it made sense to sub Streveler in so that if Nichols goes down hard, we have a viable alternative or start looking elsewhere for one.

Not a strong argument- the second half stats do not flatter Nichols. Each team scored 6 points.

Agree to an extent- Nichols does not have to be an all-star if the defence plays as well as it has for the most part this season, but as last Labour Day and Friday showed, Nichols can throw the game away all by himself.

We had all better hope that last Friday was an aberration, particularly on the parts of Nichols and the whole damned O-line. The offence is gonna have to really shine against the hapless Argos to silence the doubters. A bare win will not be good enough.

Nichols has done this a few times, but not consistently. That is what is making many fans crazy.

Unless Kevin Glenn is resurrected, Evans will get all the time he wants.

It was pretty much a given that Matthews would be in the lineup this week (unless it comes out about him being a member of the Manson family and the NXVIM cult), and I would bet that Wolitarsky and Adams will be good to go.

The faithful would have felt a lot better if the Bombers had gone down after a good effort, but this loss was self-inflicted.

It tends to be an accelerating process- if there is a bad culture, good recruits will leave rather than adopt the "us against them" attitude and then only the problematic recruits will stay and perpetuate the culture.
