  1. What baffles me is that whatever Davis showed in training camp and throughout the season suddenly evaporated in two part-game appearances. How could the Bomber brain-trust be so far off for such a long time and how could it change so abruptly?
  2. There's a military adage: "Once is happenstance, twice is coincidence, three times requires action"
  3. You may want to get an IV set up with a large bore needle and mainline it. That would allow you to bypass your stomach entirely and the probability of barfing up that valuable booze.
  4. I just hope he wiped his feel before he tracked that BS all over.
  5. I have little doubt that Jones does what he wants and does not consider the salary cap, so if he wants to bring in extra bodies, he will, with no regard for the rules- he has proven that repeatedly.
  6. Amazing what you can do if you do not have to worry about that pesky salary cap.
  7. And it has come to this....."stifles tears"
  8. Well, theoretically, so are the Bombers, just not aggressively.
  9. The voters also have to take into account the gawdawful beating that Reilly has been taking for most of the season and still competed every game.
  10. Given that the Stamps will start a lot of backups, there is no reason that the Bomber QBs should not show well, even if the team loses. They will be carried on the roster for the balance of the season if they repeat last game's performance, but that ought to be the end of their careers in the CFL.
  11. I'm a Shakir Bell fan, and was surprised that he hasn't been picked up sooner by someone.
  12. I share your concern. It is no coincidence that the Bombers' fortunes improved as soon as Nichols was made a starter. We will probably know next week whether Nichols will be taking first-team reps, and if we get a lame excuse as to why he isn't out of caution, that will set off alarm bells.
  13. Amazing to be sure, but Slack was a fierce competitor and if his body was as strong as his spirit, he would have been around a lot longer.
  14. Burt the Bandit has been reduced to using a cane to getting around as of last year and is probably getting around like Harvey Korman and Tim Conway in their skits on Carol Burnett's show.
  15. We are going to see if LaPolice has the ability to customize the offence to give LeFevour a chance.
  16. 3downnation is reporting that Lefevour is the probable starter against Calgary.
  17. In all seriousness, Carr could not have been worse as a receiver than anyone not named Weston Dressler last game.
  18. That was the Walrus. I heard the interview and he was pretty blunt about the Bomber performances in the past five games- specifically about the vulnerability of the team to the Big Gain, and their tendency to give up gobs of real estate and hope for turnovers.
  19. I suggest we resume this discussion after the Calgary game. One side of this discussion or the other ought to be vindicated. Or not. When considering either Taman or Barker for a talent bird-dog, would it not depend more on who did the actual scouting? I am not a Taman fan, but in both Winnipeg and Regina, he was probably micro-managed and pretty much told what to do and how to do it. How well he would do with a decent budget and oversight is a matter of speculation, but I am not happy with the results that Danny Mac and associated have produced.
