BigBlueFanatic reacted to Ripper in Next up Edmonton
He did that right in front of us in north endzone. LOL We were giving him the business pretty good. He just laughed. He was a good sport about it.

BigBlueFanatic reacted to 17to85 in Advice needed on how to create a CFL fan
and he's an NFL fan? Like the NFL games don't have real dull stretches in them? The NFL is all hype and less substance. Sure the CFL players aren't as good but the game is less rigid and prone to more crazy **** happening.

Bombers OL during Mike Sellers time, specifically, was so bad, it shortened Khari Jones' career by close to a decade. He took a worse beating than just about any QB that I've ever seen. The only respectable OL we had between Walby's era till now (still bad) is the Doug Berry years, with Gauthier, Picard and Khan....that was a good OL....and the only one we've had in about 20 years.

You aren't looking at the good and bad though. You are looking only at the breaks the bombers caught. Ticats caught a break on the missed field goal and subsequent td they got from it. They got a break on another touchdown where they had receivers so offside even rod black saw it but it wasn't flagged. Those two things right there are the only reason the game was close. You like to claim objectivity but it's really not. It's just focussing on the negatives and is every bit as bad as only focussing on positives

BigBlueFanatic reacted to Mr Dee in 1st place
There will always be posters who will try to diminish what the Bombers have done in any won game. What's not surprising is the two who did try. The Bombers didn't 'need' 6 turnovers to beat the Ticats...they caused, at least 5 of those. They like to point out a dropped TD catch by the opponents, but not not count a miss on a wide open receiver, in the end zone, for our team. They'd rather underline a 'lucky bounce' on a kickoff attempt, rather than give credit for heads up play by an oft-criticized veteran player. No, that doesn't count.
And, as you pointed out, the Bombers, with their history, easily could have wilted with that ten-point swing to open the game...but they didn't. I bet you those two posters expected the likes of Simoni Lawrwence and the rest of the (at that time) league-leading sack kings to destroy our O-line and pulverize Drew Willy. Instead, they got 2.... and 1 of those was on a slippery ball fumble. BUT! No credit there either...just those 6 turnovers and lucky bounce.
You know what? I think they're actually disappointed. I was wondering which 'fans' would bring up those statistics, and, as usual, I wasn't disappointed who did.

Or you could say that Hamilton needed a ten point swing off a missed field returned for a touchdown to even be in the game..

BigBlueFanatic reacted to Goalie in MOS The Man
I've always respected MOS. This makes me respect him way more. Anyone who ever talks crap about Mike O'shea the person is quite frankly a piece of ****

BigBlueFanatic reacted to Noeller in MOS The Man
I don't mean "MOS Is The Man", I just mean "here's some insight into who he is as a man"

BigBlueFanatic reacted to The Unknown Poster in Around The NHL 2016/2017
i disagree with this perspective. Jets didn't make the playoffs last year. Seems to me they felt part of the issue was consistency. They are bringing in depth to cover for injuries and push other players. Make youth earn it

this makes no sense whatsoever. Trouba is an RFA, not a UFA.

BigBlueFanatic reacted to Atomic in Perreault given 4 year extension
40-45 point guy with great possession numbers who can play centre and wing and doesn't look out of place anywhere in the top 9. Clearly likes the city and gets along well with the rest of the team. He's a veteran on a team that doesn't have too many, and every line he plays on seems to find success. It's obvious that he is a high-character type guy.
4th on the team in assists last year. Best Corsi, best Fenwick. 3rd in power play minutes and 3rd in power play points. Tied for second in power play goals.
This is a good move any way I look at it. Perreault has become a huge part of this team.

BigBlueFanatic reacted to Floyd in Perreault given 4 year extension
Enough with your ridiculous 9 goals argument... you trot it out every single time someone mentions Perrault. He's a setup man, how hard is that to comprehend or are you just bored...

BigBlueFanatic reacted to rebusrankin in Week 3 (vs Ham...Now With Depth Chart)
Climie had a nice analysis of Harris at the half. As others have said, its not just the running, catching and blocking, its his vision and how he attacks the holes to gain extra yards. You have to love this signing.
Off topic but I'd like to see Combs come home next year.

AND kept shouting down JPan85 that the dink and dunk passing not only played no role in the win, but was a bad thing.
That is also something you did. On page 7.
Hamilton has one of the stronger defences in the league and their success comes from massive pressure generated by the front 7. By intentionally dinking and dunking, Willy did not have the ball in his hands long enough for that pressure to become a factor. It is called a game plan. It is nearly the perfect game plan against Hamilton. In past years we didn't have the personnel to execute it effectively. This year with Smith and Harris, we do.
Of course the defence also played a huge role in the win. As did special teams. Almost like it's a team game...
There will always be differences in opinions here. That's what makes it a discussion forum. For many, that's part of the fun.
Constantly behaving in the childish manner you do is what I have no patience for.

Yeah, we should apologize. Just like all the teams did last year, when our starter was out.

I was thinking along those lines also. 63 yards on 13 carries. 38 yards on 5 receptions. And the blocking. But it's not so much the yardage figures, it was the smarts, in how he got the yardage, and consequently, the first downs. He was a perfect release valve for Willy.

I get so tired of sitting in the stands at the stadium listening to my fellow season ticket holders bitching and complaining all the way through games about our team. Same thing here, people are complaining and are very critical even when we win. Was it a game for the ages?? No it wasn't. But our team played significantly better than last week. They played with emotion, and they dominated. They were excited and it showed.

Perfect example of the "if we win, it's just because we were lucky" mindset.

BigBlueFanatic reacted to Fatty Liver in Week 3 (vs Ham...Now With Depth Chart)
The re-programming of Willy has begun.
First objective was to get him to trust a RB enough to keep feeding him the ball throughout an entire game.
Second objective was to forget about searching down field for the home-run and focus on getting first downs.
Third objective was to get rid of the ball quickly at all times so that he doesn't get the living hell beaten out of him.
I'm happy with his progress but still many miles to go.

BigBlueFanatic got a reaction from brett_c_b in Odds and Sods - Game 3 - Bombers at TigerCats
They talked about it and by the rules he was eligible to return to the play because he made contact/ first contact with the ball carrier plus he was the one who caused the fumble. Surprised me too
