The Bombers have found every which way to win as the reigning back to back champions and I’m enjoying the hell out of it. 2019 - lose your starting qb, blow some massive leads in the reg season, lose your back up qb - oh wait he came back wrapped in duct tape, pull ZC8 off the proverbial scrap heap and just f*cking win 2021 - blow away everyone and play one of the most stressful scary awesome championship games I’ve seen. 2022 - amidst major roster changes, bring on the doubters, the haters, every team gunning for the champs (again) We’ll take the standings, the opposition, the predictions, the power rankings and crush it all.

For added context I wrote off just about anything to do with the Elizondo-coaches Elks that year! Bang on how Biggie makes plenty of receivers look extra mortal. Ellingson obviously a huge signing and he can’t come back soon enough.

Truth. Last year the Elks first game at IGF, they were about to get out from under their own goal posts on a nice pass from Harris to Ellingson… until Biggee absolutely lowered the boom on him just as he was securing the ball. He got blown up, pass incomplete, TH crying about it, and many of us thought Ellingson was on the steep downside of his career.

Mancuso also shown on tv laughing about a time count violation on a convert… cue the cut to Osh with the easy lip reading “what the f!!ck are we doing”… taking a penalty as an honest error is one thing. Taking a penalty on special teams, potentially costing points and laughing about it on this FIFO team is ☠️ at the next opportunity.

O’Shea will always publicly say they did enough to win. Honestly the different phases showing up to win in different ways is huge character building and valuable situational experience. Give me the team that knows how to roll when the going gets tough every time. If it was Madden football every week, I can see a team being psychologically weak at the first bump in the road.

Yup the Nichols turn around of 2016. The Bombers rolled into McMahon on a 7 game heater and everything went wrong until late in the 3rd quarter. Bo Levi started off his infamous quote almost sympathetically as he shrugged, “They’re a team that’s trying to find out who they are..” before smirking into the camera, “We’re going to continue showing them that”. Kalil Bass fumble recovery sparked a furious comeback. Took the lead but the 2016 soft-as-butter defense allowed a walk-off Paredes field goal to preserve Calgary’s superiority. That game definitely cemented my dislike of Bo and D Dickenson.

All the outside noise of how great the Stamps are off the bye… Bombers are tired and banged up (ok true)… but very few of the “experts” remember how this team actually works, no matter the opponent, weather, schedule blah blah. Ready to kick back with a cold one and watch our guys go punch Calgary in the mouth.

Looks different when the Lions aren’t playing a Chris Jones roster full of guys who only just met each other… On the surface it reminds me of the Bombers 2014 season. Jump out to 5-1 and then saw we didn’t have the horses to hang with the contenders.
