  1. Why would they... the head ref was the same asshat gleefully chortling every melonhead first down at the LDC. Today he could barely contain his green joy anytime there was a Bomber penalty...it’s like he forgot where he was reffing, and remembered in the nick of time
  2. The drama surrounding this team and on this board is a bizarre tonic for this depressing 3 game losing streak. Been crazy busy IRL but managed to keep up with the reading by supplementing the bathroom breaks with lots of “being out in the shop” type tasks... IF, and this is a big if, O’Shea decides to bolt for TO and Pinball... agree with 17to85 that we woo Khari Jones and all his family and best friends to Winnipeg. Arguably held back by Buono in BC... he’s since shown he has what it takes to take a middling team to gross overachievement. What could he accomplish if he was allowed to manage a Kyle Walters supplied roster??? On a shallower note - what I wouldn’t give to see Khari on the sidelines, in Bomber blue doing his go-time give-em-hell dance...
  3. Three goals from our freshly minted defensive core... Scheif & Laine tied for assists. A fascinating start to our season of uncertainty!
  4. That was Glen Young, the DL LB coach. Thought he did a great job with the defence. Do we know if Alexander at safety was his call, or Hall’s decision before he took personal leave?
  5. If they did this... you’re saying there’s a chance they won’t empty the flats allll the time hmmmm
  6. This is how the pain of the lowest lows and the thrill of the highest highs of Blue Bomber fandom are achieved... when you know you could be better off not giving a sh!t, but you also know you just can’t help bleeding blue and gold.
  7. IMHO our best O-line production was with Gray and Speller at the guard positions. The play execution was pretty good, but missing of late is the agitator factor Gray brought to the line. In his starts he was living rent free in the opposing d-lines’ heads. A shame there is an issue keeping them from going back to that... be it injury or personnel management...
  8. Hwy 2 headed south from Edmonton... about a half a bag of chips’ drive and you’ll see the billboard for the Canadian Chapter of the Flat Earth Society...
  9. Not counting on Hamilton giving us anything either... I just expect our guys are gonna take care of business and not stop till the game is actually over.
  10. Ready to witness a full beatdown by the Bombers, and not just a half a beatdown. Also hoping like h3ll that asshat Simoni Lawrence does pull any crazy sh1t on our guys...
  11. Actually I think this offense is really quite good... but like in 1/4 mile drag racing you’re not supposed to take your foot off the gas halfway down the track 🤷🏻‍♂️
  12. No kidding There’s already a copycat in Montreal who tried to break Streveler’s ankle...
  13. This right here... I keep telling myself the football gods are about to drop 30 years of glory and plentiful championships on the Bombers, just to keep the universe from imploding.
  14. I dunno, Hecht holding out his hands and shrugging could actually be a very diplomatic way of pointing fingers at no one in particular, and everyone at the same time. Even a shoot-from-the-hip guy like Hecht isn’t going to stick his chin out and go, “you know the f$cken stupid blitzes coach Hall calls just hang us out to dry over and over”. In some ways Deiter Fan, I agree that yes the progress isn’t as good as we fans would like it to be. The shortcomings of the coordinators’ philosophies are still there, while Kyle Walters has built a roster that went from just being happy to be there, to the kind team that makes us argue about why they aren’t 11-2 or 12-1. I also have to add that when O’Shea wants the O to run the ball, he probably envisioned the run plays that gashed Montreal in the 1st half, and Lapo just went full-Lapo...
  15. The spirits of Shea Emry, Diamond Ferri and Dirty Sanchez are alive and well with this edition of the Als
  16. I’m in a bad enough mood so sure I’ll pile on.... F$ck Lapo and his shrinking violet 2nd half play calling. And F$ck Hall and his simpleton blitzes and be-my-guest “prevent” schemes. We have the players, hell we even have the plays, IN THE FIRST HALF OF GAMES. Can you imagine what it’s like in the Bombers’ booth? O’shea 1st half: ”We’re really stomping these guys, look forward to closing this out” Lapo: ”Hold my beer...” Hall: “No, hold MY beer...”
  17. Love Khari but I can’t wait to see our guys smash his yappy team to smithereens.
  18. *edit* sorry this turned into a loooong post I was twelve in ‘88 and fourteen in ‘90 (there my math skillz prove I’m not a rider d0uch3bag). I don’t remember anything except what I’ve been told about the ‘84 GC team. But after the 1990 Cup win I believed we would always be in it and win it way more than not. The spectacular Dunigan seasons of ‘92 and ‘93 were pure misery at the end, but weren’t enough to shake my belief that another championship was just around the corner. Then came 2001, and 2007, and in 2011 I was sure that Buck Pierce and Swaggerville would break a Lions team that had allll the pressure on their shoulders. I’m honestly grateful we’ve had progress and plenty of good times the last few years with O’shea’s teams. I’m also the kind of fan where a regular season loss kind of craps on my week until the next game - and the playoff losses are seriously tough to take... but hey the lows are part and parcel with the highs right? Fortunate enough to watch the games every week with my parents the last three years. My dad turned 75 last year, and my mom is a cancer survivor. Both diehard Bomber fans since they came to Canada in the 70’s, and after we moved from Leaf Rapids, MB to Edmonton in ‘81, my immigrant parents often went to Commonwealth to cheer for the Bombers while completely surrounded by hostile Eskimos fans. Anyways it’s one of my greatest wishes; to witness another Blue Bomber Grey Cup championship with my folks. My mind knows it’s nothing we fans have any control over, but my heart wants it so bad, hence plenty of heavy drinking to cope. IN CONCLUSION, Mr Speedflex I totally get where you’re coming from, even if our opinions on team building differ from time to time!
  19. Let’s not forget that Streveler only had two college seasons as a starting QB before coming to the CFL. Both highly athletic and intelligent - he’s already got a masters degree in sport management. His second go as a CFL starter has quite an encouraging trajectory. His passing will only get better as the game slows down for him.
  20. Money Hunter with the helmet to helmet aaaand washes out his own bench with a brainfart sideline tackle... lololololol
  21. Absolute bull-sh-i-te. The sad thing is you just know if the Bombers played that way they would be called for it all day everyday. If being a Blue Bomber fan wasn’t etched in my DNA, I couldn’t say how much longer I’d give two sh!ts about this league.
  22. Craig is lucky Osh got pulled away... when our fearless leader gets that fired up... oh yeah there gonna be a beatdown next week
  23. I would even suggest that if our *receivers* could help Streveler out by catching the ball, then his game automatically balances out. The Bombers just faced an amped up Eskimos team in a very hostile environment, in the rain. When the next best defence in the league know what’s coming, and STILL can’t stop the Bomber’s run game, then I’m not too worried about the risk of being one dimensional. On the other side of the ball, as others have suggested, the Sask offence is about to get punched in the mouth by a real defence...
  24. If Streveler hits his stride, how about sign him long term and let Nichols go in the off-season. Could save cap space and keep both Bighill and Jefferson. I think Bighill is going to keep rounding into form.
