Is this a joke?  Reilly threw for 4000 yards that year.

There are two things which will doom us unless changed: pathetic quarterbacking and Marcel Bellefeuille. Should O'Shea decide that Bellefeuille is the best coordinator for the offence and things do not improve (a likely scenario), the the affable O'Shea has signed his own death warrant.

All this MOS love reminds me of the the Rheinbold (sp?) Era. Lotta love for a terrible judge of talent and record but hey he is a good guy. This is the HC who stuck with MB, Brohm ,and Marve as his backups so how the hell do you only blame Mb? Strange logic.

Calgary makes 2 major mistakes, an INT in the end zone and a blocked punt, they keep playing well and blow us out in the second half. We make two major mistakes, both INT's, we stop playing well and get blown out. It's not just in this one game either. Every team makes mistakes, good ones play through it. We fold. Throw in the towel. Give up. A lot of that's coaching IMO.

I have read about 6 sites regarding the Tibial Plateau Fracture recovery time and all of them talk about recovery in Months not Weeks so forget the 6 weeks it will be 2 months before Willy can put any weight on it without the cast then you have to rebuild the leg so that will take a number of weeks. So after 2 months or so Willy will have the cast off but playing will be a different time line...

A failed special teams coach with limited contacts down south.  Who would have guessed he would end up being one of if not the worst Gm in the league?  Apparently our president didn't after the extensive off season search for a gm in 2013

Upgrade the other positions. Find other QBs that aren't CFL vets that can play. People were tired of Mack not making big splashes in free agency and not being able to find a QB. He got Willy in an offseason where it would have been nearly impossible to end up without either Collaros or Willy and has made some "splashes" in free agency. Some hits and some misses. The US scouting has been atrocious since he took over. At an embarrassing level. The drafting truthfully has not been much better than the previous regime. I'll have to look into it but I feel like Mr. CIS Walters has been at the bottom of the league in terms of talent drafted.

Never mind a CFL vet as a backup QB....you haven't brought in a Franklin, Cato or whoever might be on another roster. You accepted status quo because it was comfortable for you. That comfort has now become painfully uncomfortable.

I think it's obvious that Bellefeuille doesn't design an offense around a qb like Marve's strength, He expects the qb to play in his system. Things aren't going to change. It'll be the same thing next week. At the same time for a qb to develop he has to learn to stay in the pocket, do his reads & progressions & throw the football. You can run around in college & be successful but you can't in the CFL. At the same time there could be plays incorporated to suit Marve's strength like rollouts where he's on the edge & if no one is open he can tuck it & run. Or more zone reads where he runs with the football instead of giving it to the running back.
The thing that Marve has going for him that Willy doesn't is that he can use his legs to get out of trouble & Willy can't. Marve has to develop better pocket awareness & know when it's time to bail. He also has to get rid of the football quicker.
During the broadcast Matt Dunigan questioned Marve's decision making on one of the few passes he threw deep. He looked to one receiver who was open yet chose another who was double covered downfield. Matt said that Marve looked to the open receiver but for some reason went the other way, Matt said that he "didn't trust his eyes" which is a common vernacular coaching qbs. In other words, find the open guy, see him, believe it & throw to him. Don't overthink just do. The only way that happens is experience  & success. Marve will get the experience but if he's  shell shocked he'll never have success & won't get better. We've all seen rookie qbs that just don't make it despite having all the tools to be successful. It'll be interesting to see if Bellefeuille system kills Marve as a player or not.

How about we give John Murphy a guaranteed large $ deal to be GM and let him hire and experienced coach?

sure. teams…. like Hamilton, Montreal, Edmonton, BC. are so much more patient with head coaches.

How long did Benevides have in BC? two years? How long till tedford gets fired?

How long did Tom get in Montreal? and who was their coach last year? two coaches in one year?

This is another story line that is repeated so often, you might start to think it's true.

IT must be something with the pass protection schemes.  All that money and changeover to the offensive line and it 's still as bad as ever.

What a load of garbage.  Hamilton fired two coaches in one year (Marcel and Cortez) and they ended up snagging Austin.  Looks like you can go through coaches quickly and still make a quality hire provided you are willing to pay the price.

I saw MOS pat a player on the helmet after he took an undisciplined penalty. If it was Austin he'd be seething at him. I think there's a lack of accountability on the team led by the HC.

Why can't we recruit qbs like that? Other teams do it. Nah, the team continuosly brings in guys like Brink, Elliott, Hall, Goltz & Brohm & tries to pass them off as legit pro qb prospects to long suffering Bomber fans.

Ok and then we have a couple injuries and suddenly Thomas Griffiths is starting or we have 3 Americans on the OL.  And there's no guarantee the Americans are going to be any good anyways, as we saw last year.  It's a terrible idea to cut Canadian OL midseason, more so now than ever.  Goossen will get his chance when the time is right, no need to force it.

I'd argue your argument that they weren't serious contenders. They went on a massive FA spree that offseason and started the 2013 season 3-0 with two blowouts.

Look. I love the cfl and everything but its a semi pro league. Most of the players have off season jobs. The payroll for the team is one jet's salary.
Why should I pay 300 for one game and 9 dollars for a beer and 10 dollars for a hot dog? Part of the appeal of the cfl should be that it's affordable. I don't care if you're a fan of F1 or pro golf or NBA or Nascar or the NFL or NHL or MLB or whatever but those things are the class of their respective fields and the cfl just isn't in that level. It shouldn't try to be something it isn't and price it's fans away while doing so.
That being said I bought the cheapeat gc tickets I could get at the start of the season on the outside chance the bombers make the cup.

Spending more money than you have is not the action of a cheap person.  Fact is, in Winnipeg there are more lower income earners than other cities on the Prairies.  The average middle income earner earns less in Winnipeg than in any other medium-sized or large city on the Prairies.  They are going to spend less money on luxery items and such.  Not a function of being cheap, it's a function of less income.  You need to get out of the Calgary bubble once in awhile.

I still think there will be some big discounts with tickets at the Grey Cup...even at the risk of alienating those who paid full price.  They did offer plenty of 2 for 1s at the Grey Cup in 1998.
