  1. what do you think Bomber management is going to put out there? That MOS has his job on the line in 2 weeks? Jesus.
  2. *sigh * How am I supposed to win this argument? You reply to me and basically take a huge dump all over me, and, if I respond 'I'm crying'. If I don't I'm basically endorsing your views. Grow up. "Cry about it" lol.. seriously, this sounds like something my child might come up with.
  3. I'm sorry you feel that way. The admins have asked me to try and be less combative and bring it down a notch. And I agree its probably in everyones best interests we all try and find a way to discuss things with a more even keel. If you aren't interested in discussing these topics in a respectful manor, that's on you. Edit: Same for your atomic. Rage all you want. I don't care. Legit question and point of discussion. Feel free to scream at your keyboard for all I care.
  4. the 5-1 start was pretty awesome. I remember being really up on Willy after not wanting him, and, some what impressed with MOS. The results were there. Since that 5-1 start it's been a debacle. Just a hot mess. I think I mentioned before too about how winning 07 or 01 or 11 would have made a world of difference for this team and our fan bases morale. 01 was the least excusable. That was our Cup and a sub 500 team got hot at the right time, and, we didn't show up. That one hurts. The loss to BC was painful of course but not entirely unexpected. It's the loss the Riders that stings the most even now, and probably within the hard core fans still rings in our ears a bit. We were the better team for sure and a terrible fluke injury doomed us. Ugh. I can`t even bare to think about that game much more or I`ll get all pissed off. What Mike said was bang on. As Bomber fans were not enjoying this team right now, were coping with it. Its a terrible way to be a sports fan.
  5. If the worst thing you can say about Austin is that if he loses his starting QB he still can field an average team, wow, sign me up
  6. I don't feel a tad bit nervous. Why would I? See my above post. Good god, it's an absolute no lose. If Nichols even comes within 2 scores he will out done previous Bombers teams. I feel like the only way Nichols can really do himself harm is if he throws 3 or more picks, zero touchdowns, and the Bombers score no more than a field goal. Otherwise it's fairly par for the course.
  7. Last 5 games at Commonwealth: 3-32... -29 9-41, -29, added to -32 = -61 7-25, -18, added to -61, = -79 10-42, -32... added to -79, = -111 10-24, -14, added to -111 = -125 Last 5 trips to Edmonton are 5 losses with a combined point differential of -125. Meaning we've lost, on average, by 25 points in Edmonton over 5 years. But hey guys, this is just game 5, right? Sorry couldn't help myself. edit: In fact, using the CFl website, I can't even see a recorded win in Edmonton. Prior to 2004 it seems the game results aren't available. Meaning the Calgary Flames have played in the Stanley Cup final more recently than we won in Edmonton. Holy ****.
  8. Our teams "recipe" for being terrible isn't just one ingredient. We have a bad coach, a bad GM, and a bad QB (in this league that's a kiss of death). Look, talent is missing elsewhere but those 3 positions can't all suck. If they do, you're going to need incredible luck elsewhere.
  9. I have 2 areas I'm going to disagree with you on here. First, you think MOS will be here until end of season. That's entirely dependent on the Bombers and MOS. If this losing continues the decision will be made for the BOD and Walters. You can't tell me that if they go winless straight thru the Banjo Bowl they won't fire him. And how unrealistic is that, really? Even 1 win from now until Banjo Bowl. Also, it won't pop up every week. If he wins, he buys himself probably a 3-4 losses for every win. If we lose to Edmonton I promise not to start a thread... by then the voices for his firing will be louder and there's no point in asking peoples opinions. If he does win why would anyone think of a contract? How ridiculous is that? I feel like that last line was thrown in to try and make my poll seem ludicrous, as if the firing was an out of line question based on one week. This is 2 years of losing becoming a third year of losing... cmon.
  10. Why so angry? If your not interested in the poll, don't participate. What a poisonous atmosphere some people want to incubate around hete
  11. I'm sorry you feel that way, and that instead of engaging in a respectful debate you've decided to sling mud instead. There's value in this poll, whether you agree or not. In just 1 week we've gone from 90% to the same question getting only 55% no. If you can't recognize the fundamental shift in how MOS is perceived, this poll has all but erased that. Fans have certainly gone into this year with doubt, but, now we're entering territory where if MOS doesn't get a win, and within the next 2 weeks, he's likely gone. Sorry if you think this thread is some sort of schtick.
  12. I mean, if that is a serious question, ya. What's our winning % and average margin of losing in Edmonton? It's brutal. Yes, a home game vs Hamilton is a much easier game than Edmonton @ Commonwealth. That being said I don't think it's a trap by MOS. He's 1) not smart enough for that 2) trying to save his job. Willy isn't getting it done and even Iron Mike has to stop smiling for a moment and try something new.
  13. It's already shifting. Look at the last poll; 90% said no. We're close to 50-50 now. You don't see value in seeing this movement in the base?
  14. Why is it an agenda? Do you really think I have any sway in getting someone fired? Please. If you think that trying to gain the morale high ground is achieved with your boorish behavior, and that said morale high ground will some how elevate your flimsy opinions of MOS you're mistaken. On both accounts.
  15. am I supposed to feel bad that I'm ahead of the curve when it comes to this stuff? MOS being fired has been talked about in the media more and more. Soon it will become all but inevitable unless this team/coach flips a switch and figures it out. But ya, lets get all amped up and yell profanity at each other? Cmon. How about civil discourse. I'm really trying here.
  16. Losing hurts and drills away at peoples confidence. Look at how badly peoples confidence in MOS has been shaken by a dull loss to Calgary. Not a blow out, just a couple scores. Mike has given up on MOS, and there's media speculation ramping up. It's easy to talk about it being early in the year but it's not early in MOS's regime. 1-5 with a crushing loss to the Eskimos is a very hard spot to be in if your Michael O'Shea... just try and picture these boards and how people will feel if the Eskimo's put the boots to us 35-10 or more. It would be a blood bath.
  17. Same poll and idea as last time. I'll state again this poll is simply about MOS's job in the near term. This isn't supposed to be a 10 page debate on firing MOS in the off season, or, if we should fire him. This is just me gauging where the fan base is at and if people think he will be fired if get blown out against Edmonton. Not a loss like Calgary yesterday, but a real good rodgering that we often get at Commonwealth Stadium. Please be respectful in the thread, this isn't meant to be a divisive post to cause arguments. If you can't keep your comments and replies respectful then maybe considering Pm'ing me your anger instead lol.
  18. Nothing will happen because the loss wasn't a huge one. Not enough visceral emotion. Now, on the other hand, if you go to Edmonton and get absolutely rodgered by the Eskmos? Maybe.
  19. What makes you think that's going to happen if it hasn't happened already? For all we know, MOS is being told that he has to start the players he's starting over and over and over again because Walters brought them in. Speculation and not worth it imo.
  20. Does using phrases like witch hunt make you feel superior? I want heads to roll and your saying that like it's a negative? This regime isn't failing, it has failed. Yes, heads should roll. Jesus Christ. Firing MOS, as others have pointed out, has huge upsides. We'd be able to experiment with other players and see what we have through out our roster. As is, MOS has zero accountability built in to this team by playing the same terrible starters game in and game out. Hall and Lapo might be losers in your eyes, but, that would make MOS what? An ultra loser? Also no one is suggesting only making changes to coach or qb. Both should go but so should others. But that's what people are suggesting, are they? Nope, it's easier for you to sit there clacking away at your keyboard building strawmans to tear down. I bet you have a smug little grin on your face when you argue against peoples ideas that no one has had or expressed here.
  21. I think your tone deafness with regards to my posts is so bad it has to be purposeful. Canning a GM takes years to build a proper case. Cutting a 400k anchor off your roster and moving on from a bad player takes a day. Just the same that I was years ahead of the anti Pavelec movement I'm having the same arguments with people over Willy. I focus on Willy because at the moment he's over paid, under performing, and the face of this team. Would I send all 3 guys out of Winnipeg this morning if I could? Your god damn right I would. But discussing a GM mid season is pointless.
  22. Oh, that's weak. I'd sooner turn off the CFL and never watch football again rather than put on another teams jersey.
  23. Because Walters isn't a good GM. That's why. Do you see me defending this guy? He's clearly incompetent. He hired MOS, a terrible mistake. He didn't rectify that mistake by looking to get anyone else in the off season, when it's apparent to anyone with any foresight that MOS isn't the guy. He didn't fill the roster with enough talent, and has failed to do so within his time as GM. But how bad is our team really? Who knows. I think we have such bad coaching from the head guy down to coordinators that they could make the BC Lions or Redblacks 1-3. That debate could be had for days and days. What we do know is that there's a real stench from this club, from our offense to our defense. But there seems to be a group on here who want to deflect blame away from players they like or perceive as being better than they actually are and re-assign that blame to anyone else. "Willy doesnt' stinks its' the GM's fault for not giving him the right talent around him. Or, "Willy doesn't stink but I blame the O line because they're a train wreck". And so on and so on. No, Willy does stink. Does the offensive line force him to have the worst long ball in the CFL? Lock in on his primary target and stare him down? Does the O line force Willy to hang on the ball too long? No. Is our O line great? Probably not even average. Is our GM good? No he clearly doesn't get the job done. But that doesn't give a free pass to our 400,000 dollar quarterback who's getting boo'd off the field game in and game out.
  24. Then why are we paying someone 400k a year? To plunge to the lowest common denominator on our offense? Don't you go out and get a star QB with that money to raise your team up and have people play up to his level?
