Here is McKnight's highlight video, he's fast but too short to play receiver IMO.  It looks like he could be a good return man if Grant doesn't return.

Too short to be receiver in the CFL? A league that has had Brandon Banks, Chad Owens and Weston Dressler as league leaders in receiving stats in the last 10 years.

All they had to do was decide between Brady or Johnny early on and let the other go to F.A., leaving the door wide open for Harris to finish up his career in Wpg.. I don't think adding Harris effects their win-loss record at all, but watching him chase records would have given the fans another great reason to attend home games and a last chance to celebrate with an all-time Bomber great.  I think they fumbled the ball and I bet Wade is pissed.

You don't think Wade and Walters talked about it throughout the week. Honestly thinking about business and player health, I am taking the 2 young guys every time. Are they Andrew Harris, no, they are their own players who got to grow under Harris for a couple years. I would take the younger guys over a 35 year old RB that missed half the last season. Here is the thing our O-line opens whole trucks can drive through most games, I don't see that changing next season, we will run the ball down teams throats still and run play action off of that. Especially with 3 young backs that all bring something different.

You can watch the games or look at the stats.  Our downfield passing game was up when Harris was playing and down each week he wasn't.  The OL was the same, the QB was the same.

The guys installing and calling the plays didn't trust the other backs to block, especially Oliviera.  Sure he was essentially a rookie, but in football that's fluff and even fluffier in a one-year contract era.  You build a team to win now.

The key words in your whole post are "When He Was Playing" he missed half the season, came to camp a bit out of shape, They both signed 2 year deals, so your one year argument is out the window.

A local lockdown or increase of restrictions could help ease the capacity on the healthcare system. This was the same goal with the original - bending the curve. It is not just about what happens when an individual gets sick with Covid, but what healthcare is available to anyone who needs it, even with non-Covid conditions. As Mark F posted above, many procedures are being delayed and this has directly led to the death of non-Covid patients. With the province basically waving the white flag, that has signaled to all Manitobans that the time for restrictions has passed. Unfortunately everyone going about their business as normal is already causing hospitals to push capacity limits when other healthcare services are running in standby mode to deal with Covid surges. We don't have the ability to 'flex' to increase Covid capacity any more than we currently have.

If we have decided to basically live as normal (besides that being a decision to basically disregard health outcomes for vulnerable individuals), it has to be paired with a healthcare plan to decide who does not receive care when the system is at capacity.

Look at all the places with heavy restrictions currently. Quebec, Ontario, BC and they are still having similar cases, hospitalizations and ICU per 100k as Manitoba. With this variant restrictions have not been effective. It is not the province signally they are giving up but that they have pivoted to a new strategy. While I completely agree that Canadian Healthcare is not designed with the preparation for pandemic or emergency surge. The issue in Canada is not easily fixed because it is not the space or lack of equipment that is holding hospitals from expanding. It is the lack of trained professionals available, this is compounded by the US targeting our staff with signing bonuses, guaranteed sale assistance and increased salaries.

As for the assumption they are disregarding health outcomes, I beg to differ but it is more they are trying something different based of what has happened elsewhere.

  5. What are more restrictions or lockdowns going to actually do right now. The answer is not a whole lot, look at Quebec, curfews, lockdowns, etc and still the numbers are through the roof. This is the one that we are going to have to ride out, it will make some of the idiots in Southern region really sick, some other of us will have a crappy couple days(I know I just went through my crappy 4 days but was vaccinated). Omicron is going to burn through the population base and fizzle out. The only lockdown that would be at all effective would be the ability to lock down the entire world for 3 weeks. But that is not an option as we would still need the essential workers to keep going.

Anyone else here the latest out of Quebec?

soon you will need proof of vaccinations to be able enter a liquor or cannabis store. First dose rates were up 6 fold in the days after this was proclaimed. It’s somewhat surprising as you can buy beer, wine and canned cocktails just about anywhere but it seems to have had an effect.

It has been that way in Saskatchewan since we brought in Vaccine restrictions. A couple liquor stores and most of the Cannabis stores are doing curbside pickup though.

Manitoba reported 2,383 new COVID-19 infections and 19 deaths on Monday.

There are 378 Manitobans in hospital with COVID-19, 39 of them in intensive care. The test positivity rate provincewide is 49 per cent.

Based on provincial data, public health officials are highlighting the following trends for the week ending Jan. 6:

An average of 1,814.7 new cases per day.

A total of 201 new hospitalizations, a 51.1 per cent increase from the previous week.

A total of 20 new intensive care cases, a 5.3 per cent increase from the previous week.

A total of 12,703 cases, a 6.9 per cent increase from the previous week.

Test Positivity rate is no longer a great stat as the majority of tests being run are on people who are showing significant symptoms and are not vaccinated.

Khari coached young qbs in Calgary at a Multi Sports training facility for a couple of years after he retired. He told me then that he wanted to be absolutely certain he didn't want to play anymore before he would pursue coaching opportunities. He did want to coach at the NCAA or CFL level & he was just biding his time. Meanwhile, my son learned from him as a high school qb. He was a great guy. Most former pros are btw.

I can tell you on the hockey side. Keith Tkachuk was as much of an ass off the ice as he was a pest on the ice.

It's almost amazing that a tread about Walker potentially being pursued by the Bombers turns into a post about the Riders. But it seems most of you must truly like the Riders to keep on talking about them and their fans.

It is unfortunate that I am living in Regina......but the only thing it does increase my hate for them. Best part is you go to the Rider forums they only talk about Harris.

I think those are just decals on an inexpensive replica style belt. You can get some cheap customization though most legitimate places won’t use someone else’s logo.  Easy enough to print a decent decal.

The original was but he sent out for a place that makes belts for amateur wrestling shows to do this one. There was a story right after the grey cup about it.

Why the Fack would Derek Taylor put the Bombers so low,  I'd understand if he made it obvious that he was joking... but he didn't.   Even Pederson wouldn't be that ********...

I here it in Regina all the time, even some Rider fans say he is trying too hard. The only point I can see the bottom team do not have a starting QB signed and the top teams do.
