Takes time to bounce back from that. I wouldn't be surprised to see him making an impact this year.

I hope so. After the years he spent toiling for peanuts he deserves it.

But also an Argo fan so that alone is worthy of derision,  pity and drive by pot shots.

Yes, I don't even believe Bluto would want to be coddled like a Faberge egg. He knows where he is posting. No different than how Bomber fans are met at opposing forums.

Rhymes tried to fight two guys after the game. He tried to get in our locker room if I recall.

    He has an attitude problem.

Nope that's all just fiction that I created. Never happened. He is an awesome team guy. I was just putting out a completely unsupported by fact narrative about him. His parking lot and post game antics are just him being misunderstood. His attitude and conduct are beyond reproach and had zero impact on why he is no longer a Lions player.

Jesus christ, how many more of your posts are you going to edit ten times to add to your rant? Maybe try thinking before you type so I don’t have to refresh my screen over and over waiting for you to get all your thoughts out.

We all take shots at each other, we all debate with varying levels of intensity from time to time, we all bash the trolls (like Wheeler, who has been banned) but there’s literally no need to take a shot at Bluto, who is a respected member of this community even though he has a condition that forces him to cheer for the wrong football team. Don’t like it? Oh well.

What shot did I take at Bluto? He asked why it matters if Migs changed his name. I answered then threw in a very mild barb about the Argos having no fans. I am unclear what got your hackles up here.

Look at the reaction to what I’ve said compared to the reaction to what you’ve said.

I don’t really care whether you value my opinion or not. It wasn’t my opinion. It was me telling you to stop being an idiot and getting on Bluto’s case for literally no reason.

And this is me telling you to get lost because I don't need to justify a damn thing to you. There is absolutely nothing in my post getting on Bluto's case other than taking a shot at the Argos fan base size. You went after Wheeler with more veracity yesterday but you tend to forget your own being a jerk moments. Really, this whole thing isn't about Bluto at all, because my comments are pretty benign, it's about you trying to take a swipe at me under the cover of moral superiority. It's your MO.

    You need a snickers?

I think Mike and JCon do. Being frikken jerks.

    3 minutes ago, Mike said:

Or you could just stop being an idiot. Not that difficult. Literally no reason to go after Bluto, he doesn’t deserve it. You’re smart enough to know the difference between someone who has earned the heat and someone who hasn’t. Act like it.

Again piss off Mike. I really don't value your opinion enough to care what you have to say about this. I've seen the way you operate as a poster and it leaves a lot to be desired a lot of times. I don't stick my nose into it when you are acting like a grade A jerk. You take passive aggressive to a whole new level then preach to others. SMH.

  6. 4 minutes ago, Mike said:

Speaking of his own team’s forum posters being embarrassed, going at Bluto like this for suggesting you debate the guy instead of just screaming bloody murder because he’s making a very debatable argument is quite embarrassing.

Literally no reason to take shots at Bluto. He’s right.

Piss off Mike...don't need your holier than thou shtick. You are no better than that here half the time so save your indignation and go look in the mirror. You take more sideswipes at people than all the rest of us combined.

"People" being the same person that is always pushing a narrative when they're just talking out their a**.

No talking out my ass at all. There was a running narrative over on LionBackers questioning his attitude since mid-season last year. Feel free to do some homework before calling someone out for talking out their ass or it ends up being you doing it.

Thiadric Hansen is probably cooked after the Achilles. Plus he's 31.

Assuming Koromoko will compete with the 21st Canadian for a special teams type of role. Then maybe a battle for the punting job this year between the guy we had last year and another global?

I will say, I see doom and gloom around here on the lack of signings but I think there's going to be A LOT of competition this year from young Canadians and Americans fighting for legitimate roles on the team. That should get people excited.

Might be some growing pains but I'd think the plan would be coach the young guys up and let them get experience throughout the season and hope to gel by the time playoffs role around.

Thiadric was not healthy all year last year imo. Not sure if the achilles will be the end of his career but we gave him more game time last year than we probably should have. He wasn't good unfortunately.

I actually think the Riders will be relatively decent IE not total garbage like last year. They’ll win some games in the summer again before the wheels fall off.
9-9 is probably the ceiling with a QB like Harris, but I don’t see them being worse than Calgary or Edmonton.

I don't see Harris lasting all season, and I don't think they have a hope of winning more than a game or two without him. Mason Fine is hot garbage.

Making an argument, even if you think that its reasoning has more holes in it than the red, lacey delicates that women will be wearing this evening the world over, isn't the same as trolling.

Make your counter arguments. Bookmark it for a satisfying toldyaso in August.

Also, if that is Migs and he's changed his screen name, so what?

Speaks to his credibility as a poster. I know that living in your Toronto bubble and occasionally spending time at other CFL forums leaves you out of the loop, but Migs is generally regarded by all CFL fans in all CFL forums as a wingnut....even his own teams forum posters acknowledge it and are embarrassed by him. When your team gets a fan forum someday you will understand.

Interesting debate here. Considering the toll that football takes on the body, I would lean more towards guys playing for the $$ and the travel opportunities.

Yeah, you an make practice roster money pretty much anywhere, but entry level contracts are $75 000 ($55 000 USD) for a 6 month season - that's not money you make just anywhere

You have an average 4-5 year career, and putting your body through a meat grinder for that amount may sound like a good deal to those of us who don't do it, but to those that do I guarantee you that the vast majority aren't doing it just for a CFL pay cheque. It's nonsense to suggest that these guys come to the CFL because it represents their best financial opportunity. Take a look at the resumes of a LOT of the players in our league, they are not dummies that are unable to earn a living any other way. Sure you got exceptions to that rule with guys like Nick Marshall etc, but the vast majority of guys in the CFL are coming here to try keep their NFL dream alive and demonstrating a good attitude and a winning attitude is extremely important to those chances.

I can guarantee that the drive to win is one of the top things the Bombers recruiters look at when they go South. I would think that it is important to pretty much every CFL team to varying degrees.

  10. I am glad the Rider troll came over here. Made me look at the West so far and how everyone's rosters are shaping up. Last year only BC was a serious threat to us and a boat load of talent walked out their door. Way more than what we lost. Calgary, and the Riders look to be treading water from last year, and Edmonton might jump back into that 2nd tier. Toronto took some heavy losses in the East. I like our Grey Cup odds a lot actually, We have by far the best roster in the league imo.

In a nutshell....and that doesn't even touch on the Oline...Defensive backfield and the fact hey over payed for several guys their depth...which was lean before, will be even leaner again...some of their depth from last yr is still unsigned

We have some depth role guys to add as well...but we recruit a lot better, have 10 picks coming up, and our front line guys across the board basically outshine theirs....They will be in tough to possibly get 3rd place

but Meueler was spawned from the seed of Lancaster!!!....cmon...he's top tier even tho he has been demoted and pushed to the wayside previously

yeah...he didnt want to restructure...so was punted...whoever replaces him will definitely be a down grade....even with his pushing off B.S...and they also will be without Hatcher likely most the yr, and will be a non factor really this yr when he does return...Next yr he will be fine..this yr...not so much

Didn't want to restructure and has a suspect attitude as well. I really thought he would end up in Regina if you know what I mean.

  12. I went over and looked at their depth chart, Wheeler is seriously trying to suggest that Thurman, Reavis and ?? is better than Biggie, Wilson and Kramdi? What a joke. Thurman at MLBer is not the same as Thurman at WIL, he wasn't good at MIKE at all. Teams ran at him all day and it wasn't pretty. I think half of Oulette's season totals came against Hamilton because he was abusing Thurman so badly all year. Sure Thurman got his 98 tackles, most of them being dragged behind Oulette.

This is all he has. The times between seasons is when Rider fans get cocky.

Yes, and if history has taught us anything that will turn to despair once the season gets a few games in. Two things you can count on during FA frenzy every year, Migs or whatever nom du jour he is using will come here and demand respect for the RIders and tell us all how fantastic O'Day's offseason so far has been, and Booch and the rest of us making uncannily accurate predictions about how their season will really go. I mean if I were a Rider fan I would never read our site. We lay out an exact blueprint for their season every year that is proven to be astonishingly accurate. It's like we all are the Amazing Kreskin of Rider prognostications. So Wheeler, get yourself a bottle of chokecherry wine cause here it goes.

    1. Trevor Harris will be out by the mid point of the season with a career ending injury. He is just too fragile now, and too old to heal quickly.

    2. The Riders defence will again be awful and will get run over playing with an undersized LBer crew again.

    3. Marc Mueller will be the worst OC in the CFL by a country mile and the Riders will struggle mightily to score points

    4. The Riders will finish 6-12 and O'Day will be fired shortly after the season ends.

You can take most of that to the bank Wheeler/Migs. If you think that my post is a joke go back in the post history for the last 10 years and see how often my predictions on the Riders are out to lunch. You will be very disappointed after.

Give him a break, this is the first win the riders have had since labour day!

QFT. Imagine being so void of winning anything that your team signing an old veteran tackle on his last legs, and a bunch of mid tier talent, gets you primping around like a rooster.  As long as Harris/Fine are the QBs, and Mueller is the OC that team goes nowhere no matter who they sign.

  15. 15 hours ago, Wheeler said:

Hilarious that you mock the Riders for signing Micah Johnson and then on the next page you opine for the signing of Almondo Sewell.     Keep the comedy coming...

Wilson isn't the same player after his injury in 2022, but Bighill is a fraction of his old self.  Here hoping you trot  him out again this season.  Not even sure who your 3rd LB is.

And regarding your Dline, the only player of relevence left on the Bombers Dline is Jefferson.   Seriously who else is there?

As far as the Riders, it looks like they are going with either/both Christian Albright or Brian Cox Jr on the other side of Malik Carney.  Both looked very capable last year on a very poorly coached football. team.

You are completely out to lunch. Wilson was awesome this year, and Bighill was an all star. Go back to your hole Migs.

I think there’s probably still some cash available to make some moves, but it doesn’t have to come 4 hours into free agency.

I do have concerns with going into the season with so many question marks on D and special teams, so I hope we clean up there a bit.

I like Walters ability to find guys that represent good value for the money we spend. I'm sure there will be a few like that added.

how do u improve over Schoen and Brady, and in house db's we already have will improve over Houston

Back up QB as well is an improved area...even with all the Brown luvin that many had...we much stronger there now

Our only big loss was Yoshi. The rest, it was time or we had just as good in house already.

  17. 1 minute ago, 17to85 said:

any improvement for this team was always going to have to come from the scouting department.  Age and cost meant losses were inevitable. Young players coming in is always what was needed and that won't be known until the season starts. Given the history of them finding guys who can play though, I will be optimistic.

When you have recruitment as good as ours, you gotta lean on it every few years so that we don't blow our SMS structure up and try build through FA like a certain green team hasn't figured out yet. Honestly blows me away that they had the chance to start an earnest rebuild this year and instead are running it back with a 40 year old QB and blowing their wad in FA. SMH. Mace is a yes man to O'Day, and this won't end well for them.

  18. 1 hour ago, Bubba Zanetti said:

No hate. When the end is near youve gotta make as much bank as you can. Miss you Yoshi.

For sure. This is likely his last big year of earning. He had to set himself up. Good chance he doesn't see the 2nd year of that payout. That's not a knock on Yoshi, just the reality that O'day will likely lose his job after the season and the new GM is unlikely to value a 250k contract to a IMP RT. Just the reality.

  19. Just now, Booch said:

    thats why...we saving her

and factor in that behind that garbage...Harris will either..1) likely be hurt...again or be pounded game in and game out as they try and implement an actual pro style offense this year, 2) just suck as per usual..moving the team between the 30's 3) the ultimate combo package of both.....and then the season rests on the shoulders of Mason fricken Fine.....now thats a warm fuzzy feeling!

That's basically all you need to even look at in regards to the Riders...

Thing is with Harris, is that he is an interception machine if he is pressured and he will be pressured. However, he has shown some fragility the past few years so I don't expect the Riders get a whole season from him.
