  1. Canadian Football League[edit] The Canadian Football League board of governors approved the use of instant replay starting in 2006.[6] The CFL system appears to be modeled largely on the NFL's, although some differences have been incorporated to accommodate differences between the two codes:
  2. I'm surprised more teams dont go for two. The ball is at the two yard line.. That opens the playbook and should be almost a gimmie. Heck even if you're 50 percent its worth it.. I understand with a guy like Medlock whos automatic on the convert that we stick with the conventional one point but a team thats struggling with the point after kick might as well go for two every time.
  3. You mean as a season ticket holder right?
  4. Our defense has quietly allowed the second most points in the league.. right behind the winless Hamilton Tiger Cats.
  5. No it's called continuity. We were 5-4 heading into Labour Day last season. This year were 7-2. I'd call that improvement..
  6. I've never seen a team that's lost so much in the past three years have such an ignorant, loud fan base. Congrats to getting to getting to 500. That must be quite the accomishnement after being the laughing stock of the CFL for the last couple of years. There's absolutely zero fear of us coming into Saskatchewan next week. Heck we've owned you guys in your own barn lately so stop yapping. Still last in the West, and not going anywhere with a 40 year old Kevin Glenn. I just hope you're man enough to come around here in two weeks when you're 4-6.
  7. Congrats on being 500. Riders they beat up on two teams that couldn't stop giving the ball away. Winnipeg won't make the same mistake. Anyways should be an interesting matchup. They're not going to be an easy W on the schedule.
  8. Your safety will always look bad on tv because his primary job is reacting to where the play is going. I think he is having a little bit of a sophomore jinx. He has good reactions to plays, and obviously he can lay the shoulder down with the best of them. His presence in the middle of the field can't be underestimated. I do think he looks a little bigger this season and his speed might be just the tiniest bit compromised, obviously the problem with big hitters is that they don't always wrap up and sometimes the ball carrier gets away but overall I still think he's one of the best safeties in the league.
  9. I had a selfish moment last night watching the game seeing Nichols throw the Hail Mary on the last play before half and getting an INT. Another 3 TD's and some GREAT decision making from Nichols. We have a confident offense where Nichols will not force the ball. He gives his receivers the chance to make plays.
  10. He's a MLB. I'm not making excuses for his play but if you expect INT's and sacks then you're going to be disappointed...
  11. We had the first week bye, playing on the road in the opening of your new stadium and we still won. 7-2 vs 3-4 surely you can count?
  12. No ones better in finding the soft spot in a zone defense then Nik Lewis. Gotta give credit when credit is due.
  13. I've never seen a more obnoxious fan base of a team that's 3-4. You would think they were 9-0 the way Rider fans talk about their team.
  14. I think Edmonton at home takes this. They didn't play very well last week against us. They'll be better.
  15. Exactly, How many close games has Calgary won against us/the rest of the league over the years? Montreal has a lot of vets they didn't play well last week and came out and brought their A game at home. The good teams win the close games.
  16. I feel like the whole mentality of winning labour day classic being like our grey cup is over. We simply want to win football games. Doesn't matter if it's Sakschewan, Calgary, etc the mindset has to be to take care of business and win a grey cup.
  17. Second HM: we won't have to listen to Rod Black talk about Nik Lewis anymore. I get its a big moment, but we have a football game going on, a damn good one to boot.
  18. 1. Randle 2. Harris 3. Denmark HM: Medlock perfect again tonight
  19. 2nd I mean yes we can always get better at every position but this has quietly become a strength of our team.
  20. Winnipeg is a great sports city. Let's face it. A Winning football club will generate more interest on a station like 1290 . If we were 2-6 instead of 6-2 we probably wouldn't hear much. People are still in the honey moon stage with the Jets but if they don't start winning this year and the Bombers are among the elite teams I can see more air talk on the radio dedicated to the Bombers in the future.
  21. I would love to snag one of Demski or Coombs in the off season. That would be a huge move for the Bombers.
  22. I really enjoy Petans game, his passing skills are phenomenal. It's obvious he will never get a full chance on the jets. I hope he gets an opportunity on a team that needs some offense. He's basically a top six or bust player but unfortunately he won't be that player for the Jets.
  23. He had an okay rookie year. 960 yards with a 3.6 YPC I'm sorry but another under 4.5 shouldn't be congratulated. They simply chose to give him the ball time and time again. His career YPC is an abysmal 3.3 he simply can't read the right hole and when you have terrible awareness like that it's next to impossible to be taught. There's a reason why he was out of the league within 4 years despite being a third overall draft pick..
