  1. LOL everybody's a nobody until they become a somebody. Don't be ignorant.
  2. I think he's on the outside looking in no mater where her goes with Collaros, and Franklin soon to be on the market. I think back up QB is probably his ceiling right now but if he stinks in Winnipeg he may get a chance someday and continue to get familiar with the system and the receivers.
  3. Meh good things happen when he gets the ball in his hands. He was always going to be a crucial part of our passing game, especially with Dressler out of the lineup.
  4. Well yeah Ricky Williams once upon a time rushed for over 1800 yards in a single NFL season. Trent Richardson hasn't done a single thing in compassion.
  5. Ricky Williams was a weird case. He actually went on to have a good career when he got back into the NFL and played for a number of years..
  6. Well there's the GOAT then there's the goats GOAT! Big difference
  7. Yeah the games changed a lot. Now most teams run a zone option out of pistol or shotgun which I think when done properly usually allows a running back for a better opportunity because the QB should be making the proper read on the play compared to when you used to see the QB under center on almost every play. On a side note It's so awkward seeing older videos of QB's dropping back far enough under center so that they could throw the ball. No wonder completion percentage has gone up as a whole. Shot gun/pistol allows for a quicker release.
  8. You might just say.. Any Givens Sunday
  9. I hope Leggett can play. Our defense is just so much better with him in the line up. Do want to see more of Matt Coates however.
  10. That's a little unfair considering Charles Roberts played 8 years in the CFL and this is Harris's 8th season... Roberts also had about 800 more carries then Harris has in his career. The wear and tear the 5'6 running back took over the years there's no wonder he was done by 30.
  11. I think some people are forgetting how good Charles Roberts really was.. When he retired he was regarded as one of the best running backs in the history of the CFL. I appreciate Harris for everything he does for this team but Roberts was something special.
  12. With our offense I think Harris is just so much more valuable because of him being so good catching out of the back field, and obviously he's a good blocker, but Roberts running the football was just special. The fact that he has over 1600 yards rushing with no offensive line, and Tee Martin as his starting QB in 2005 is amazing.
  13. Exactly.. Edmonton was on its bye week at home and look how that turned out. No excuses not to beat Hamilton at home Friday night!
  14. It's actually interesting to put Matt Nichols up against other former Blue Bomber QB's who won or were runner ups for MOP award. As it stands now Matt Nichols is on pace for 5322 yards, 36 TDs, and 10 INT's ( actually 9.69 but rounding up) while completing over 70 percent of his passes.. We should also win about 13,14 wins this season. I think he actually blows 2007 KG out of the water and has the advantage over Khari Jones in 2001. Heres why. 1) 2007 Kevin Glenn went 10-7-1 as a starter good enough for first in the East. It was a great season for the Bombers after going through a crappy 2004,2005 seasons. Glenn ended up with 5117 yards, 26 TD's, and 13 INT while completing 62.5 percent of his passing. We also had a great receiving core at the time that consisted of prime Derrick Armstrong, a young Terrence Edwards, and one of the GOATs of all time Milt Stegall, not to mention a prime Charles Roberts on the ground. All the above players mentioned were league all stars and plenty of credit to Glenn for spreading the ball around but statistically Nichols already has the same amount of passing TD's as Glenn did, will most certain finish with less INT's and is on pace to throw for more yards.. 2) 2001 Khari Jones wasn't even his best season. That was 2002 where he threw for an incredible 46 TD passes but milt had the best receiving season of all time and took MOP award. Most people hold that 2001 team fairly fondly in their heart I was only 10 years old at the time but after a crappy late 90's run suddenly we were the best team in the league and it was exciting to be a Bombers fan.. I think the one argument Khari has which I've seen people saying for Bo was that he was on the best team in the league. The Bombers were the class of the league but I could see Winnipeg winning 13,14 games this year.. It's certainly not out of reach at this point. But if we compare stats Khari's 2001 season consisted of 4545 yards, 30 TD passes and 23 INT, with a 60.3 percent passing completion. He also had prime Stegall, Bobby Gorgeous, and a young Charles Roberts. Obviously the game has changed in 16 years but Nichols will have Khari beat in every category except for possible regular season wins.. Also Nichols certainly does have a great o line.. A lot better then our 2001 team, and a slight edge over our 2007 team, Nichols also has a better running game then Jones had in 2001, but Roberts was still great in 2007.. The biggest difference really being the receiving core.. It was much better in 2001, and 2007. Anyways just my break down and my opinion compared to other great Bomber QB seasons!
  15. Darvin Adams has really stepped up and become a legitimate number one reciever. Those two one handed touchdown grabs this season were absolutely ridiculous. I think consistency was his biggest issue but he's really been performing week in and week out.. Especially with Dressler injured
  16. Has he really been the most outstanding player in the league? I mean Calgary is a well oiled machine but watching Calgarys games his play hasn't blown me away. It's usually a strong effort by the defense and ST's. Don't get me wrong he's been good. He's a very good QB but besides an extra two wins what puts him over a guy like Nichols?
  17. I think there's really a good case to be made for Andrew Harris or Matt Nichols to win it this year.. Who else around the league has a shot?
  18. The Esks are really going to be in tough against the 9-3 Winnipeg Blue Bombers. It's going to take a huge effort from Reilly and company to squeak out a W especially with that line backing/secondary core.
  19. Just terrible play calling. Powell is ripping up the Rider defense and on both stalled drives they got away from Powell on first down forcing the Red Blacks to pass on second and long.. I get keeping the defense honest but make them stop Powell first before getting too cute.
  20. Really hoping Petan can put it all together. He has great offensive instincts and is already one of the best passers on this hockey club. Routing for the guy!
  21. If Tate was playing i'd say Ottawa could pull of a squeaker at home but with Lindley at the helm I just don't see it happening.
  22. So terrible to hear about Hefneys health issues, another GREAT Bombers play who flew under the radar. He was super talented and was always in the position to make a great play whether it was an INT, pass knock down, tackle, fumble recovery much like Leggett is now. Happy he got to retire a Bomber and I hope he lives a long productive life.
