Wilson is perfectly fine. If he played 18 games he’d be looking at about 1200 yards, and 8-9 touchdowns. He’s either a fine two, or a really good third receiver. Like other people said he drops the ball too much to be an alpha, but just because he isn’t one or the 5-10 best receivers in the game doesn’t mean he’s not valuable to us.. the issue is as good as Tim white has been we had the opportunity to get a true alpha in Austin Mack and we went with Tim White instead.. when we needed a guy who can make a big catch in crunch time. The fact they were calling Nield Fantoz during training camp is laughable. He’s had more drops in crunch time than this whole team combined.

The message eventually gets stale. Look at Mike Tomlin for example. Good head coach. Wins a Super Bowl in his second year, makes another two years later. After that.. no playoff wins in his last 8 seasons as head coach. Painfully mediocre in the fact they weren’t bad enough to tank but not good enough to be a contender. I see us in a similar boat. We’ll likely finish 8-10 or 9-9 and either make the playoffs or miss out narrowly and get told the same song and dance we’ve been getting since we lost in 2022.. next year will be different; we have a good core, just a couple of mistakes nothing drastic, maybe one or two moves to bring in a vet.. Miller built up a lot of good grace from the fans over the years, but even the most casual fan can see the steep decline year after year.

I got to say. 2021 was the absolute peak of the era. I don’t care we technically had a better record in 2022 our defense was historic. It was a team that was built to punish you. I would argue the first cracks definitely came in 2023. 2024 we were resilient and won a lot of close games we shouldn’t after a terrible start. But by then I’d argue we were just another good team by then we weren’t great. It was so obvious there was major problems on the horizon but the g guys who are in charge of building the best team possible was completely blinded by 2019 and 2021. I get it there’s a lot of shared memories of sucess but the most frustrating thing to me is how obvious it was and how we had the nucleus to re structure and continue being a champion level team but Kyle and O’Shea refused to let “his guys “ before it was too late.

I’m can’t believe a team that’s wrapped up the east essentially by Labour Day came out hungrier, better prepared, more disciplined, more passion, and quite simply played like they wanted it more. Every time i think Winnipeg may turn the corner and come out hungry they lay an egg. I mean at this point we are what we are. A 7-10 win team. Wildly mediocre.

I think he’s shell shocked from his Ottawa stint. He got lit up time and time again. He used to be a warrior. Now he’s hearing the foot steps before they appear. constantly throwing off his back feet, even when the pocket is clean. Once that happens to a quarterback id say it’s impossible to fix. I knew Drew Willy was cooked when he started doing the same thing after he got manhandled in 2014. There’s no way to be fearless and cool in the pocket once you’re broken, plus the slight chance in your mechanics..

Kelly’s actually been pretty good the last couple of games and looked good early on in his career before the injuries. Serviceable player in my opinion.

Hogans schemes were so unbelievably amateur. He coached like he was coaching high school football. The fact he was aloud to stick around and have an opinion after the disaster last year is very telling. Condells problem is he starts trying to make his own adjustments before the opposing defense can. How many great looking drives did we have where Brady was involved only to get to the red zone and stop feeding him. Once the defense makes their adjustments he has no answer. Condell knew what kind of offence he wanted to run. You have similar players like Demski and and Pookie and you bring in Tim White who I like a lot but just feel when you have a guy like Austin Mack available, a true number one guy who can come down and make the hard and contested catches it made me realize there were going to run this offense no matter what. Maybe they expected Tommy Nield to be that possession guy but holy what a disappointment. Anyways. 4 games left not expecting much but hope Stringer continues to emerge. Having him and Pookie next year would atleast be a good start to whoever has control of this offense next season.

So where do I begin. Another game lost because the other team was able to make adjustments and we were. This game truly should not have been close. This team is coached so poorly right now. How many times have we seen something on offense work perfectly for about a quarter or even a half, and when the other team makes adjustments we were literally having games where we’re getting 20-30 yards a quarter after going for 200 the last. The inconsistency is just too much. That 10 point swing was a heart breaker, and the real game changer but how about using a challenge on an incomplete chance even though there is no possible way they’re going to over turn it. Not using that used time out cost us when every second counted late in a close game. Not to mention trying to kick 55 yards into the wind on third and three when Brady and Brown were hot. We just saw Grant return it to the house. Not only there a chance you miss but you have one of the goats back there that just took one to the house. Let’s face it he’s just not hungry anymore. Love him or hate him even the biggest haters would admit that he had his team disciplined and prepared. Now it’s neither. Heck the first couple of years when we weren’t good enough we would run trick teams on special teams and on offense just to try and win a game. I think we’ve had about one fake punt in the last several years and it didn’t work.. but there’s been so many times in the last three years when this team needed a spark and needed some points. I had to give up my season tickets this year because of my life schedule but it’s hard being a fan and seeing the slow sinking ship. I fear without change we’re just going to be treading water from this point out because let’s face it. The champions on this team are either old or retired. This team is no longer special and it’s been an amazing ride, but cross over games and 5th place is going to be our future if we don’t let go of the past.

Especially considering you have Grant back there that burned you. Im not saying always go for it and give up points but man third and a short 3.. just go for it. You know if Castillo misses it can mean 7 again.

So I’m watching the 2019 Western Semi finals against the stamps and I’m just kind of reminded. 2019 we trade for an established, but often injured quarterback who lost his job.. I turn on the tv and see the unexpected and even perhaps controversial trade of Kawhi Lenard to the Raptors.. 2019 was a good year for both teams im just saying ;)

34 year old special teamer who hasn’t played all season.

Zach is frustrating because he has some outstanding plays, but then some bone headed plays. He truly plays the best when he takes what the defense gives him but he looks to gun it out. The problem is he doesn’t have the arm he had in 2019 and even though he’s in good shape he definitely can’t evade the rush to create more time like he used to. Zach just can’t help himself.

100 percent. Another one is Ontaria Wilson. He had a rough start to the season before the big breakout against Calgary last year. He was so bad that most teams would have mostly likely cut him. But even if it’s frustrating as fans I’ll give O’Shea credit that he lets his guys work through it, I mean in his defense he sees these guys day after day in practise. He’s patient with the learning curve of a player. Vaval was also another one who has a tough start to his career. With another coach who knows what their professional football career looks like.

I gotta say Luke Wilson is fine as a commentator but he really doesn’t really understand the CFL game. He was calling the decision to take the wind in the fourth over possession of the ball in the second half bizzare. I call it genius. That was a deciding factor today. Notice how Harris barely threw deep until he had to and the ball hung in the air so that the bombers secondary could make a play on it. Giving up a possession in the third is no big deal to me. Especially when wind is a factor.

Just a stupid stupid formation and play call. Pound the ball.

Surprised Nield didn’t bobble it three times and then tip it to his Rider teammate for the interception. I’m still not convinced he’s not an under cover agent working for the riders.

Bad challenge. Absolutely no way that was going to be over turned.

Major is just such a baller. Always around the football. Often tested. Holds his own and then some. Love his attitude. One of the only bomber players out there that talk their **** and carry themselves with a certain amount of swagger. Doesn’t get the respect he deserves. I also agree about Smith. He is really on the cusp of becoming an outstanding player. Year two and he’s really starting to come into his own. I’m really disappointed about Connor Shay. I thought he would be the more prospect ready player but unsure if he’s going to take the leap that smith has.

White should have had that one.

Yeah you can’t take him out of the lineup now. If you have Wilson, White, Singer, with Demski and Clercius/Nield suddenly you’re looking at a pretty good receiving core.

I’ll say this. Going through the inconsistent revolving door of running backs to a Canadian runningback who could get the tough yards, catch the ball out of the backfield, and show up when its crunch time was such a noticeable difference for our football team and really the culture the bombers ended up building. Going from Harris to Oliveria feels like a smaller jump but Brady is just so good, and will end his career as not only the best Canadian running back of all time but truly one of the all time greats. Having Harris and then Oliveria has been such a luxury the bombers have never had before. It’s one of those things we’re going to miss when it’s gone.

Pretty close. Does anyone know if he’s still around in some capacity? I remember after he was banned here he went to the rider forum for a little bit and used to crap on the bombers to earn some good grace until they got tired of his schtick. I do remember him and some poster who claimed to be Ricky Foleys brother having some fun conversations. If I remember correctly he thought he was a big shot because his brother was a decent CFL player at one point.

Agreed. He’s a rookie just like any one else. Two things I’m glad he’s not doing is hurdling defenders like his prime Antonio Gates, and he’s falling foward instead of trying to make something happen. Honestly falling foward and having a 2nd and 2 or 3 is better then getting stopped and it’s 2’d and 4 or 5. Glad that he realizes sometimes less is more. Especially in the context of his role.
