Bombers at Stamps early chat
Arnold_Palmer replied to WinnipegGordo's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
I just don’t understand the anti CFL dudes, guys love the NFL and that’s understandable but these same guys are watching NCAA on saturdays, where our players were all super stars or at the very least stars, the talent is great in the CFL, the reason these guys are misses have to do with either coming from smaller schools or they just don’t fit the height and weight criteria the NFL loves looking at. I’m a big NFL guy but I’d watch the Bombers over an NFL game any day of the week. -
Bombers at Stamps early chat

It’s kind of worked out for us so far, but I think it’s absolutely idiotic we’re about to have our second bye of the season before B.C even gets their first. How in the world does that make sense? Oh well, glad Oliveria is working his way back, I’m curious to see if they let him sit knowing we have the bye and he can come back fully healthy in two weeks time. -
Bethel-Thompson is hot garbage. 201 yards on 41 passes with 2 INT’s with the best receiving core in the CFL btw. Just for comparison Zach completed nearly 85 percent of his passes for 334 and 3 touchdown passes to 0 INT’s and before anyone mentions the 50/50 balls that’s just part of his game you live by the sword or die by it. I truly don’t think there’s another QB in this league that hits Wheatfall like that for the touchdown pass.

I got to say Kramdi has simply been getting better every single year for us. Seeing him as a rotational player to what he is now has been incredible. He’s been absolutely lights out for the Bombers this year. He just always seems to be in the right spot at the right time. He had a great open field tackle on I think it was Gittens Jr. to limit him to six yards, if he doesn’t make that play it’s a huge gain, the trust Younger puts in his players when he sends 7-8 to know they can make a play or a tackle is incredible. -
I’m looking forward to seeing what kind of adjustments the offense can make. A+ for Hogan week 1, call it a generous C+ game two. Really want to see Schoen pop off as he’s been good not great so far. Hopefully Cooley continues to get a little bit of a bigger role today, and wondering what kind of plan we’re going to have for a good Elks D-Line. Hopefully quicker, shorter passes to open up the intermediate to deep throws instead of Zach chucking it deep in double coverage.
-
Yeah that was selfish, also no need to even call a pass on that play. Run some more clock, punt on third down and end the game. That stuff matters to the D, who played a hell of a game.

I see Tony Jones has become one of the new whipping boys for some reason. I know we had prime Bighill here for many years but Tony Jones is a damn good linebacker.

GDT - the Ford bro's vs the other Twin

He is not good. Dude makes it worse by holding onto the ball too long and when he feels pressure he moves out of the pocket instead of stepping into it, he’s always going to take a lot of sacks unless he learns to get rid of the ball faster and becomes more comfortable under pressure. -
Probably a smart decision from B.C, rib injury can be one of those long term lingering injuries, it’s a long season, no point risking further injury.
-
I’m not saying he’s Casey Printers, but.. B.C Lions, to the NFL, back to the CFL and numbers drop off significantly compared to their first stint does sound awfully familiar.
-
He’s definitely not an X’s and 0’s guy, maybe more like the football version of P.K Subban
-
I don’t think it will. They kept Strev in the pocket quite a bit. Zach has a better arm and I think he can hit those short to intermediate a little bit better, but I think you’ll see a lot of the same, steady ground game, play action, and schemes to get the ball into their playmakers hands.
-
Sucks but excited to see Peterson get more touches and maybe see what Cooley is all about in a bigger role. Hopefully Brady can get healthy and we get him back when it really matters.
-
Funny enough. JT played pretty good. I actually saw him disturb the pocket on more than one occasion. But in a rotational role he can actually provide something, the issue is last year they were playing him like he was prime Doug Brown.

Rourke was wound up, I mean it’s in his head at this point. He is never having any fun playing against our defense.

Something no one has mentioned so far was I thought Hogan called a hell of a game. We’re going to score a lot of points this season whether it’s number 17 or number 8, I really enjoyed some of the X’s and O’s He drew up. I think you’re going to see an opportunity for good receivers to make plays often in this offense. -
From the interviews I’ve heard from our OC and O’Shea they believe Strev can run our regular offense. No gimmick plays, or deployed as a glorified running back.

Blue Bombers - 2025 Regular Season - Discussion Thread

Friction? Based on that. I’m generally curious. I have listened to Hogans interviews and what O’Shea has had to say about Hogan and I’m impressed with his mindset and philosophy. Now that doesn’t necessarily mean he’s going to be the next hot shot coordinator, but it doesn’t give me reason to understand why the Bombers brass are so high on him and why he got the opportunity to run the offense. -
I guess they forgot to mention 39 year old Trevor Harris, 36 year old Michal Johnson, 35 year old Jermarcus Hardrick and the fact the majority of their free agent signings are all 32 year old plus players, hilarious. I love the young talent we brought in, in the past year plus, the silver lining of all those injuries last season was to give some of our younger talent the chance to develop.
-
He’s just straight up not a starting QB in this league. Par that with an average st best receiving core, I think offensively the Elks are going to be in tough again this season.
-
Sounds like his cycle ran out before heading back to the regular season.
-
The way Buck (a former QB) used Strev should be a crime. Absolute dog ****

I met the soon to be mother of my child at the Bomber game against B.C. our first date was August 3rd 2023 We beat the Lions 50-14, I had my last ever first date, Less then 2 years later, we have season tickets together, we bought a home, and we’re expecting our first kid together.
