Except we beat nothing but garbage teams with Nichols. We got a win over Calgary that was due to Janarion Grant and a timely interception, aside from that we beat horrible teams and pissed away a huge lead against Toronto. 
Collaros (2x), Streveler and Nichols all started against Calgary and Nichols had BY FAR the worst game of the bunch. Let’s stop pretending that Nichols had anything to do with our wins. We won a Grey Cup without Nichols, which is something we never came close to achieving with him. 

I think if you are a completely unbiased observer... and are a fan of both leagues... you could make the case that the super bowl was a more entertaining game...
Grey Cup: Bombers basically dominate the whole game... no real drama
Super Bowl: San Fran is 7 mins away from holding down the mighty KC offense... then they make an epic comeback for the win
However, as a Bomber fan... I enjoyed the Grey Cup much more

Arbuckle is asking for 450K, he likely gets more. Fajardo is around 450K IIRC. This is the standard market rate for a good but not great starting QB. 
 
Not to mention that Collaros is a big upgrade over Nichols. 

Toronto did not get Nichols?   The trade is a 1st rounder for Collaros and a Grey Cup.....     We made out like bandits with that trade!  I'll trade a 1st rounder for a starting QB + Grey Cup any day.

With Zack's history of concussions we'll need a viable backup in case we lose him for a long period of time.

So if you drop the Canadian ratio requirements how long until they start to push to homogenize the rules and we're left with just another 2nd rate american football league? 
Keep the Canadian in the Canadian Football League.

Yes it is much slower, to the point of dullness actually; even though there are some remarkable individual athletic plays..... I much prefer the Canadian field, rules, and game.
 
 
 

I completely disagree. Streveler isn't a pocket passing QB. He's a football player. He can take those hits, just the same way any receiver/running back could. And he proved it when he was running over linemen and linebackers. Could he get hurt? Sure. But that's football.

Much too simplistic. Part of the reason the young generation is attracted to the CFL game and it’s many intricacies is the diversity shown in the rules and the Canadian aspect. Did I care when I was young whether a player was Canadian or not? No, but when I found out how it worked, I was in on it. They were Canadians playing a Canadian game. What’s not to love?
I would argue the younger generation, when shown our game, will grow up to love the game no matter who’s the who behind the line of scrimmage.

Some bias? More like complete bias. Very few Canadians would be starting in the CFL if any, if there are no ratio rules. So, you'll get your wish with no Canadian qbs. As well as no other positions played by Canadians as well.

At the time of the injury, Masoli was the best qb in the CFL. Why would he be expected or be happy to be #2 in Hamilton? I believe that Masoli wasn't signed to be the backup. He was signed to start. Perhaps Ti Cat coaches & management weren't happy with Evans after the Grey Cup game as he looked to be in a huge snit the more hits & sacks he took. He  was yelling at his blockers & his body language was terrible. I remember Jim Barker trying to calm Evans down on the sidelines.  Mentally he had checked out of the Grey Cup game by the third quarter. Perhaps Steinhauer felt Evans needs another year to watch & learn how to remain calm & handle pressure? Just speculating here.
