  1. Serviceable would be a significant upgrade for us right now so I'm not complaining.
  2. Knapp and Howard both suck so I have no problem giving Tyler a chance.
  3. I think that we should give Willy a week of rest even if he can go this week. Despite the lack of confidence I have in Brohm, along with the importance of this game Willy's health is much more important long term than anything that could possibly happen this season. The last thing we need is for him to go out there and aggravate the injury.

  5. Now we just need to get him some stud receivers. Nick Moore is good but can't stay healthy, and he seems to have electrodes in his gloves that trigger on the opposition 20 yard line such that he lets go of the ball. We need a Chris Matthews type and a speedster that can get open to give Willy some options. Romby Bryant just ain't cutting it. Absolutely. Matthews - Moore - Denmark - Watson/JFG - Kohlert would be one of the best receiving cores in the league. There's no doubt we need better import talent then Kelly and especially Romby.
  6. Signing him to be our backup would've been nice.
  7. We don't really know what we have yet with Brohm. I'll go into the game cautiously optimistic. I hope you're considering that we could very well be in position to be tied with BC if we manage to pull this game out. Unfortunately, I fear that Brohm is more similar to Mike Quinn or Tee Martin then any competent backup.
  8. For a 29-30 year old QB? Don't see it. Yeah. Willy will be a solid starter but Ricky Ray? C'mon man! Absolutely. Willy has the command presence, the good mechanics and the ability to read defenses and react. All he needs is good QB coaching and experience- lets have this conversation next year at this time. I agree with you 100%. Willy is going to surprise some people with how much he improves in his second year starting. He's an absolute stud.
  9. Bowman has to be the most frustrating player in the entire league. I don't care how good he is, I couldn't handle having a player that inconsistent on my team.
  10. I'm afraid we have almost no chance of beating anybody sans Ottawa without Willy in the lineup.
  11. Not a good enough excuse. Look at the lack of continuity in Calgary's line. They keep shuffling guys in & out of their line up every game on their OL because of injury problems too yet they don't miss a beat offensively. The guys that back up the starters in Calgary & have been pressed into action could start all here & play well. We'd have a very good OL. Agreed. Even with our starters in the lineup our line has been nothing impressive.
  12. They are excellent. Until November. No doubt about that. That does seem to be their only downfall, when games start to matter, they tend to crap the bed. But they aren't relying on Glen this year. Been going on for longer than glenn was there. It seems to be a trend of sorts in Calgary the last few years actually, very good to dominate regular season, crap the bed in the playoffs. Burris isn't any better than Glenn in that regard.
  13. Stumps.
  14. Well that messes up my lock of the week pick. Who starts in his place?
  15. rightly so. You don't need 10 wins to make the playoffs, you need to win the right games. Being 1-5 against the west division thus far certainly doesn't get you into a playoff position. That doesn't make any sense considering that we're on track to miss the playoffs at 9-9. Less wins against the East and more against the West and maybe 9-9 would get you in. 9-9 is still 9-9 no matter what way you slice it. No Western team was finishing with under ten wins(aside from maybe us)and that is especially true at this point in the season. Not only that, but its completely unrealistic to think we'd be winning less games against the East and more games against the West. Going something along the lines of 6-2 against the East and 4-6 against the West would be a reasonable figure to make it in. 1-5 against your division rivals just doesn't cut it though.
  16. But if we increase the usage would their production go down? I'm fine with the way both of them are being used.

  18. I remember getting laughed at earlier in the season when I suggested that we needed a minimum of ten wins to make the playoffs.
  19. No its a fantastic idea, especially given our ratio problems and one that many of us here have suggested time and time again.
  20. Dunn/Kuale/Sherman is easily the worst linebacker core in the league.
  21. Romby Bryant heading to the bench is an improvement by default.
  22. You don't like football discussion between rivals? Relax it's all in fun. I think people just liked it better when this was the place to go for intelligent football discussion. Suddenly Shankman doesn't seem so bad.... Is this the official start of the ''recruit Shankman to morningbigblue'' movement?
  23. What are six games of Westerman worth? A late round draft pick?
  24. Three winnable games and we need to win at least two of them to remain in the hunt. There's absolutely no reason we should lose at home to Hamilton or on the road in Ottawa. That's with or without Drew Willy.
  25. I would die of laughter if Ricky Foley got traded for Henry Burris.
