  1. A little too early to start drinking isn't it?
  2. Kohlert's the player we sign of the 2 (Etienne & Kohlert). If I was going to gamble, I'd protect Kohlert then make sure he gets signed but leave Etienne exposed to Ottawa. If Etienne isn't selected & wants to come back here then he has to take a significant pay cut to do so based on his numbers the past 3 seasons. All first rounders get paid $85-95,000 a season. He then takes a 25-35% pay cut on a new contract. If he balks then sayonara, kid. Best of luck as he won't get any better offers even in his beloved home land. No they don't. None of them do. If they are lucky they can make that if they reach performance bonuses. Muamba isn't making close to that in base salary on his current deal. So, you're saying Henoc Muamba makes $45,000 a year? Really, do tell? When Chris Bauman signed with the Stamps after bouncing atound the CFL (inc Winnipeg) after he was selected as the very first pick in the draft back whenever, his salary for a backup depth receiver on the Stamps that they are paying him now is about $135,000 a year according to people in the know. And you're saying Etienne makes what, $35,000?? Forty?? Why would a first round pick sacrifice his body & his time to get paid that? He could get a job paying more money. There's no way Bauman made as much as he is now as his current deal (if thats the right number)
  3. Both of the int's were taken away by blatant pass interference calls, which, if the receivers hadn't been interfered with, they probably would have caught the ball. There's reasons to doubt Hall, but you can't say that the INT's were just "taken away by penalties" - they occurred due to illegal acts by the Montreal players. The first interception was taken away by a penalty from Chip Cox who was on the other side of the field. You're right about the second though, Parker literally pushed Kohlert down and then intercepted the ball. Re first interception/PI Right call, wrong player. That seemed to be the story line of today's game when it came to the officiating
  4. Brandon London Has had the case of the dropsies lately. Playing the Bombers should fix that
  5. Lawless was tweeting his thoughts during Saturdays game. His thought process was, you can get an import MLB for less money and use Henoc's passport and play in trade value to get a legit QB and not have to give Henoc his much due raise. I get it, but don't necessarily agree. Henoc is in his 3rd year in the league and still hasn't hit his ceiling.
  6. DA and Smith are listed as starters for tomorrow's games (just to get Iso going;) )
  7. I'm afraid to ask this because it sounds like I should know but what are you talking about? I think the Riders Jersey has one
  8. According to Anderson his penalty was due to the whole game of Dirtiness from Picard and couldn't take it anymore . Whether or not the punch just happened to have be during that altercation, I don't think we'll know unless Anderson himself tells us.
  9. In that case, I guess Ed Hervey was right when he said Sams wouldn't be calling any more plays. I guess Gary Crowton is.
  10. I imagine The Bombers knew of the NFL aspirations and the conversation went something like this. Bombers: Hey Aaron, want to play football for us? Aaron: Yes, but I have NFL aspirations Bombers: *snickers* sure, come up north and if they come calling, we'll let you go and if it doesn't work out, you can come back Aaron: great!
  11. It was a mutual agreement to let him ago if opportunities arose and for him to come back.
  12. Tim Burke just said there was an agreement when he signed that if there was NFL interest he would leave but return if it didn't pan out.
  13. Would that crappola new stadium in Hamilton have been built if it wasn't for the Pan Am Games? No way at all. They'd be stuck in the old Never Win Stadium until it collapsed. It's 100% taxpayer funded. So...what's your point? Ours will end up being taxpayer funded too. Reread my first sentence. That's my point. The community in Hamilton would never build the Ti Cats a new stand alone football stadium... Had to be a sporting event to get it done. And if it wasn't for the Bisons, IGF doesn't get funding
  14. I would rate it as one of the more realistic neg lists in the league So when Penton had one of his CFL insiders tell him that the Bombers neg list was the worst in the League according to the insider's GM that insider/GM is full of hooey? I think what Mike meant, that since neg list players rarely end up as anything (Remember when Taman neg listed Deion Sanders?) that our neg list have the most potential of ending up on our roster. Penton's source may be right but really means nothing.
  15. I get what you're saying but a 1-7 team sure shouldn't have a lot of positives to talk about.
