Love that JFG comes in for Sheppard if Flanders is in for Harris. We talked all week about JFG/Denmark but this swap makes way more sense. JFG can block and while not as tall as Sheppard, is still a bigger body.

JFG is not bigger than Sheppard and it's been reported Sheppard is a very good blocker.

It goes on because quite frankly there are holes the size of countries in her story. You do know that sometimes people lie right to get attention and free stuff.

Wow...you're serious? People really do that? Holes the size of countries? That's a good one seeing as you weren't there.

  3. Good grief...the majority of you read an article which is usually not completely factual when written by journalists. Now many of you are jumping to conclusions and even some suggesting the woman made it up or is embellishing.

I watched the woman in a live interview and her son was there. She did not come across as the embellishing type to me. The things she said seemed to be matter of fact the way she related them. She was very grateful to the Bomber organization and so was her son, but they certainly weren't jumping up and down for joy.

I say let's end this ridiculous conjecture here...it accomplishes NOTHING!

  4. Over the last 2 years, our Free Agent workouts have produced seven starting players including the 2014 Most Outstanding Defensive Player of the Year candidate, DB Maurice Leggett, and 2015 Rookie of the Year candidate, LB Khalil Bass. Both players started their CFL careers through Winnipeg Blue Bombers Free Agent workouts. Another nine players have been steady contributors to the roster as back-ups and special team players.

We have had 6 players from our 2015 roster sign NFL Futures contracts, more than any other CFL team.

Please be sure to register for a workout via email with the designated contact listed below. Register prior to the workout and guarantee yourself a spot.

Ehh all 4 of our qbs have very similar tool kits. 3/4 more and more athletic then willy and nichols. Nichols doesnt shed tackles much better then willy, thats for sure. When hes playing at his best his release mechanic /throwing motion is smooth and straight and his footwork is crisp. None of the guys have a great arm on them, but get by with touch and ball placement like most cfl qbs. Touch on the wide field gets you a lot further then raw arm strength.

Idk if id say mental strength was willys strong suit but its certainly whats failed. Hearing foot steps and forcing his passes. He was throwing at peoples feet especially mid+ and over the middle. Which is what you see when a qb is forcing the ball, trying to throw it too hard it doesnt leave the hand cleanly / gripping the ball too hard.

Pretty much bang on with nichols and willy, I dont know that willy has the potential to full fill his potential here any more. BUt no one will know untill we see him on the field here again/ or if we do.

Again...you lost your credibility when you said that Lapo would be fired before seasons end and Buck would take over! You try to make youself sound like an expert but you are not obviously. Since when have you seen enough of our 3rd and 4th QB's to form such definite statments?

The DB is entitled to the ground he is standing on. You absolutely can block someone from coming back to the ball by having inside position on them, its called coverage. You can't however push them or prevent them from doing so with your hands. If you believe that Dressler had a prayer of catching that ball from where he was standing you are wrong IMHO. If you want to argue the hands back and forth magically put Dressler on the wrong side of the DB, well that's a thin argument also. Nichols totally underthrew the ball, that's why it was picked off. I guess the question is whether or not the hands back and forth made the difference as to whether or not the receiver had a shot at the ball, IMO it definitely did not. Was there contact beyond five yards, Yes there was. Was it a pretty thin call, yes it was. Am I crying about, no I am not. Game shouldn't have came down to one play anyway. Bombers won fair and square.

You obviously are crying about it otherwise you would let it go.

No i mean putting passes between the numbers, not forcing guys to lay out and leave them self vulnerable which he did countless times. You right he did hit some guys in stride and did so better in this game then the past games, but the majority of his passes beyond mid range are far off the man.

idk who eric M is, but we make very very little use out of the fade route.

You lost all credibility when you said that Lapo would be fired before years end and Buck would take over!

Said that, but forced up atleast 2 passes into coverage he should not have.

Its not just stretching the field. We had big runs from harris all day and just stopped running for long periods of time. Some awful play calls. That shot gun draw in the red zone when sask was stacking the line for instance.

Denmark didnt get all the looks. Not gonna have 2 150 yard receivers in one game.

I am beginning to think you just don't know as much as you think you do...you just want to pick apart everything whether it is fact or not.

Yeah, its just not sustainable to kick 7 field goals and be +4 on turnovers or better every game. Needing that to win a nail biter is how you miss the play offs for several years, dont win a grey cup in 20+, and have multiple sub 4 win seasons in the last hand full of years.

We had drops, and we had misses. Nichols talked in the ob post game show about missing guys out there. Early on he was kinda shaky. Didnt look comfortable in the pocket.

This game, our play calling was awful. I credit that a lot with our missed chances. Drops, and sub par execution in general certainly didnt help. Nichols had guys in great position and threw wide and low several times too. Some times what most fans see as a drop, was actual a great effort to get to a ball that was heavily over thrown.

If lapo had called a half decent game imop we have 30-35 points by half. Harris was tearing up the sask D and went a huge period of time with out a carry. During which we gave dressler runs twice. The run was soo hard on the riders what little play action we used worked great. But we didnt use it consistently etc.

Nichols needs to be better, our wrs need to be better, but plop more then any one else needs to get it together. I could see him getting fired mid season and Buck pierce taking over at this rate.

Most of this must be a joke...Lapo getting fired and Buck taking over? Give your head a bigger shake than usual...it's getting worse!

I think it's hard to keep more than one of Smith and McDuffie on.  McDuffie has unique skills in terms of speed but isn't the most polished.  Sheppard can play a role that Lapo loves.  Might be moot with Adams, but with Smith ready I think our best lineup is Denmark, Dressler, Smith and Sheppard.  Might try to DI McDuffie to rotate in but that means taking someone off the DL or special teams.

Hmmm...thought McDuffie looked pretty shiny to me as he has all through training camp.

Was it me or did the Als crowd seem extra annoying with either the air horns or whatever they were using to make noise? Made it very annoying to listen on the radio and to also watch it on tv.

Not just you...drove me up the wall...TSN always puts mics too close to the crowd...I noticed in the Vikings game yesterday, which is in the new stadium supposed to be the loudest anywhere...that you could not hear the crowd noise...only the QB and the play by play and color guys. TSN is bush league for broadcasts...just need to look at how they keep using Rod Black all these years. By the way...wonder where he is? Nice guy but let him do ice skating.

I'm not even just talking about last night tho. Our D is averaging like 5 turnovers a game the last 4 games.

Ya montreal has a very good D but when you begin 3 drives inside the Montreal 35 pretty much and come away with 3 fgs.... that's not very good O production. Even 1 touchdown there would have made a difference.  Gotta make teams pay for their mistakes with TDS.

And no... I know there's another team on the field.... I mean Cmon I've watched for 20 years now.... Bombers need to be better in the red zone. Need more tds

Did you know that mo Leggett has 3 pick 6 tds and No bomber receiver has 3. That's an issue. Need more production from the O. Most nights 1 td a game won't do it

So the offence wasn't good enough taking advantage in the Hamilton game?

probably has to do with all the dropped returns, and the 2 bad drops when we tried to work him into wr before he got banged up. hes hit or miss. Bowman esq (but not that bad)

Hes showing legit flashes. But jace davis was doing similar early in the season. Lets hope he can keep it up.

All the dropped returns? Give your head a shake! Bad drops? every receiver has bad drops.

So now there's not only positrons and negatrons but willy mavens and Nichols lovers I guess ??

Perhaps it's just me but I don't really give a crap who the qb is... it's irrelevant.... I don't know why pointing out flaws is considered hating Nichols and loving Willy. It's not about Nichols or Willy.  It's about winning a game. Yeah they have done that 4 times in a row now but if you aren't winning when your D is forcing huge amounts of turnovers you have problems. It's great that we are winning but make no mistake about it.... it's 99 percent on the backs of our D and special teams.  6 turnovers and we win by what? 14? Should be winning by double that getting 6 turnovers a game and I get that's it's not all on the qb.

You totally ignore the fact that there is another team's defence on the field and a very good one.

The point I was trying to make is that none of those 7 players can come back early, even if they are ready, because their entire salaries would then count towards the SMS.

As I've said before, I know that Willy won't be cut. The question's never been 'What will the Bombers do?', it's been 'What should the Bombers do?'. It's not 'How can we afford it?', it's 'Is paying Willy that much money to warm the bench the best use of the money?'.

Sure, we set aside a certain amount for the QB spot and Nichols bonus will put us $100K over that number. Assuming we can find it without taking from Willy's salary we'd have an extra $150-200K to extend players we want to keep like Chungh or to sign a couple of $150-200K players (It's half the season). I think that's better than paying Willy. You don't. It's as simple as that.

Your arguments fit the perfect definition of tunnel vision.
