A few times this year plop has been applauded for good game plans. On here, and in the media. Over all though, many seem to be critical of him. (my self included)

Throwing it out now as post season success or lack of would dramatically skew the results.

    Offensive stats.

    2nd fewest turn overs.

    3rd fewest sacks allowed.

    8th for time of possession.

    5th in rush yards.

3 way tie for 4th in rushing tds.

    8th in passing tds.

6th in passing yards (only none play off teams below us)

4th in points scored. Including Fgs, xpts, points scored by the D.

Success of the smith package, wr sweep/reverse.

Smith 5 carries for 5 yards. Darvin adams, 1 carry 1 yard. dressler 5 carries 45 yards (20 on one) kohlert 1 carry -1 yard. Mcduffie 3- 17 yards.

DI useage. Mcduffie had 6 games with 0 catches. 1 game he had 153 1 td out of 241 for 1 td for the year.

Flanders started 3 games and was DI'd 4 times. In those 4 games he got 4 runs and 1 catch.

Harris played great but only reached or passed 20 carries in a game once. He wasnt used heavily in bc as a runner but still had a down year in terms of tds avg etc. But the OL to start the year was brutal. An offence like ours should have used him much more though. We shouldnt go quarters and halves of games with out him involved.

We brought in gurley, but made very little use of him. No end zone fades.

We saw strong success with nichols on the roll when teams were aggressive, but then would go away from it. Shot gun plays in the red zone, Not making good use of play action, screens shovel pass, fades etc in the red zone. 2nd and short draw plays. We also lacked diversity in our run plays. Despite harris doing very well on off tackle runs stretches etc.

Does making the play offs and early season qb/ol changes buy him another year?

Yup...you were the guy who said many games ago that Lapolice would be replaced with Buck before the end of the season...You're dislike for him is obvious and you cherry pick stats to try and prove your point. Forget about stats, when was the last time we won 11 games and could have been more if not for Drew Willy?

A few days ago I posted that O'Shea's pig-headedness would mean that Nichols would not be pulled until a minute or two was left in the game and my tongue-in-cheek comment proved to be true and almost disastrous. If O'Shea has not figured out these very basic team management skills, he is probably not the head coach we need. Even more sadly, I expect him to be re-signed.

Well Tracker...then you can always go cheer for some other team...we would hate for you to be sad.

maybe waggoner at LBer for bass/burnett depending on if wild/mo are good to go. Or corney at the 2nd DE spot. Or more likely rotate waggoner corney and jake thomas. Course if he took the burnett spot part time or full time or if corney went in for cole id DI burnett/cole for rotational and teams use.

Corney has done very little the whole year while doing spot duty.

I think one of the points being made here is that it may not be DD but, in actuality, Hufnagel who is making the decisions. That is a huge advantage compared to what O'Shea has had to work with. I still think the biggest difference between DD and MOS are the resumes of each. DD was just much better prepared to be a HC than MOS was. Mike is better in year 3 than he was in year 1 and I think most realized he had a steep learning curve to climb and were willing to wait. Unfortunately I believe his stubbornness has hindered his ability to learn quickly and adapt. I also believe his cozy relationship with Kyle Walters has him feeling very secure.

The question for me is, is there anyone better available right now worthy of making a coaching change? The only name that comes to mind is Mark Trestman. But that's me and I don't get to make that determination. Wade Miller and Kyle Walters do and I sincerely doubt either has approached Trestman and I think that's a mistake.

Some people just never happy...that's you and Tburg

kohlert smith and dressler all missed in very similar fashion for easy tds.

Pretty much. If he can keep it up is some what questionable though. Hes had what 4 picks called back on penalties in the last 4 games? Tons of db drops before that. But he does show steady but not flashy improvement. It will be interesting to see but probably not some thing we will know till next year.

Is that before or after Lapo gets fired and Buck takes over?

Points off turn over are huge, game changing events. They can be really big too, if they help you flip bad field position even if you dont score though too. If you force a turn over in the red zone then drive for 2-3 first downs get a good punt and pin em deep in there own end thats massive momentum and a good rest for the D. But yeah scoring off turn overs is huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuge.

Thanks for the education...not sure any of us would have figured that out!

because roids body is a myth. It can modify hard work but it doesnt create muscle on its own. And its used in sports for recovery. James toney body.

    1. We had guys likes Picard and Morley getting beat snap after snap

    2. Reilly usually gets hit when he scrambles to extend plays. He has a very reckless playing style - that's not on his OL

    3. Given what the Argos gave up to get him - they are clearly of the belief that Drew Willy can still be effective

Reilly wouldn't have to scramble so much if he had a good oline

Gurley for sure.....Rumour was that we were trying to pry him out of T.O. with that trade for Willy, but Milonavitch put the kibosh on it and we ended up with Heath .... Not that's not a good thing but I'm sure we had interest...It's a no-brainer to go after him now....Can't figure Milonavitch out with this one....If he wanted to keep Gurley then...what has happened since????

Apparently it was the other way around...Walters insisted on Heath...Barker didn't want to part with him...Walters got what he wanted.

Both willy and nichols in this system have tended to throw passes that put WRs in a dangerous position, one that means they dive to make catches or stretch out and cant protect them self while making a catch.

That is BS...you make it sound like that happens virtually every play....you obviously don't know as much as you try to make us think you do...when did you say Lapo is getting fired and replaced by Buck?

quick step isnt the same thing as flat out speed. And a quick step to close, and get out of the back peddle is whats needed. Quickness, fluid hips but its a technical position. The 6 (5 and 6 are tied) fastest 40 times in nfl during the electronic timing era has 1 cornerback, 3 wrs and a return specialist whose listed as a wr/kr.  going back to mix timed eras (manual start electronic finish) times are close, with more wrs in total and a far greater standard deviation. You have guys running 4.7 and slower who are 6'5 230+ and fringe Tes.

you think a lot of dbs are returners compared to wrs? Out of the top 10 punt returners in the cfl, 2 are dbs, on kick offs, 1. Tristan jackson in ott is 6th in punts and 7th in kick offs. And he doesnt get reps on D this year short of being used in a pinch.

actually most kick returners are specialists who are listed as wrs, not many of them play wr on a regular basis.

Part of me hopes that LaPolice gets a head coaching GIG somewhere this off-season so we can have a NEW OC and perhaps a little more creativity shown. I think at times, the O play calling is holding the team back a bit.. a little to conservative for my liking.

Yes...lets get rid of a coach who is in the middle of a 7 game winning streak because you are bored.
