I could watch this play every single day for the rest of my life.

It is unfortunate, but expected. If these trials didn't come up with any hiccups, I would be ver suspect in the safety of the vaccine- the large clinical trials are working as intended.
 
A 1 in 2000 chance to develope a debilitating or fatal side effect would have devastating consequences of it slipped through the clinical trial process. Its a good thing that they are investigating these "mysterious illnesses".

We do most of our shopping in Winkler. Here are some things from our last 2 trips. We had things to pick up at Wal-Mart and the maskless lady in front of us was stopped and given the choice of buying one for a buck or leaving . She left. In the entire store there was maybe 2 or 3 that were not masked.Probably %99 compliance.  We went to the Super Store for groceries.Despite the big sign claiming they have made masks mandatory there was no one watching the front. I would estimate less than %50 of customers were wearing masks. Worse yet , maskless staff with carts blocking half the aisle restocking shelves. Canadian Tire ? Maybe % 5 of customers with masks and not a single solitary worker had one on . I have a deep suspicion that comes from management. I fully expect a massive outbreak in Southern Health.

If people don't go to jail over what this administration has done and is attempting to do then I hope America burns.

They have staggered lunch breaks and social distancing is enforced.  They also have dividers setup too so close contact with others during their breaks is limited as much as possible.  Masks are worn at all other times and you get your temp taken before you can even enter the plant.  Anyone with symptoms gets sent home or isn't allowed to come to work until they get tested.  Up to this point no covid cases can be traced to someone actually catching it at Maple Leaf.  But with 2000+/- employees there was always going to be a chance there would be outbreaks outside of work.  Outbreaks from people carpooling to work, working part time jobs together at places that don't enforce distancing and mask wearing, having backyard parties over the long weekend and then testing positive a week later, flying back from Montreal and hanging out with friends instead of self isolating, etc.  Can't speak for other parts of the province but we got pretty complacent here in Westman.  Now we're paying for it.  

I have an uncle in ICU, and my aunt or any other family can't even visit.  I think anyone still not taking Covid seriously - should be required to explain their actions to people who have been impacted like that.  

With Cargill, it didn't happen till they had over 100 cases.  And that was with beef cattle, that can just be left on pasture.
There will be thousands of hogs euthanized if (when) Maple Leaf shuts down.
We used to have dozens of slaughter houses in Manitoba, with employees who were well compensated, but I guess the current model is more progressive. /sarcasm

A shortened season is a win-win for a pessimist like me. There is no downside!
