  1. Beginning of the end for Stadia, like so many other Google companies it will get shut down shortly.
  2. Yes because they had/have zero star players before hand and zero depth players.
  3. We could always sign him as a rookie and then he could also pursue his dream of working alongside Adam Bighill in the off season as a financial advisor making a few extra bucks on the side
  4. 2018 was a wet summer & fall 2019 was a really hot dry early summer and then terribly wet late summer/fall 2020 was really good. How I know.... my wife in early 2018 requested for me to work on our deck/gazebo and I procrastinated... by August it was raining every few days and I didn't get a chance to work on it and stain it because we never had a nice 5 day streak of nice weather. The amount of "I told you so" and nagging I endured throughout that fall and winter was severe. 2019 rolls around and we do have nice weather, turns out that our deck was constructed poorly and I had to basically rebuild it and it took almost a month for me to rebuild it and stain it. I remember burning badly because it was obscenely hot outside. I finally finished the deck and erected our new gazebo. Naturally the moment I finished it was the moment our nice weather ended and it kept raining and raining and we did not have a streak of nice weather. Once again I endured more "I told you so" , "Would of been nice to use the deck" and more severe reminders and nagging throughout another fall/winter. 2020 arrives... we have a very nice summer and fall and we used the deck many times. However the nagging did not stop with my wife saying "See we could of enjoyed doing this over the last two summers had you not procrastinated". Moral of the story... it rained a lot and I will not procrastinate in the future.
  5. All I know is that TSN is obessed with Hughes and over the last 5 years on both teams he played for they continously would show his stupid mug shot and would fawn over him at all times. They'll die if he doesn't sign somewhere.
  6. In fairness... how many times in the last 10 years have we seen some teams make big splashes in free agency with 2 - 3 big names only for them to still fizzle out come the regular season. I could see if a team was really good all around and then they add a QB to fill in the missing piece. Toronto and Ottawa were all sorts of bad all around and they'll need to to really fill out the team with solid depth players to make them contenders.
  7. Not to speak ill of the dead, but the guy post Saved by the Bell was a gong show and he completely shitted on everyone on the show afterwards. Even if he was healthy no way would they want him around after all the lies and crap he said about the producers and his cast mates. Not to mention the porn tape and the scam he and his wife pulled where they lied about being homeless and begged and pocketed the money. Bad dude all around.
  8. It was clear that Speller already had a deal in place from Toronto and that Walters tried to get something out of nothing. My only complaint is how the league can can turn a blind eye on these things always happening. The fact that the Blue had to give up a 6th rounder makes it very suspicious.
  9. Big mistake by Ottawa... throwing away a QB with potential and who is healthy for a guy on a steep decline and has maybe top two seasons left in him. If we are to believe 17to85... did they really need to sign Nichols if the gameplan revolves around 5 yard passes? Couldn't they sign any immobile QB at a cheaper rate to dink and dunk passes? Big time upgrade for Toronto and if they get MBT back then they'll at least have some decent CFL experience QB's who can throw the ball.
  10. As much as I spread the word on how Nichols is done.... it's a no brainer to cut him before that bonus. They can always sign him again afterwards since his options will be very limited.
  11. If you were to read the game day threads on riderfans when he played... you would believe that this guy was the next chosen one and the next all star in the league.
  12. Masoli can pull a pay cheque from Hamilton for 3 - 5 years as a back up doing limited reps compared to going to Toronto with a much higher chance of suffering long term injuries and only lasting 1 - 2 years.
  13. Because the only availble options for starting QB are in places where the teams are in rebuild mode in which most likely he will get beaten down over and over again. He enjoys playing in Hamilton and maybe is loyal to the franchise?
  14. It would of been nice if we had a neg list player or something slightly better. Toronto losing 4 spots late in the draft for a starter is a steal for them.
  15. Lots of our guys could of bolted for more money as well... sometimes money is not everything. Maybe he's happy making less sitting on a bench instead of going to Toronto and getting absolutely mauled for a few extra bucks.
  16. Lowry has 7 points so far this season... he had only 10 last season after 49 games last season.
  17. *If* they were to go with Jones then they would be getting rid of Thorpe also.
  18. Define unreasonable amount... maybe BC is looking at the Blue where we got great deals on some of our guys and think that they can do the same.
  19. It might work for the 49ers since the price for Watson is going to be really really steep. Stafford can be had for Jimmy G + 1st rounder and maybe some other throw in.
  20. I wouldn't get to excited about the early start considering we played against a rebuilding Ottawa team (a.k.a not a good team).
  21. I watched the fight card.... it was very dull with exception of the Main and Co-Main event. The McGregor brand definitely will take a hit tonight. I'm not sure if the casual fans realize or not that Connor is the ultimate showman but the illusion that the UFC and his own marketing made it out as him being the best in the world is starting to fade. The guy is entertaining and very good... but he is no GSP , Khabib, Anderson (in his prime) type of fighter. At this point though he's made so much money it probably would be wise of him to stop calling out the elite and just take fun fights where he can win.
  22. I'll defend Stafford just like Watson..... the man has produced on some absolutely awful teams and some of the absolute worst coaches and gms ever seen in the league. I'm just not sure about his health at this point so I can't see the Lions getting a huge return for him. As a 49ers fan... I'll take Stafford no questions asked.
  23. I don't think the night life is terrible in Winnipeg, but it's more spread out in pockets around town while other big cities have a proper downtown with a large group of people in a central location. Also not every single player is an Evander Kane ding dong, even guys on our team like Laine / Ehlers were nerds and would rather play Fortnite then to go around town drinking and coking out. I don't think it's impossible for players wanting to play in Winnipeg.
  24. I think a lot of people are focusing on people not wanting to sign in Winnipeg because of the city. My opinion (might be way off) it seems like the players don't want to sign because of Maurice.
  25. Looking online of the pictures people posted of Polo Park and other malls... you'd think it's Christmas again with everyone out shopping.
