Phillip Rivers is probably in the discussion for top 15 QB all time in the NFL and he's familiar with the Colts system, so it somewhat made sense to sign him. The NFL will cycle through the same 4th stringers who have a tiny bit of game experience over giving any new guy a decent shot. With every year a new batch of QB's coming in , it will be near impossible for Elgersma to get any sort of chance to stick with a club. The NFL is a weird league in that way.

Last season he had 11 games with 19+ touches , 5 games with less (including the two games where he was injured) one with 18 and another with 15. 30 might be a bit high, but the 20 number is the average number assuming he doesn't leave the game injured. Tyson Philpot had 61 receptions and 2 carries ... Brady had 61 receptions and 201 carries. Add in the intangibles of having to block and Brady is significantly more impactful then Philpot. It's easy to put an import in at RB when your team is loaded with talented Canadian players elsewhere. This team is razor thin on Canadian talent (outside of Brady/Demski). Dumping the best player in his prime who is Canadian simply to "hope" that you can land a talented Canadian oline/dline guy in free agency would be a terrible idea. Pay Brady, dump a guy like Neufeld who is over the hill and save money by replacing him with an American at a cheaper price. American Olinemen are a dime a dozen.

Cameron Dukes sounds like he's making up a Frank Dux like story. I don't believe it.

Tyson might touch the ball 5 - 8 times per game.... Brady is touching the ball 20-30 times.... much more value in a RB then a WR.

I don't see how out of all of our players this guy couldn't qualify for the marketing money. I'd hope a good chunk is covered for marketing. 3 years for a guy in his prime that has "pardon the pun" carried the team over the last two seasons. Great signing.

Many true crime and tv shows covered the murder. It's a fascinating story about a crazed fan who worked her way into being in charge of her fan club. She was fired after stealing money and took revenge by killing Selena. I think Dateline has a really good episode covering it. That being said the dad dying isn't exactly worthy of being on this thread.

Why in the hell would Cameron Dukes out of anyone in the CFL would be the one receiving death threats? Unless he overheard a drunk fan saying something lame to him in a game and is blowing up something small into something big.

I blame the guy who purposely avoids putting the best players on the field which would then give us the best chance at winning.

He has one more big pay day and 2 good years at least left in him. I wouldn't want to pay $300 000. But I'd have zero issues if it was $250 000. We will need him for the next two years while we buy time in bringing in a real QB.

When it first opened it was really good. Decent sized portions for both the adult and kids meals and everything was above average. The last two times we went the service was extremely slow to a point where I had to find the server to see if they had forgotten our order. The meat was dried out and the portions were extremely frugal. My adult meal was smaller then what they used to serve as kids meals.

I sure hope it is near Transcona. Famous Dave's has gone from good to really bad over the last several years and the Belle's place is not our cup of tea. I really miss the days of Loveys

You don't like a QB making 600k when he has sparkling numbers such as 34 TD and 31 Ints over the last 2 seasons.

His 777 yards would have made him our 2nd leading receiver.

Barker was awful on TSN, shallow insight and out of touch opinions. LaPo is a million times better then him on TSN. Did they ever acknowledge or mention Matt at all since he left?

He has good escapability. The mobility can be a weapon if they avoid using him as a battering ram like Strev.

It's a tough call because Willie is the only guy on the line who seems to ever generate any sort of pressure or make any kind of plays ever for us. Is this an indication that he still is elite... or is he only noticeable because everyone else is so god awful.

When I used to work downtown I would get Cookies By George, those were always a hit. Those were "gourmet" cookies and considered expensive at $3.00 per cookie. Oh Doughnuts the same at around $4 per doughnut. This is double the price and it's only a cookie. Those cookies better be the size of a small pizza at those prices....

Burrito Splendido moved out a few months ago, I believe they are moving to a larger location in the area. No idea on the address as of yet. Going on the Crumbl site... $6 -$8 per cookie!! I wish them luck but I can't imagine that place staying open for long. Several other bakeries/cupcake places have opened and closed recently in the area.

I read on here about what the CFL / Bombers can do to grow the game locally. So we have a hometown superstar who plays his ass off and is the best player at this position and is Canadian in his prime. Our response... lets save a few little dollars and go American. It baffles me on why people would want BO out the door. Pay the man he's worth every dollar ten times over. It's like $100 000 is apparently a massive amount of money to save on. We have $600 000 wasted on the QB position that is not nearly worth that coin. How about we cut that guy or spend $100 000 less on an olineman that is American. Brady is one of a very few guys on this team that we must keep.
