  1. The victory celebration is well under way...
  2. I laughed way too hard at this.... only cuz I was thinking the same thing I purposely avoided opening this thread at work... for the same reason!
  3. And maybe Logan's on welfare & lives in his parents basement. BTW, you have any idea how hard it is to get to the NCAA & the NFL even if he didn't make it? First, the competition coming out of high school, then to get recruited, to play well enough for 4 years to get drafted? The amount of work in the weight room & speed as well as conditioning year round? Being lazy has nothing to do with it. I don't think you have any clue. Logan can call Bruce a lot of things but being a typical lazy American? Nah. I have family in the US. One is in the Coast Guard in Oregon. Another is a civil engineer with the US Army Corps of Engineers. They're highly motivated over achievers. So,I take exception to the wide brush comment. Interesting that you jump all over this generalization when less than a month ago...
  4. Back on topic, I haven't had any issued with Shaw's costumer service any time I've had to deal with them. Rogers has been a bit less helpful but nothing to write about. I had MTS years ago before moving into my current home & had way more hassles with them than I've ever had with Shaw. Now my biggest beef with them now is their TV set-up. Their current set-up leaves gaps in where you can get TV service from them in the city. I live in one of these gaps so I can't get their TV (I can get phone & internet) but my neighbour directly across the street can? It was pretty funny a couple years ago when they would spam my mailbox with flyers bragging about their new HD services when I can't even sign up for their non-HD stuff. I'm happy with Shaw (there could definitely be improvements) and even if I could switch to MTS, I'm not sure that I would.... but I'd at least like the option!
  5. Check the injury reports. I was going to say something... but then I realized I'd be helping a Rider fan!
  6. A few years ago officials made between $550-850 per game. Bud Steen said the most he ever made in a season was 15k.
  7. I don't know if he gets cut but he's gotta be conjuring up some memories of Kamau & Adarius Bowman for Glenn!
  8. As long as he gets them championships. If he doesn't win in Cleveland, then they might look at those championships he won in Miami and think those should/could have been theirs if he had stayed there in the 1st place.
  9. I think you're exaggerating just a touch there Mike. I mean...come on. It's obviously going to be 840 - 3 because that's 1 touchdown every 30 seconds. You must be forgetting that Bryant Turner is back in the line-up tonight.
  10. Agreed. I haven't been to any of those 3 places in years ( I don't actually know anyone who has either) so I'm amazed they are still open - Foody Goody more than Royal Fork or Cathay House. The number of health violations Foody Goody & Cathay House have been hit with over the years is staggering, you could not pay to eat there. Mongos is fantastic... my only complaint is the layout (at both Regent & Kenaston). If you go at a peak time, the line can snake around the food bars right to the front doors. That's what happened the last time I went, we couldn't tell which line was for food and which line was just people waiting to be seated. I guess that's a good problem for them to have since it means they are doing a lot of business, but it also means a loss of business (we went elsewhere because we didn't want to wait in those kinds of lines).
  11. There's the Royal Fork Buffet and Foody Goody Chinese buffet that are both still alive & kicking in Transcona.
  12. Drew Edwards says it due to the cost, logistics & timing. He's also saying there's a good chance the new stadium won't be ready until the Labour Day game. http://scratchingpost.thespec.com/2014/07/news-and-analysis-on-the-stadium-delay.html
  13. They aren't going with temp seating so the seating for the games at MAC will only be 6000. Not going to be pretty considering that only accommodates half of their season ticket holders.
  14. I hope the guy who wrote those doesn't live in Saskatchewan or he's going to come home to a driveway full of manure! "We won't know until around Labour Day if this team is for real, but how great for the league's best fans is this?"
  15. Removed Cornish due to concussion issues. Let's go with Grigbsy.
  16. It's owned by the same company as Original Joe's. When they 1st opened S&M, it pretty much had the exact same menu as OJ's. I haven't been to either place lately though so I don't know how much the menu's vary now.
  17. Theoretically speaking, you would click on the drop down list next to your name in the top right of the screen & click manage Ignore Prefs. On the next page you would then type in the user name you no longer wish to be trolled by & select your options for ignoring accordingly. Save the changes and you are done.
  18. Willy did sound a bit "off" when he was on CJOB after the game. My wife commented that he needs to work on his interviewing skills but if he was doped up on Demerol, then that might explain it a bit. Maybe his head was a little more clear by the time they did the press conference?
  19. It's 12:30 and I just got home. Left after the final knee, made no stops on the way. That's going to kill walk-up, especially on these Thursday nights. Vastly different experience for me. Left at the final whistle .. On University Crescent 10:54 last night .. walked in my front door 11:08 .. it was an absolute breeze. I didn't find the ride home bad either. We stayed right till the end and got back home at 11:40. That's pretty good considering it's a 15-20 minute walk to where we park & we live in Transcona.
  20. At least he didn't call them the Ottawa Rough Riders like the PA announcer did! Patrick Swayze last week, Rough Riders this week... any guesses who's coming to town for the next home game?
  21. I saw one the other day on Portage (near the U of W) beside a Panago & Pizza Pizza. It was near the corner of Portage & Langside. I don't know of any others in the city though.
  22. I don't mind the burger itself from 5 Guys but for the money, it's not worth it. The only time I've been there lately is is I'm with someone who has never tried it but wants to give it a go. Haven't been to Harvey's in years... maybe I'll have to give that another go.
