  1. Fixed Atomic's post.
  2. I stopped reading after "We're officially underway"... that was the only part I cared about!
  3. HBO released a new trailer for the upcoming season.
  4. Allow me to re-phrase my earlier post for the pedantic newcomer... The Winnipeg Bombers have now signed all of their 2017 draft picks with the exception of Geoff Gray. Gray is currently under contract with the Green Bay Packers of the National Football League thus making him ineligible to be signed by Kyle Walters, General Manager of the aforementioned Blue Bombers. Better?
  5. http://www.bluebombers.com/2017/05/24/team-adds-four-ahead-rookie-camp/ FMB officially signs so all the draft picks aside from Gray are under contract now.
  6. I stick mainly to Canadian beers.
  7. Depending on their job classification & seniority, a Manitoba social worker can make anywhere between 43k & 95k according to their current collective agreement.
  8. MBT one of three players signed by T.O. http://www.argonauts.ca/2017/05/23/argos-sign-three-eve-rookie-camp/

  10. Dunk had reported it was a 2 year deal. http://www.sportsnet.ca/football/cfl/top-cfl-picks-land-rookie-record-signing-bonuses/
  11. No. Chungh only signed a 2 year deal when we drafted him.
  12. It's a perfectly cromulent word.
  13. No or his name would be Neufeld.
  14. The Winnipeg Blue Bombers today announce the club has signed international defensive lineman Lawrence Virgil and national offensive lineman Cody Speller. Virgil (6-5, 290, Valdosta State, January 20, 1991 in Quitman, GA) spent three seasons playing for the Valdosta State Blazers from 2010-2013. In his junior season, Virgil recorded 52 tackles and 6.0 sacks while earning honorable mention All-America. Virgil signed with the New Orleans Saints as an undrafted free agent in 2014. Speller (6-4, 285, McMaster, May 10, 1994 in Caistor Centre, ON) spent four years with the McMaster Marauders and played in 22 games. He was selected to participate in the 2016 CIS East-West Bowl. The club has also released international defensive back Josh Celerin. http://www.bluebombers.com/2017/05/19/bombers-add-two-release-one/
  15. I'd be willing to bet Teague will be on speed dial in case of injuries or something.
  16. And away we go! http://www.cnn.com/2017/05/17/politics/al-green-impeachment-call/index.html?sr=fbCNN051717al-green-impeachment-call/0340PMVODtopLink&linkId=37687614
  17. It's also revisionist history. Had St.John accepted the Riders initial offer, his contract would have been right in line with the other 1st overall picks. Jones was perfectly fine with the going rate until Hardaway did his usual shtick.

Well it turns out Texas regulations do not define what a downed fighter is so it's up to the discretion of the ref. Herb says one legal and one not so that's pretty much it. The appeal will not be successful just based on that.
  19. Mini camp is over and none of the Canadians were offered contracts. Even if the plan is just to have him come be an extra leg at camp & then go back to school, he'll have to sign a deal with us.
  20. Spooner, Gray & Menard Briere are the 3 remaining unsigned picks.

    More Texas madness...

Ontario's biggest issue is how much it costs to hold an event. Their former boss has retired and he was rumored to be a part of their problem so we'll see how they do without him. NY definitely hasnt gotten off to a good start with mma which is weird because they usually handle boxing fine. I don't always agree with Nevada decisions but they do follow their regulations. They are unique in that the majority of big fights are there so there's way more attention paid to them. Given how many shows they do, they have a decent track record.

There's commissions like Texas or Edmonton that are on a whole other level though. They have repeatedly ignored their own regulations & that could get someone seriously hurt. They are lawsuits waiting to happen.

Appeals are very rarely successful and Texas has a terrible commission so I don't hold out much hope. They might not have officially passed the new rules but they have a history of making stuff up on the fly so who knows what the fighters were told during the rules meeting. Poirier might have a good case though... to be successful he would need to prove that Herb made an error (which he did when he considered the 1st knees legal if old rules were used).
