  1. O'Shea also said the new DC will not have free reign on player personnel going forward. I wonder if he's talking about Etch not playing certain guys (like Sears) or him not wanting to bring guys in (like Ted Laurent). Maybe both?
  2. There's absolutely no redeeming quality to those jersey's at all .. You could put sleeves on them and wear them to an ugly sweater party?
  3. That's actually about as fair of a fight you can give him, if you're going by current UFC fighters. He was on a previous season of TUF so a lot of UFC fans (not so much the casual viewers maybe) will know who he is. Has a nice record but isn't much of a threat (submissions, wrestling or striking). Most of his wins are by decision (8 of 15) and most of his fights are against low level guys.
  4. For those wanting Hall... is he better than Etch? Maybe but when they got rid of him for this reason: I have to wonder why you would want to exchange one coach who likes confusing philosophies for another? I prefer Chamblins thinking myself.
  5. I legit would not pay more than $10 This. And that's only to add it to the collection... not to actually wear or look at it.
  6. The management is just worried about the massive 3 person online backlash that's waiting when it's the day after the season ends and they haven't fired him yet. They are just getting a jump on things to avoid that.
  7. And that's why they say never say never in wrestling right? Vince probably sees this as free advertising for the WWE and knows there's still money to be made with Punk.
  8. Until he actually gets in there and shows some skill, then you can't really say that he can beat anyone. The low level UFC guys are still at a much higher level than 95% of the guys we'd see fighting at a CFC show. He can't rely just on his athleticism because at those weight classes, everyone is a pretty good athlete. That's why Dana is talking about having him fight someone else just starting out rather than a guy with experience. It's an awkward situation for the UFC. Bringing in a nobody doesn't add any credibilty to Punk & people will ask why they are paying to watch a such a low level fight. Have him beat up a Bonner-type guy and people will say anyone could have done that. Put him against someone legit and he gets killed. Other than ratings, there's not a lot to gain for the UFC. As far as the Kimbo comparison goes....It's not like Punk is fighting at heavyweight where you can get by with just one punch KO power like Kimbo did (even saying he "got by" is an overstatement though). Kimbo's only UFC win was by decision a blown up light heavyweight who ran the whole time because he was scared to get hit. His other 3 "wins" are outside the UFC & are against Bo Cantrell (a lot of people believe Cantrell took a dive), a 43 year old Tank Abbott, and a weak ref stoppage against James Thomson who's cauliflower ear exploded. So it's not really comparable to Punk (IMO) because at least people knew what they were getting from Kimbo between those fights & his time on TUF.
  9. On Saturday he said he was going to try making a cut to 170. If that goes well, that's the weight he'll fight at.
  10. Kane has never been suspended before this so there isn't much history there.
  11. They should have gone the Kimbo route with Punk. Put him on TUF, let non-WWE UFC fans (there are a lot of them) get to know him. It gives him more time to get some high level training in & see where he's at skill wise compared to other entry level UFC guys. I'm guessing the money they are paying him puts him out of prelim territory. They need to get him exposure to make it worth their while so I got to think it's main card all the way for him. A win against a can also doesn't do much for him. For what it's worth, Chael believes he knows who the 1st opponent will be and thinks it will be a well known fighter and Punk will be the underdog (as he should be against basically any opponent).
  12. Ralek Gracie might disagree. Since the signing became public, Ralek said this: "CM has a huge fan base but I'm not aware of any top level grappling creds that he has." Even Renner has said that Punk is still new to BJJ but he could be very good (could being the key word). They may have started training together a couple years ago but it would be 2 weeks straight, then nothing for 6 months so I don't know how solid that base would be given that kind of schedule.
  13. Terminator is scheduled to be released in July where Star Wars isn't until December so I would expect a more in-depth trailer (teaser or not) for that one. I don't feel like 6-7 months is early though. I'm looking forward to Exodus: Gods & Kings this week & I remember seeing previews for that months ago.
  14. This reeks of James Toney (except that, even though the result was predictable, Toney at least had a background in fighting and had at least a puncher's chance). Other than publicity, why sign him? At 36 years old, it's not like he's a young guy with a long future a head of him. He isn't even far enough a long to have picked a camp to fight out of yet. If they wanted to sign a "real" wrestler, they should have squashed their beef with Ben Askren & signed him.
  15. If Tim Burke, Casey Creehan, Pat Delmonaco, Craig Dickenson & Will Plemons can all find work after a 3-15 season, you don't think any of the current group would land on their feet?
  16. He pulled the same crap when he was coaching junior. Fantastic goalie, douchebag coach.
  17. Question ... how come you're not all over Brendan Taman for waiting almost a week to address reports of Cortez being let go? That's not exactly a quick resolution either. Or that Taman is waiting to see if they can land someone better before letting go of Hall.
  18. You have 3 options as far as I can recall. A: Pay in full Dec 15th. B: Use your playoff ticket credit as a deposit & do 6 monthly payments (for both GC and season tickets) with the 1st payment due Dec. 15th. C: Use your credit as deposit & pay in full by Feb. 15th (the date might not be exact but it was in Feb sometime).
  19. Nope. Black Eyed Peas in 99, Lenny Kravitz in 07.
  20. Change is good, but change for the sake of change is not always good. And unfortunately for you, all the old actors WILL be in this movie in case you didn't know. Luke, Han, Leia, Chewy, etc... will be in this. What they're trying to do is tie in the old with the new, which I think is a great way to keep it going. I know they will be in it, but I'd hate for them to be the main characters, and I really don't think they will be the focus. It's not unusual to me to not see them appearing in a teaser trailer, in fact I'm glad because that tells me they will be secondary characters rather than Luke and Han vs the universe part 2. I also see them as more supporting roles than lead ones while still clearly being important (much like Obi Wan was in A New Hope), Given that the story is set 30 years after Return Of The Jedi (and the age of the actors - especially Harrison Ford), I can't see them being the main focus. The 1st movie of each trilogy has used the biggest "name" actor (Alec Guiness & Liam Neeson) mainly in a mentor type role so I can see them doing the same kind of thing here.
  21. I would argue this point. Darth Maul's double light saber opened the door for modifications in The Phantom menace so I don't think you can lay the blame on JJ for that one. Not saying that his hilted version is a good idea, just that it's been done before. A double light saber has been in cannon for a long time, it's not actually new, so I don't mind that. I just think it looks dumb with it coming out the sides like that. As long as it serves some kind of purpose then I won't mind it. Is JJ's a whole lot different than a forked lightsaber though (just the angle and blade size imo)? There have been modifications to lightsabers for a long time and not all of them look good, but they still exist. http://www.forevergeek.com/2013/07/lightsaber-variants/

  23. Bump Denmark is up against Dressler in round two. Hopefully the green bastards are too busy arguing about dead people to flood another online vote. http://poy.tsn.ca
  24. I do to a degree. When I bought my first Xbox 360 part of the decision making to get that over the PS3 was my friends all had Xbox's and we could play online. I played NHL a handful of times but enjoyed playing my own career mode offline. I played Call of Duty online a couple of times but getting into a game with strangers resulted in my immediate and repeated death by gamers who were far more skilled then I was. It just wasnt fun. I play games for my own personal enjoyment so the online aspect doesnt overly appeal to me. I liked playing with friends when it was two guys (or more) in the same room. Nothing more fun then playing Goldeneye with a group of buddies. Even this week, the gf and I fired up Super Mario Wii and played through the game for about the 5th time. Its still fun. So much this. Getting my ass handed to me by a 10 year old who talks more **** than Rickey Foley is not my idea of a good time. I don't have time to put in the endless hours of gaming that I used to so I'm not at a skill level where online gaming makes much sense for me. When I do have time to game (if it weren't for netflix, my ps3 would be covered in inches of dust), I'm mainly playing RPG's anyway, so thankfully most of them are not geared towards the multi-player online stuff.
