I poked around the blog and saw the guy is from somewhere in BC (no name was given though) so it sounds like a legit outsiders perspective rather than someone who drinks Blue Kool-Aid.

Being an official in any sport is almost always a thankless job but you know that when you sign up. If you do your job properly you are invisible but when you make a mistake you're in the spotlight. If that's not for you, then find another job.

Yep, people have said this is one of the deeper drafts over the last decade so a high pick last year might not have been so high this year. I'm good with what we walked away with, all things considered.

Sounds like it worked out for both teams. More so for us though because we didn't have to give anything up for guys we ended up getting anyway.
I figure we offered up one of our 2 picks plus #19 (I get that feeling because Walters mentioned giving up that pick) so we would have lost out on Loffler if my guess is correct.

This has been rumored for months now and so far it's just been that... a rumor.
If this happens, it won't be until after the ufc has their show in NYC. Holding an event in Madison Square Garden has long been a dream of theirs and they have spent millions trying to get MMA legalized there.

This morning Hamonic said the request was due to the health of an extremely close family member. That situation has since stabilized so he's able to rescind the trade request.

You never know with American players coming up here for the 1st time though. I'm sure there have been guys who done that in the past... I'm actually surprised it doesn't happen more often (especially in Regina!).

Here's a quote from when Jernigan left mini-camp:

It's actually called the Konami code because you can use it on a ton of other games (not just ones by Konami either). There are still games coming out that use the code, although the "bonus" for using it varies wildly.

IIRC, he was more critical of the team before he was released than he was after. Darren Cameron's article mentions that he got in trouble with Mack/Burke for tweeting stuff about players they cut & how Huff wouldn't put up with that kind of stuff.
Jovon has been much more vocal since leaving than Hefney ever was.
