  1. Not surprising... making the switch from DE to WR can be tough and I just can't imagine he's got the necessary speed at 6'5, 265lbs! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chandler_Jones
  2. I'm surprised at how little publicity Lana's sex change received given what we've seen with Caitlyn Jenner recently. I'm a movie nerd so they are much bigger in my little world than Jenner ever will be and I had no idea until about a year ago.
  3. Once upon a time (like when they made The Matrix) it was the Wachowski Brothers. Lana was known as Larry until about 5 years ago.
  4. Darrin Bauming ‏@DarrinBauming 1h1 hour ago Omissions from #Bombers lineup: S Leggett, DB Stoudermire (hand), DT Thomas, DT Harlan, OL Neufeld (calf), OL Dile (UBI), RB Scott (ham).
  5. Great, now I have Jive Soul Bro stuck in my head.
  6. Alright back on topic. Calgary has also released the following players:
  7. Drew Stafford was mentioned in a recent rumor mill. Good news for us if that holds true. http://spectorshockey.net/blog/nhl-rumor-mill-june-15-2015/
  8. So much this. Alex Suber is a perfect example of this, news came out that he was being released by Toronto yesterday but was only announced by the club today.
  9. Rick Moffat from TSN Radio in Montreal ran into Sam at the airport & doesn't believe he's leaving for good. Rick Moffat ‏@RickMoffat 1h1 hour ago Dont think he had enough luggage with him to be bailing or bugging out on #CFL @vdirico @HerbZurkowsky1. Details Rick Moffat ‏@RickMoffat 1h1 hour ago #MichaelSam seemed rushed, mind elsewhere when I introducted myself @Keithrowe888 @HerbZurkowsky1 so have no reason to doubt him. #CFL
  10. I see Allen and/or Randle headed over to the Ticats as Grigsby is now injured! Cats not having any luck with RBs this TC! Randle maybe but why Allen? He's a LB so he doesn't help their backfield issues.
  11. Drew Edwards ✔ @scratchingpost BREAKING. #TIcats head coach Kent Austin says DT @bbulcke done for year.
  12. He was definitely a badass, and not just on the screen. I would have loved to have heard his life story (the uncut version). Most of what he did during WWII is still classified but he's occasionally dropped hints that he did some crazy stuff, including climbing Mt Vesuvius just a couple days before it erupted. If you listen to the directors commentary during Lee's death scene in LOTR, Peter Jackson tells a story about how they wanted him to make some kind of agonizing noise as he gets killed. Lee told them he actually knows what kind of sound a person makes when they are stabbed in the back like that, and made a gasping/hissing type sound as if the air was being let out of his lungs.
  13. He was a movie villain legend that worked in some of the biggest franchises ever (Bond, Star Wars, Lord of The Rings). http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/celebritynews/11666316/christopher-lee-dies-live.html
  14. If guys like Wiecek relied on a pay per read system to survive, they'd be looking for a new line of work real quick.
  15. Sad to hear about The Dream. I was never a huge fan of his, at least initially, growing up. My 1st real exposure to him was at the end of his career when Vince saddled him with the polka dot gimmick. Once the internet era came along though, I was able to see video of him in his prime and I had a new respect for him and his abilities.
  16. Just getting into Better Call Saul. I watched the 1st episode when it came out and wasn't overly impressed so I didn't watch anymore. I started running out of shows to watch without the wife so I decided to give it another shot and I'm glad I did.
  17. New season of Orange is the new black comes out tomorrow for those interested.
  18. Good call. I think if we signed him now his contract would be guaranteed for the season. So maybe the Bombers give him a look once the season starts, if Stoudermire's injury lingers and if none of the in house guys look good...What?Players on the roster to start the season get some type of guarantee. That's why teams often sign guys right after the season has started. I believe Romby Bryant was an example of this last year. Some guys have roster bonuses, but nobody's contract is guaranteed until after the 9th game. They get paid per game if on active, reserve or injured list, so teams might time signing guys in a way to avoid paying them a game cheque in-season.Why did the Bombers wait until after the season officially started last season to sign Romby Bryant? It was contract related.Yeah it was contract related as in he was under contract to the Argos. Bryant was one of the last cuts from the Argos TC and then signed with the Bombers less than a week later. No that wasn't it at all. Argos cut Bryant. We then brought him in for a tryout/look, but I recall Oshea saying we wouldn't officially sign him until after the season begun.Link? http://toronto.ctvnews.ca/veteran-receiver-romby-bryant-among-14-cuts-by-argos-1.1880721 So the Coles notes version is that the Argo's cut him on June 22, the Bombers confirmed they were bringing him in for a look on June 24th and the season started on June 26th. Add this quote from O'Shea, and I'd say it had more to do with timing than contract issues. There just simply wasn't enough time to work him out and figure out if he's still good enough to play before the season started. “He’s an extremely professional football player,” O’Shea said. “He will work extremely hard. And people will possibly question his age. If he shows he’s just as fast and can get off the jams like he’s been doing, and all reports say he still can, then we’ll have to consider where he fits. But he’s certainly somebody we’re going to be interested in.”
