Bring on the Galiardi Copp Halischuk line

Salary cap concerns would be the reason they might release him.

I'm not sure I understand. Can you provide a diagram?

The Wild Card race aka hockey's Final Four
Atomic replied to FrostyWinnipeg's topic in Winnipeg Jets Discussion
Pacific is the easier route. Boudreau teams are soft in the playoffs and Anaheim's point total was inflated by playing 5 non playoff teams 6 times each or whatever it is. Second round looks even better if it is the winner of Van Cgy. Line the Ducks up, they're the easier target. -
Genetics do not determine athletic or intellectual performance, otherwise we would have a lot of hockey players named Richard, Mahovelich, Gretzky, etc etc and have our scientists all named Einstein, Feynman, Da Vinci and so forth. The only three generations of pro athletes are named Wilson. I don't think that's true at all. But I love the Feynman reference.

That's not how accounting works. I know. Debt payments don't hit the income statement, they reduce the debt outstanding on the balance sheet. The only portion of a debt payment that hits the income statement is the interest portion of the payment, if there is any interest. Those here accusing the Bombers of "creative accounting" etc. don't know what they are talking about. They posted a $3.9 million profit. During a losing season. They put another $500K of cash into their emergency fund. All that means is that they had cash come in that covered their operating costs, paid the debt payment, and STILL had $500K left to throw into their emergency fund. All of this is GREAT NEWS and yet, why I am surprised there are people here that are pissing all over it. Just unbelievable. You must be new here. Welcome. Yea the offseason really brings out the venom in some posters.. See, Winnipeg jets section. That section is busier than this one right now. Lots of great discussion in there.

Big linebacker... More of a DE up here. Da'Rel Scott.... Yes I remember him from the NFL. I always get excited about the ex NFL'ers. Doesn't always work out but it feels like a win when we sign them.

This one is going to OT so buckle up for a ride

Actually this rule is far more clear cut than the previous system and should be a lot easier for the refs to enforce consistently.

verVery reactionary decision making. Scoring is down for one season and full blown panic set in. Honestly! Full blown panic?! Am I missing something? Where are the huge groundbreaking changes? The biggest change is to the convert, which is what, 5% of the game? The change to how defensive backs can play against receivers is one that should have happened long ago, along with the refs putting the ball into play quicker. Everything else could be changed and any other year, no one would blink. Is everyone really that opposed to changing where converts are scrimmaged or is it something else? Because I'm not seeing it. It will still be CFL football. The converts will have a huge impact on the game even if the plays are a small portion of the game, pretty significant effect on the scoreboard which is what really matters. These changes will slow down the game significantly (tons of penalties on special teams and defenders), which is the opposite of the mandate handed to Glen Johnson and his committee. This is going to be a horrible season. Lol so you're upset because converts will actually be a contested part of the game rather than a pointless, repetitive exercise? Ok, I guess that's your choice. Personally I thought this past season was horrible, the worst since I've been a CFL fan. The games were sloppy and boring. I certainly didn't see "defensive battles". I saw poorly played offence more than effective defence.

It's really not.

I believe they go from the 2 yard line actually.

The convert stuff is interesting. Makes 1 point converts harder and 2 point converts easier. And there were already some proponents of going for 2 every time... Does this make it silly to ever go for 1 point? Or will coaches continue to stay conservative? It is a copycat league so if one coach has success going for 2 all the time, everyone will start doing it. And to be honest, that will make the game more exciting, I think. Tradition... Meh. The linemen having to stay behind the LoS until the ball is punted.... I don't think that will work. They will end up changing it back. The other special teams changes, I like. Now the no contact on receivers after 5 yards... I think this change was necessary. This was getting worse every year, with defensive backs basically mugging the receiver. This is going to change the game and expose some defensive backs right away. It is the right time to make this change. Overall this is a big set of changes but that's not necessarily a bad thing as long as they don't do this every year. The NHL re-invented itself to some degree after the 2005 lockout and nobody is complaining about that now. Give it a chance, the changes will be for the better and will not ruin the game.

The Wild Card race aka hockey's Final Four

Honestly I would keep playing Pav all the way regardless. One game of rest... I don't see the value. Change as little as possible because the team is rolling and you don't want to knock them off course. -
I remember we had a "Blue Out" at a Bomber game once. Sold out the stadium on the final week of the regular season in a must-win game against the Ticats. That was 2009 and they jumped in our god damn boat.

Also keep in mind when you make a mortgage payment of $1000, that is not a $1000 loss.

Winnik has two goals and six assists in 19 games since the trade. Pretty similar to what we've got from Stempniak, at least by the numbers.

White Cop Shoots Black Man, Charged With Murder
Atomic replied to The Unknown Poster's topic in General Discussion
That doesn't mean it's racism though... It's much more likely that it's classism much more than racism. Just so happens that certain demographics are over represented in the poorest class and poverty and questionable behaviours that lead to run ins with police go hand in hand. I don't believe there is as much racism as people think. It's not like it's the middle class black people getting shot by police right? It's all intertwined, you can't separate one from the other. Do you believe that the cop would have acted the same in the exact same circumstances if the victim was white, all other things equal? I'm not so sure. Maybe, though. -
You could even throw guys like Harrison and Thorburn into the mix. Not superstars but stand-up guys from all accounts.

Wix is good but don't you have to use them for hosting as well, if you want to use their services? You can use them or someone else. They push using them (it looks easier) but it can be set up to be hosted by a third party. Got it. I know someone that used them and she has no knowledge or experience whatsoever and the site actually looks pretty professional. Wix could be a good option.

Creative accounting aside, $3.9 million in a big pot and out of that pot comes $4.5 million loan payment. That doesnt leave a big profit in the pot like they are portraying. But regardless, doesnt it show the debt servicing moving forward is not sustainable? Wade will use some of the reserve fund. They will make a killing on the Grey Cup that will give them "extra" money to dip into and tout year after year after year of making their loan obligation. But it's not real profit on a year to year basis. It doesn't have to be. If they profit by $5 million (made-up number) in a Grey Cup year, they can easily afford a $500,000 loss for the next 10 years. Also keep in mind that this was a non-playoff year. As much as it seems like that will always be the case, it won't be. The Bombers will be good at some point over the life of the stadium and that will bring more profit. But yeah, it's always going to be close. They won't be rolling in excess cash anytime soon.

It's not a lie. They did post a $3.9 million operating profit. They actually have to divide it up that way, it is not creative accounting or anything like that. Read the notes after the numbers and the repayment of the loan isn't quite as simple as it is portrayed in the media.

I like Wordpress, especially if you just want to display info and not conduct business or sell product directly through your site. It is dead-easy to set up and there are literally millions of templates to choose from.
