Seems unlikely that he will be able to play up to that contract.

I like this a lot more than I would have liked acquiring Bergenheim. Nice move. Maybe we can even keep him around after this season if he shows well... he is only 26 and would come at a reasonable price.
-
I disagree. I think the Jets are good enough to make it but not good enough to beat Nashville or Anaheim in the first round. And neither of those guys would change that, IMO.
-
I read the whole thing. He certainly makes a convincing case. Kinda have to take him at his word that the data says what he says it does and of course all the technical details, but it is very interesting. By far the most plausible theory I have seen.
-
There's been a lot of talk about Bergenheim but I never really bought into it... I'm glad we didn't give up a third round pick for him. We'll see how he does in Minnesota but I'm not expecting much.

Can't see any draft picks stepping in this season and starting right away and making a difference. Could easily see a top ranked receiver or defensive lineman stepping in and playing right away. Any players good enough to step in and play right away are the same players that will attract NFL interest. And I doubt any receiver will be good enough that we're switching our ratio and only playing two imports. If he's that good, that just means JFG is back on the sidelines. OK well you're the expert I guess.

Did you even read my post? I'd argue we have 8 legit Canadian starting options. Lol yes I read it but I didn't need to read it because I have my own opinion on our Canadian situation thanks. And we don't have 8 legit starting Canadian options, we have 6. Hurl or Newman MIGHT be capable of starting but they haven't shown that yet. Thomas and Brown are rotational players at best. Having enough Canadians to start is again coming down to hope, because its definitely not a sure thing. God forbid Matt Bucknor or Rory Kohlert get injured because we will be in some trouble. Our Canadian depth has not improved by as much as you seem to think. It's still in rough shape.
-
Still the same problem we had last year, IMO. No legit 7th Canadian starter. If Hurl can't be an every down starter then we are in trouble.
-
Well we already have 2 NI DE/STer that has done better than him. Louie Richardson and Ivan Brown. Looking at Richardson's weight - 225lb, is that accurate? That weight is for well suited for a LB and not for DE, correct? He has always been listed at 225 and I've always thought that was much too low. He looks a lot bigger.

Yeah that's what I said!!

Burmi can't play in the NHL this season and there doesn't seem to be much hope that he will ever play in Winnipeg again. He is an RFA so they should just move him and get an asset back because he isn't going to sign here.

Elimimian, Wild, McCoil, Reed... Even Marcellus Bowman came in and started all year and played pretty well. Lots of examples.

I almost feel like jasper is a bot of some kind.

Linebacker, especially middle linebacker, seems to be one of the easier spots to recruit for and have the new guy step in right away. Lots of examples of American linebackers who came in and had success right away. Barrin Simpson is one, off the top of my head. JC Sherritt would be another.
-
Maybe Burmi and a 6th will get it done
-
The optimism! It's so... Overwhelming. Can someone be that hopeful? Didn't think so. Or maybe I just know what I'm talking about.

Washington is going to light us up tonight so its probably better that Pavs is in net.
-
If we got Jagr I would buy a Jagr Jets jersey the same day. That would be amazing.
-
Yeah you could debate whether she was ever really a country star but now she seems to purely release pop music. Anyways she is pretty great.
-
Well... obviously nothing applies in all cases. You can buy a cat and train it for 10 years but it will never fly like a bird.

Does the SI SwimSuit Cover Show TOO MUCH?
Atomic replied to The Unknown Poster's topic in General Discussion
I don't think it has to do with showing the human body naked. I think it has to do with showing the human body in a sexually explicit pose on the cover of a magazine for everyone to see. Not that anyone buys magazines anymore. The only time I ever see a magazine rack is when I go into a gas station when I'm on a road trip. Going to the beach and seeing people in bikini's, even thong ones, is different then someone who is pulling their bikini's down in a sexual way. It has to do with body language. Oh, and just to make a comment about kids, not all kids are raised on the internet. Parents who give a crap don't let their kids do whatever they want on the internet. Please don't generalize. Don't under estimate the ingenuity of a kid who wants to see some titties. Unless you're really going to clamp down on what the kids are doing and be one of those overbearing never trust them with anything types, where there is a will there's a way. Really though I've seen the cover I don't think it is a sexually explicit pose at all, just pulling down the bottoms a bit, not like the model is spread eagle on the cover or anything. really suggestive isn't even about how much skin is overall shown it's all about how the model is posed and there is no question they'd put the cover model in a suggestive pose even if she was covered head to toe. This is entirely much ado about nothing. That's exactly what I am. It will make my kids that much smarter cause they'll need to outsmart me in order to get their hands on it. I also try to allow my kids to be kids and not grow up too fast like a lot of parents do. I am strict and I could don't what anyone thinks about it. And yes, I'm sure they can find it at a friends house, but I'm not going to encourage it by being a pushover parent who lets their kids do whatever they want. Back to the topic at hand. It may not seem sexually explicit to guys, but to others, someone pulling down their bottoms past the pubic line is a lot more sexually explicit then if she was just standing there. I'm just saying, not everyone is as desensitized as we are. Your kids have already outsmarted you. You might not know it yet, but the amount of time it takes you to figure it out is directly related to how seriously your kids will take you. Good luck! -
Honestly at this point I wouldn't mind Thorburn hanging on to that spot over Halischuk. He has been playing well.
