I mean, who exactly are you comparing Frolik to when you say he's a sub-par 2RW? Look around the league and you might be surprised by who is passing for a #2 RW on other teams. We could do a lot worse. And Burmi is a lot worse, if that's the solution. You can't look at Chicago and say "Well player X wouldn't be a second liner on Chicago so we shouldn't pay him like a second liner."

So basically what you're saying is you'd be okay with playing a worse lineup this year in the interest of building for the future. I feel like we're past that point. Missing the playoffs this season would be a huge step backwards and the city will NOT take it well.

I'd be comfortable with him at 3RW if the other option is over-paying Frolik to play 3RW and get paid like a 2RW. I prefer the combination that gives us the better team. If it all fits under the salary cap, who cares if Frolik is overpaid by a million/year. The Jets care. As others have said, pay Frolik $1 million too much. And then Ladd and Buff want $3million too much. And Scheif, Lowry and Trouba want their "too much". Then what...? You over-pay for the final piece that makes you a cup contender. Dont over-pay one player when you're a bubble team. You can add Burmi, Ehlers AND another player for what Frolik would cost you. And I dont think Frolik is worth Burmi and Ehlers. You guys are putting way to much emphasis on this silly idea that agents and players are comparing themselves against only players on the Jets. It doesn't make any sense. If Frolik gets $5 million somewhere else, Ladd can still say "OK I deserve $7.5 million because look what Frolik is making." It makes no difference whether he's on the Jets or not.

Term matters just as much as that dollar value But Frolik is going to want term. Who's talking about every player though? We need to establish a solid top 6 and have good depth guys in the bottom 6 capable of moving up. You can't just sign no-one and say "OK let's go with a **** lineup this year because otherwise our hands will be tied in the future." You can't mortgage the future for the present but you can't sacrifice the present for the future either.

Market value is market value. Frolik is going to get paid somewhere, whether it's here or not doesn't matter. Agents aren't comparing their clients to players just on the Jets, they are comparing their clients to other players league-wide. Should Frolik be paid more than Little? That question doesn't really make sense because Little is underpaid by today's contracts. If he was entering free agency this off-season he would easily draw $6 million+.

With the benefit of hindsight, the trade for Mo Price doesn't look that good anymore. They were able to score Jackson, Ellingson and Williams in free agency so they should have been able to fill one receiver spot through scouting or with Marcus Henry or Khalil Paden... would have allowed them to keep Jasper Simmons. Of course they didn't know if they'd get those guys in free agency so not really fair to judge.

No way the Moose could play at the Iceplex. Might as well have them play at the St. James Civic Center.

Perhaps. Paredes is pretty inconsistent year-to-year. Two years below 80% and two years above 90%. Hajrullahu obviously only has one season to his name but it was 87% to Paredes' 73%.

Burmi as a replacement for Frolik is a joke. Not even close to the same caliber of player.

I don't know I just thought Bradshaw was great when I was younger. I thought the APA gimmick was hilarious and I loved the emphasis on hardcore matches during that time. Bradshaw was great in those matches and the clothesline from hell was such an awesome finisher. I stopped watching while he was still Bradshaw and when I started watching again I didn't realize JBL was the same guy for months.

Going to be very disappointed if we lose both Stafford and Frolik. We don't have the depth to absorb those losses and the free agent market is **** this year.

I actually had Greenwood on there ahead of Hurl but I thought people would freak out because he hasn't actually played in the CFL much yet. But I expect him to be a top Canadian LB this year for sure. I considered Durie but he's such a bandaid.

They still have Labatte, Best, Emry, Getzlaf, Bagg, Messam... Pretty good core of Canadians.Messam and Emry are marginal or worse. And yet still better than what we have. AKA a non existent Canadian running back and Sam Hurl until proven otherwise. Gotta love the people saying Getzlaf and Bagg are on the wrong side of 30 then pointing at Picard as a reason why our Canadians are improving. Can't have it both ways. The TSN grades are fair. We have lots of potentially great Canadians but until they prove it on the field you can't expect anyone to give the Bombers anything more than a barely passable grade. yes, you can, actually... skill position players generally tend to decline after 30... while guys in the trenches, especially O-linemen, tend to still be effective into their 30s... some hogs don't peak until their early 30s... Easy to generalize like that but when you look at the facts, Bagg and Getzlaf were #1 and #4 in terms of Canadian receivers last season. Yes they have flaws but so does every Canadian in the CFL... they are still premier Canadian receivers.

Could see Ottawa getting the upset here. I have no faith in Montreal's QBs.
