  1. I have only had a few non-standard ticket interactions with the club. Everything has gone smooth for me.

The odd time I rushed to the game after work and forgot my ticket (when they were still paper), I was able to get one reprinted for free.

Moving our tickets from the old stadium to the new one was a complex task that the office made very simple. Coordinating a few groups of us that had sat together and wanted to remain sitting together was no effort on our part at all. We just gave them a list of names/emails/seat/row/section numbers, and they took care of the rest.

Last year for Banjo Bowl I had one extra ticket, but my Dad was going to be in town with my Nephew. I tried buying a single ticket at the end of our row, but ticketmaster's website just gave me an unknown error. Calling into ticketmaster was the same thing, she had no idea why it wouldn't let her sell me that seat. I called into the club, and they knew right away. They block those seats out for sale because of sightline restrictions. We ended up buying a cheapie ticket in the temp seats, and everyone in our row was okay with moving down a seat. Worked out great, thanks to the great people at the ticket office both knowing what was going on, and being forthright and explaining it to me.

  2. Bike to work day, NHL Draft with the Jets picking @ 2, and then the bomber game. I'm going to wear my Santa Hat cuz baby, that sounds like christmas to me.

PS:  Halfpints has a special beer for bike to work week. Bikey Mcbikeface Grapefruit Lager. Available at St. vital, Northdale and Kenaston Commons Growler bars, or at the Bike to Work day beer gardens @ U of W on Friday. I'm going to be having one or two of those before biking down to the draft/game for sure.

You're right, I don't consider this raiding the PR.  The guys turned down the PR offer and signed somewhere for a real contract.  Can you blame them, or the Riders?

I believe the so-called Unwritten Rule applying to practice rosters is to avoid grabbing guys once they have agreed to be on a practice roster.

That clarifies things. The article I read didn't include the players declining a PR spot, it said the Riders signed players off the BC PR. Not too much stepping on toes if the players were not actually on the PR.

he's starting his 3rd season as HC and this was only his first social?  Yikes!  Get it together Winnipeg! Invite MOS to every social from here on in!  Start the social media campaign! #MOSsocials

That's the first thing I thought when I read bearpants' post too, how the hell do you go that long without going to a social?

I did a similar thing outside mosaic at Waynes world one year for the LDC,  a woman came walking buy selling mini rider flags, so i bought one and ever bus full of (im guessing park and ride) rider fans, got a warm welcome from me rubbin my butt with the flag. I often think back wondering if I should have taken the high road, but really that was the only road

I was there for that one. I am actually quite surprised how well I can recall that, seeing as I was very ******* hammered.

I looked back to see if I had a picture of this happening, and it turns out I don't. But I do have one with you sporting a pretty good busted lip the day after the game....

probably gave him an incentive laden contract, and given how Jones has shown a willingness to cut players popularity be damned I'm thinking Durant didn't have a leg to stand on in the negotiations

His one weakness. Achilles Heel even.

And ditto on the restructuring. Total amount is probably very close to the same, but we all know Tamen loved to have up front money in his contracts. Word on the street was close to 50% of that $450 on the old contract could have been paid out before week 1, meaning if/when DD goes on IR again, the riders get very little cap relief. With the new deal, any time spent on the long term IR for DD means the stubble jumpers will have money to pay his replacement.

  7. Can someone explain to me why the stage is going there? Wasn't it an excuse to cover up the poor ticket sales a couple of months ago?

That is one rumor, yes. I think it is the main reason, but the club is going with the message that having a stage on the field wouldn't give as good sight lines for the concert for each seat as opposed to having it in one end zone.

There is also the rumor that the way the stadium is built, that it wasn't feasible to get a stage setup and removed quick enough during half time, but I don't believe that one as much.

  8. Glenn is worth way more than Nichols for the rest of the year. BC or Hamilton could both be kicking the tires on a trade for him. Also, Sask isn't in a situation where their hand is forced to trade him, it's a sellers market and they should get as much for him as they can. Maybe not a 1st rounder, but 3rd with conditions that could take it to second or first round based on starts or wins in post season?

  9. Just found out the other day that Shomi is available without a TV subscription now. If you toss in your credit card, you can get a 1 month trial ($9/month after). Wife and I checked it out last night, doesn't have as much as netflix, but it has different stuff.

We'll give it a shot and maybe keep it around if we can share it with her parents, as we have been using their netflix for a few years already......
