It will be interesting to see, if he follows through on the quote what free agent players he selects at other positions. A slightly different stance from saying he won't select any pending free agent. As an aside, anyone skeptical about his ability to build a team as a winner? He struggled mightily and had the budget to acquire players as Hamilton was very active in trading and free agency at the time during his stint there.

Been there. The team players he brought in were immediate upgrades over the ones Mack had in previously.

I'd give it a few more moves before you say he's got a very good grasp on things. Not saying he doesn't, but let's see how things shake out a bit, eh? He is saying all the right things. Give me ONE move he's made since mack was fired that was bad.

We're in very good hands. It was evident when he took over in August he had a VERY good grasp on things, and it's more evident now.

As Mike said, I think Jarious Jackson would make the most sense given his ties to the organization.

I honestly feel if he wasn't bilingual he'd be a side judge or some other referee. Certainly not a head ref.

There's also Al Bradbury. He's a young official & seems to be doing an alright job. I like his work too for the most part.

Good for him. Johnson was usually one of the better officials in the league in my opinion. Of course that bar isn't set very high given the crap that's spewed out by Murray Clarke and Andre Proulx on a weekly basis.

The year that Kavis Reed was our DC our defence was pretty good. So I am curious as to why he would be a no for you? What were you watching in 2010? Cleo Lemon made Kavis Reed look like a fool every time he played us.

If they hire Cortez it pretty much cements Burris as the teams QB. Another reason I want a different HC. Why? Because he's a free agent? Based on that logic (and more logically IMO) it would mean the team goes hard after Drew Willy. He has familiarity with the system, he's a polished passer, and he isn't 39 by kickoff next June. Cause they've got such a history in Calgary and Hamilton and he's the only real veteran option that's going to be a free agent, and because they had such a good offence together in Hamilton... Come on, it's pretty obvious who the guy would pick if he was given the option of actually picking his own qb. Walters won't allow Burris to come here, he isn't stupid.

If we can pair Cortez up with a solid d-cordinator I'm down for giving him the job. He gets a bad rap because of what happened in Hamilton, but the offence was in the top two, and Creehan was the d-cordinator at the time, and we all saw what Creehan did here with the defence.

Just FYI Winston is already on our neg list I think the kid needs to worry about staying out of jail first before worrying about anything at the professional level.
