  1. He retired and said F U to the CFL based on horrible he was treated. Don't you remember Kelly demanding him to take a pay cut mid season because he was injured (only after being put in a position of where he was getting hit frequently since the plays kelly designed took forever to develop therefore he had to hold onto the ball very long). Lefors was the guy who beat out Jyles (don't care if you think he sucked but he wasn't that bad) and then was traded to Winnipeg for a 1st rounder... the guy was talented. Wow - You are so out to lunch with this post I don't know where to start, but I'll try. Kelly demanding him to take a pay cut has nothing to do with anything here, not sure why it was even brought up. The offence in that time was not slow developing at all. It relied heavily on playaction and the QB being under centre to make his pre-snap reads - something LeFors was terrible at. Kelly would say this verbatim when people questioned why we didn't use the shotgun which of course changed then the team signed Michael Bishop. LeFors had more interceptions than touchdowns (8 to 6 to be exact) in 2007 and a completion percentage just above 60 percent in 2007 when Ray was lost for the season with a separated shoulder. Furthermore, LeFors did not win a single game he started in place of Ray. To go even further, the following year Edmonton brought back Jason Maas to be behind Ray even after his debacle in Hamilton because they were so dissatisfied with LeFors. Also, in the five starts LeFors did get in Ray's absence, the team failed to score 20 points three times. LeFors also was not traded for a first round pick - it was a second round pick, plus a conditional pick.
  2. If LeFors was just fine, teams would have been more than willing to give him another chance after the season. Yes the offence sucked - He sucked as well.
  3. Tee Martin's career was single handedly ruined by Kamau Peterson. That guy coulda been something... 5 yards past the DB, perfectly thrown ball and falls right through his arms. Play happened right in front of me, couldn't believe my eyes. That's one play I don't think I'll ever forget.
  4. For all the hype he got at the time for being "the best backup QB in the league" at the time, Pat Barnes sure looked like crap every time he played for us. Brian Stallworth and Bryan Randall also come to mind. Also surprised no one has brought up Stefan LeFors yet.
  5. Thing is, is that it would be a great hire for Ottawa as his career as a DC speaks for itself.
  6. Great talent that never got a decent crack in the NFL. Had a few opportunities with next to nothing to work with. Absolutely ripped things up with Ohio State, and it's great to see him doing so well here. It's not often the league sees elite talent like him.
  7. I know I'm in the minority but I'll take Chris Garrett over Chad Simpson any day.
  8. Doug Brown knows more about football than you could ever hope to understand. He is sometimes harsh and doesn't shy away from making his point, but rarely is he off the mark in his comments.
  9. Gimme a break. They are buddies and DB works out in his gym for free. Fish hasn't worked in a professional team setting in 10 years -- and in that field, being current matters. Don't believe all tire-pumping you read. Its friends helping friends. *sigh* kids who think they know, but they really don't know....comical...
  10. Frankly, I don't care about what he may or may not have done as a body building coach, but you ask any member of the Bombers who was with Fisher some 10, 11 years ago or so, they'd swear by him and many of which still relied on him after he left the team and still do rely on him to this day.
  11. Great news here if true... Arash Madani ‏@ArashMadani2m Also expect #Bombers to have Jeff Fisher involved in some football operations capacity with athletic training/strength + conditioning. #CFL
  12. Arash Madani ‏@ArashMadani10m Per a #CFL source: Rick Worman has virtually secured a player personnel/scouting job w/ the #Bombers. So much for GM input on that decision. gary lawless ‏@garylawless1m @ArashMadani unless kyle walters is hired as gm, as i suspect will unfold. worman has been sending player infor to #bombers since august
  13. I'm sorry to be insulting, but this is one of the pointless, if not the most pointless poll question I've seen in my 10 or so years on CFL message boards.
  14. Considering he is playing the least out of the three, I'd be surprised if he is the one that gets protected.
  15. Worman is being pursued for a player personnel role, not an on field coaching role. Perhaps Walters wants autonomy on player decisions next year if retained in the current role, which he obviously did not have with Mack.
  16. He's credible. The guy is a ****** more often than not when it comes to his opinions, but he doesn't spew crap when it comes to rumors, potential hirings, etc.
  17. Annnnd add a rushing touchdown for shits and giggles....5 drives, 5 touchdowns.
  18. What's this? Buck Pierce has 3 touchdown passes? Perhaps the players and system around him was indeed the bigger issue....just maybe....
  19. I dunno, at least 2 of those TDs, the receiver was wide open (like 10 yards wide open) Banjo wasn't working. They were getting all tied up on who was supposed to take the inside or outside routes, that's what the Argos were exploiting. Really should have flipped to a more passive zone and force Ray to make a throw. If you really think that would have worked, clearly you were playing zero attention to what happened when the Argos were at IGF back in July.
  20. Curious as to why you feel that way? Because he's a big fat *******, plain and simple. I don't care if our future GM weighs 600 pounds and makes Don Matthews look like a saint. If he wins, that's more than enough.
  21. Amazing avatar!
  22. Would be great to see if something could get done. I know a lot of people on here were saying it was a longshot he'd be here anytime soon since he fit in well with Oakland. Things quickly change, here's hoping something positive comes of it for us.
  23. Hall should definitely get an invite. If he's a number 2 or 3 next year I'm more than fine with that. You need your backup to have potential to steal you a game, or keep you competitive in a game when you QB1 isn't available. With the right players and system (both of which are severely lacking right now) I feel he can absolutely do that.
  24. I'm not advocating for or against Tate, but QB's past and current both in the CFL and NFL are not shy to rip into their teammates when deserved, and it does them no harm. Manning, and Brady immediately come to mind, and I remember on a number of occasions Matt Dunigan being animated with members of his team on the sideline, and he had a stellar career. If you don't like Tate because of his injury history, or the way he plays - fine, to each their own, but to come to that conclusion based on what's been mentioned in the thread so far is beyond just a little silly.
