  1. Can we not just agree that as a whole, just about everyone on this offence is either putrid, or pretty damn close to it? You aren't going to have chicken salad when presented with chicken ****.
  2. He'd be a fool to risk injury for half a CFL season. He wouldn't have taken things this far if he didn't have a solid notion that he could find work there. Either he signs in the NFL for this upcoming season, or he doesn't play football at all this year IMO.
  3. The team has never recovered from Lyle messing that up.
  4. It doesn't matter how fast or slow he is if we can't get him the ball. We still need O-line help. Then worry about fast receivers. True, which is why I hope people have realistic expectations for MSW in 2013. Hopefully next season if he sticks around, and the club wants him back, he can showcase his talents in an actual half decent offensive scheme, should we be so lucky.
  5. How was it stupid when the guy has been a healthy scratch for more than half of Calgary's games this year? It would have been done sooner had Mack not said no initially when Burke first brought up the idea of letting him go.
  6. Well I guess 4.35, 40 yard dash time is slow now a days...
  7. Good move, with the potential to be a great move come 2014.
  8. Solid hands, tried to cash in on a decent season in free agency when he signed with the Rams but he got hurt, went back to Jacksonville and got hurt again, and was out of the league pretty quick. Had two, seven touchdown seasons while with the Jags, which is not an easy feat on a team like that.
  9. Love Sims-Walker. IMO, he got a raw deal in Jacksonville but did the best he could with what he had. Not likely to contribute much this year I don't think, but I'd love to see what he can do in 2014, in what will hopefully be a much better regime.
  10. Burke is the GM hey? Criticize the guy all you want for his coaching decisions (and rightfully so), but it's not his job to bring in the talent.
  11. Troy Westwood ‏@TroyWestwood 25 Aug In tracking Pierce's plays yesterday, in his 20 pass attempts he only twice had reasonable time available in the pocket. I love how people treat the game like it's so simple, when they really just do not have a clue.
  12. Admittedly, I don't recall a whole lot about Bo Smith, but a friend of mine, a season ticket holder for the Ti-Cats was raving about him to me on Twitter a few moments ago to me. Hopefully he can pick up where he left off and push the guys that are struggling.
  13. I wouldn't say it's the wrong choice. It would have been the wrong choice to start Goltz but Hall showed enough to warrant another look. He just needs to learn not to force things when the team trails, and that will come with time.
  14. Knuckles tweets that it looks like the club is going with Max Hall on Saturday afternoon.
  15. It sets a dangerous precedent, especially if he gets a job in the NFL pretty quick.
  16. The only thing interesting about the thread is that 4, not 8 QB's were included to skew the originating poster's point.
  17. Also confirmed that Doug Pierce will in fact draw into the line up.
  18. One would hope! It's certainly a big window to evaluate him if that's the route they go.
  19. One of the many bits of information during an interview with Tim Burke that Bob Irving had on the CJOB Sports Show.
  20. Definitely was Jim Daley. The team was in obvious decline, and had lost the Banjo Bowl to the Riders, and just blew a fuse. Scary thought had the guy become the owner if his original stadium proposal went through.
  21. That's not how it works. You have to dress three QBs. It's not optional. Not true (unless the league or the PA has made changes in the CBA in that regard). in 2003, the club dressed Khari Jones and Brian Stallworth as their ONLY quarterbacks for a number of games while Pat Barnes was trying out with the Cleveland Browns.
  22. It's not so much that he is seen as the saviour, as simply put he was the best, available person with the most knowledge of CFL offences. I wouldn't read much into his current position having much bearing heading into 2014, if Miller is true to his words as it relates to an "exhaustive" search for a GM, who will obviously want his own head coach, and said head coach will want his own OC.
  23. As I've alluded to many times, clearly the offensive schemes were a big, big issue. Lets see how they, whoever they ends up being, do in an actual CANADIAN offence shall we??
