2002 I still think was the year they should have won it, but man you lose Stegall before the playoffs, Roberts gets hurt on the first play of the game in the west final, I think Doug Brown was playing with a high ankle sprain too... just too many of the stars hurt at the worst time. And the crazy thing was, had Chad Plummer not dropped that deep pass on the final drive we probably kick a field goal to force overtime. Quite the accomplishment considering the score at the half.

This was never going to be a one season fix. There were, and still are too many holes to address, especially in just two days of free agency. We're likely to still have a number of holes come June as well. That's life as a 3-15 football team.

Players I'd be interested in to varying degrees: Laurent, Sanders, McCune, and McElveen

The Riders will be just fine. Their O-line is still one of the best if not the best in the league, they have and they have a good QB. Running backs are a dime a dozen as well. Yes they need to replace Butler but they still have a very good football team for 2014.

From an injuries standpoint, I like it a lot.

I gave it a B+. I like the Canadians we added, and Moore and Willy I think will be a nice fit together. It's unfortunate we weren't able to land Butler, and I don't think Bourke was realistic given how quickly he re-signed with Montreal. This team has a lot of holes, and you can only address so much in a day. I like the pieces added and see zero reason to doubt that more positive moves ahead are coming.
