personally judge on talent...conversation I have with people involved (before and after arriving here) ...skill set...football acumen and roster usefulness....not personal bias.....also look at potential upside and or ability to evolve.....
Everyone everywhere has personal bias.

if he was QB here for us iun the grey cup the last 2 yrs...I bet we win those games....with the supporting cast we had....He got boned hard last yr by Campbell...and has been in situations in 2 of his stops where it was less than ideal inside the organizations.....if how things are here as many claim....he would have a couple rings easily
That says more about how poor collaros has been than anything else.

Said it before curious how we'd go only 2 Canadian OL which would mean starting 5 on offense and 3 on defense. Defense the one linebacker spot makes sense with Kramdi, in theory you get a second spot at DT with Lawson and Jake but the third is then what S with Kelly? Not a complaint mind you but a curiosity point right now.
I'd bet folding money that's the plan.

The CFL Combine is underway in Regina now thru this weekend, although you'd never know it by the lack of media coverage and league promotion. Pity, what used to be CFL Week is now just a blip on the media landscape.
You see where the confusion lies...

Plus they would be able to update their bumper stickers on their f150's.
Think of the huge revenue source for the CFL! Officially licensed F Trudeau stickers and flags from the CFL.

That's my entire point. They value an older crappy Kolo whose best before was 5 years ago than they do a young Dobson who'll only get better.
Kolankowski never had a best before date, he's always been what he is. The point is, if they wanted a change at centre eli is right there... but kolankowski on a cheap contract is not the same situation as Dobson expecting to be paid like a top OL.
Honestly if Wallace steps up like expected I'd be shocked if he isn't retained at whatever the cost to do it is. You're angry about Dobson, fine but you can't ver pay everyone just because.

Eventually though, the next man up isn't there anymore. How can Walters justify paying Kolankowski to continue to be the worst starting Center in the CFL while letting a young OL get away with more of a ceiling?
I'd they wanted to replace kolankowski they could have done it at any time.

So, say Wallace has a great year & then his contract ends. He wants more $$$ like other teams are offering him. Walters lets him walk saying it's not in the budget. That they have a salary grid for each position & he wants too much. Therefore, Wallace's expendable, interchangeable & suddenly it's the same old song & dance. We end up drafting for other teams.
I feel like a lot of this stems from Dobson... walters was pretty clear about that, he flat out said despite Dobson being an Allstars they didn't feel he had that great a season. Sense i get is that the team is way way higher on Wallace.
The guy to lament losing is desjarlais when he returned from the NFL. The rest of them it's nothing that can't be handled.

Ya I'm definitely taking the over on that...
yeah 300 posts is nothing, especially if someone pokes the bear and gets them fired up...
Like for example, where do we rank Jake Thomas on the all time blue bombers list? At what point does he go into the team hall of fame? It's just such an inspiration to see guys with a body like that having immeasurable success in a professional league.

I’d take Rourke, but not in the second. Are we really acting like he’s not about to be a 3rd-4th round pick at worst in the NFL draft? Why would you invest a second rounder in the CFL draft in that, free pick or not?
Those are the kinds of moves Calgary made and now look at them. No thanks.
yeah this team needs guys who can be at least depth as soon as possible not a far flung futures pick.

The WHL would like to be the BC/Alberta/US PNW league with maybe Regina and Saskatoon.
They allowed the Winnipeg move out of pure desperation but it was never going to be long term.
It's a long assed bus ride from winnipeg to washington

One poor season on the field will erase all those measurables like sellouts, season tickets, atmosphere, merch sales, etc. The Bombers will go back to crowds of 22-24,000 once again. We aren't the Dallas Cowboys or even the Cleveland Browns where fans never stop coming to the games. Where they buy season tickets just to boo. Fans will drop the Bombers like the plague & start cheering for the Vikings.
For proof of that, the Stamps made the playoffs every year for over 20 years & until 2018 were the most dominant team in the CFL. They've gone from crowds of 30,000 back then to 15,000 today. Even worse some home games. No one gives a hoot about the Stamps here in YYC. That's the difference between the NFL & CFL when it comes to losing. Most NFL teams, their fans stick with them. CFL fans stay away & forget about their team.
What a load of crap...
Bomber fans have always been there and comparing to calgary is an awful idea. Calgary is wannabe Toronto. Want to be big time so badly. Winnipeg is not like that.

If it was a one off you got some traction there.... but we're on 3 straight years of making excuses for the top paid qb in the league...
