  1. I wonder when we'll see all the plays from training camp that are going to feature Woods in a Thigpen-ish way?
  2. Yeah, big Durie fan here too. Hope his recovery goes smoothly.
  3. Paxson also laid out Glenn with a casual shove after the lateral. Insult to injury!
  4. It's weird that with all the teams that are even more desperate for OL help than we are ... BC, Hamilton, Edmonton ... you'd figure someone would make a move to get Peach. When was the last time a CFL team raided another team's practice roster?
  5. Raw punting yardage doesn't tell the whole story. What's his net yardage after returns and how many times has he punted out of bounds with no return? How do these numbers compare with the rest of the league's punters? Answer those questions and I think we'll have a better idea of how good our punting game is. (Edit: yeah, pretty much exactly what iso said)
  6. Back in the nineties when I played men's league touch football in Ottawa, I wore #59 because of MOS. Always been a huge fan of his and it's so awesome that he's turning the Blue around.
  7. I wonder if we could deal Buck to Montreal? I don't know exactly where they'd use him tho; he'd be their best QB and their best offensive coach.
  8. Remember that the worst of the OL play came with Goossen subbed in at guard. Guy is still super raw. It's not our starting OL that worries me, it's the depth. If Greaves or any other starter is out for any length of time, that lack of depth will be exposed.
  9. We need to trade Willy while he still has value. How about: To MTL: Drew Willy Paul Swiston 4th round pick To WPG Troy Smith S.J. Green 6th round pick in 2015
  10. I am loving the way Dan West is covering kicks. Guy's playing like a missile right now. Also think that Bucknor is a pretty solid tackler, he's made a couple big solo tackles that I've seen.
  11. These breakdowns are golden, Mike, thanks for doing them!
  12. Chase Clement was a Bomber (briefly) in 2013, not in 2014. He didn't make it out of training camp, he was clearly a step behind the guys we did have.
  13. I don't get how this kind of transaction would work. Once the player is released, they're a free agent, they don't have a contract anymore for the NFL team to take over. Would it be a conditional thing where the CFL team makes the release conditional upon the player signing a deal with an NFL team?
  14. They're just trolling to keep their mindshare during the midweek between-game doldrums.
  15. It'll be interesting to see what kind of rushing game Ottawa can muster. Chevon Walker gives me a Wil Ford vibe -- I don't think he's an every-down back that can gut out tough yards.
  16. Joey Elliott had two offensive POTW's in 2012. How quickly we forget... And I'm sure Buck had a 300+ yard game for us at some point...
  17. Ottawa at Winnipeg. Ottawa's receivers are terrible. Who's Henry gonna throw the ball to? Bombers haven't won consecutive games since Swaggerville. They'll regress from the heights of week 1, but it'll be enough. Bombers by 3 in a yawner. BC at Montreal. Yikes. Where do you even start if you're Tom Higgins? BC by 14. Hamilton at Edmonton. I think Hamilton is better than they showed last week, but not good enough. Edmonton by 7. Sask at Toronto. The Argos D got eviscerated last week by the Bombers and I think Saskatchewan has a better O than Winnipeg. Ray will put up some points but it won't be enough. Riders by 10.
  18. I wish that we'd had better games to showcase the league to the MMQB writers.
  19. Saskatchewan is getting sacks rushing just four guys. Astonishing how bad the Hamilton OL is. This is reminding me of that game we played against Hamilton in 2010, when Simeon Rottier was at tackle and Hunt just ate him alive.
  20. Wow, a horsecollar and an (uncalled) facemask on the same play. Nice tackling there Hamilton.
  21. I'm calling it now, redblacks will win the East this year.
  22. Butler making plays with his head ... for good and ill.
  23. Riders have the best OL in the league and a running QB -- they'll be fine with whoever at RB. Picking the Riders today for that reason, although very intrigued to see how Collaros does when he's the man.
