  1. Drug use -- well, a lot of people use drugs and that's their private business. But shoplifting, whoah, that has a whiff of desperation to me, that he's in a real bad place. Good luck to him getting things sorted out.
  2. Yeah, USA, you're doing the work of the angels here. Thanks so much!
  3. Good lord. This Ti-Cat offense couldn't close out a Zellers. Duane Ford, you did not just say "marking their territory at Tim Horton's Field."
  4. Let's not let Rod Black and TSN's obsession with the "game story" ruin a terrific achievement. Ray is one of the best ever, congratulations to him on that milestone and now let's get back to the game.
  5. punt, punt, punt. Damn, the CFL East has been awful this year. Just terrible football to watch. The biggest plays in the third quarter were the regular 15-yard no yards calls.
  6. Just tuning in ... Collaros 14/18 for 178 and 1 TD? Ray 7/16 for 64 yards at halftime? Did Collaros and Ray switch uniforms? Wish I'd caught the Berman bits. The commentators on NFL broadcasts are so much better than the ones on CFL broadcasts.
  7. Hmm, a one-year deal for Dressler ... guess he wants to re-explore free agency at a time when more (and better) teams will be in play. He's gonna be swarmed on Feb 15th.
  8. Dressler is absolutely clutch too. How many game-winning TDs has he caught in his time? How many big catches has he made at critical times? It seems like every time the Riders needed a big play they'd lean on Dressler. Also: what is with that corner route that Willy always throws in the red zone? I think it's worked twice in nine games, and I think the receiver both times was Cory Watson. Getting to be really predictable, and if I can see it then it must be really bleeding obvious to people who know stuff.
  9. I think that Alex Brink was a big factor in the decision to punt. Would O'Shea have punted it away against Calgary or Toronto or any other team with a functional QB?
  10. good god, that first half was a toddler slap-fight. And those terrible pigeon-poop uniforms! Watching on TV I couldn't even identify who got straight-armed by Sutton in the 3rd. For a long time, the best looking thing on the field was J-Crompt's stache. Crompton looks like he got traded to the Als from 1976.
  11. It confuses the heck out of people when Bomber game day coincides with Seahawk game day. Especially that one day they were playing the Rams and I was wearing my navy blue Roberts jersey. Lots of double takes.
  12. The great Bomber teams from 1984-1990 had mostly all-Canadian OLs. The '84 team had insane non-import talent. In the Grey Cup that year we started eight Canadians on O (Walby, Moors, Bonk, Bastaja, Nemeth, Poplawski, House, Kehoe) and then we had Scott Flagel at safety to boot. That's bananas. How often does a CFL team have nine Canadian starters?
  13. This looks like they've been shat upon by pigeons with dysentery. This could have been so much worse. These things are boring and they're not the right colors but they're not nearly as wretched as they could be. With the Riders sporting seahawk blue pants I was worried we were gonna wind up with an outfit that used lime green as a trim color.
  14. Those signature jerseys look a lot better on the field than the powder blue retros the Argos sported a few years ago: (also pictured is Milt Stegall, breaking the career receiving yardage record)
  15. Never good news for the league when a promising young QB goes down with a serious injury like this. Best of luck to LeFevour for a speedy recovery.
  16. My wife on seeing the Rider's signature uniform ... "Why don't they they just play in green zentai suits? The only way to make these uglier would be to add a yellow codpiece."
  17. ... and then missing the FG anyway ... and getting your kicker hurt
  18. Oof, using your timeout on your first drive...
  19. Hamilton looks even more like the 2010 Bombers. They're competitive, but they just can't get a break, they make boneheaded errors at key times, and they can't win the turnover battle. Maybe they'll be able to turn the corner when they finally get to THF.
  20. Gene Simmons has always been a colossal *******. I'm sorry for your loss, iso.
  21. On my other socials I see people talking about depression a lot more, which is good -- depression is a real disease that ruins lives and sometimes takes them. Support is not a cure, love is not a cure, money and success and fame are certainly not cures. Where I come from, people (especially men) are old school and Just Dont Talk about emotional issues. That's not a good approach. If you're depressed, you gotta acknowledge it and go get some help and treat it as seriously as you would any other disease. No shame in it. You're just another one of the estimated 10% of North Americans who (like me) are sick that way.
  22. I thought these didn't look too bad from the front, but holy crap that name bar. It looks like a pull tab. Tear it off while you're sacking Ray and you win $5!
