  1. No, giving up two Canadian pieces for a 31 year old international is not a good deal.
  2. Casual fans won't really know the difference between a well played game or a sloppy game. For the most part, they will only care if their team won or not.
  3. Ott @ Wpg BC @ Mtl Ham @ Edm SK @ Tor All Eastern vs Western teams again. What are the chances that all of the Western Teams beat the Eastern teams again? Be a heck of a log jam of ties in both divisions. Might have to go buy a Sports Select ticket....
  4. Minor signing. Serviceable as a 6 - 7 depth player
  5. Hoping for Connor McDavid?
  6. Curious to see how Collaros fairs as the official "guy" as well
  7. The typical part is throwing an interception in the last minutes of the game when the pressure is on and he needs to march for the win. I don't know why people expect that Glenn would change at his age. He is a great game manager who can with with a strong team around him. As soon as you need him to step up and take control of a game and win it on his back, is when he craps the bed. Glenn is just good enough to break your heart. Good enough to get you close, but he rarely can get you to the finish.
  8. Cornish walking off the field, didn't need the ambulence.
  9. Yes of course it can happen. My question pertains more to what are the RedBlacks actual strengths? Did anyone see them in pre-season? Pre-season doesn't mean much with vanilla schemes and a bunch of players who end up getting cut. And since they don't play this week, we are going to have to wait for next week. And that can be an advantage for them, no real game film.
  10. http://www.winnipegsun.com/2014/06/27/winnipeg-blue-bombers-looking-to-trade-lb-korey-banks According to Penton, the Bombers are shopping Banks, he received an extension and 50k signing bonus in the off season.
  11. I think Renaud has the green light if there is no coverage out there.
  12. I'm guessing some other team.
  13. Vancouver wheeling and dealing today. Let the rebuild begin!
  14. According to Kesler's agent, there were only 2 teams given to Vancouver to swing a deal. Anaheim and Chicago. Vancouver did well given the limited options they had.
  15. I've never really been a fan of Kesler. His points in the last 5 seasons: 2013 / 14 - 43 Pts (77 games) 2012 / 13 - 13 Pts (17 games) 2011 /12 - 49 pts (77 games) 2010 / 11 - 73 Pts (82 games) 2009 / 10 - 75 Pts (82 games) If he can be the player he was back in 2009 / 2010, good deal for Anaheim, but thats a long time ago. Maybe he can regain it with Anaheim. Vancouver has to be in rebuild mode. Can't see them making the playoffs again this year, problem is a lot of their players have no trade (or limited) trade clauses. Limited upcoming prospects and they've really messed with their goaltending future. Could they trade the Sedin's as a package? Who would give up enough and who would have the cap space to take them both on. Both making $7M for the next 4 years.
  16. Thought I'd start a thread for the trades made today. I think Anaheim overpaid for Kesler a bit here, but they need to be able to battle with LA.

  18. It's game day! 2014 CFL season kicks off tonight. Time to see what the new Walters / O'shea edition of the Bombers can do. Game time is @ 7:30. Forecast is 22 degrees with a chance of rain. We invite everyone not attending the game to join in our chat room to cheer on the action!
  19. Agree with this. Here is the thing. When MOS is asked in press conferences what keeps him up at night or where is he most worried about his roster his answer is always something along the lines of .... I don't worry about those things, we have 46 guys who have to be able to start, thats just the way it is. Do you think he really believes that if some of the players on this roster are starting we have a hope in hell of winning of course not. But here is the thing, every now and then, some of those guys who the coach thinks can't start, when he gets put out there, he shows up and shows something they've never seen before. That doesn't happen with a coach who is "brutally honest" like Burke. When it is obvious that the coach doesn't believe in the team. The head coach is the leader of the team, he sets the pace and the tone. And with leadership, sometimes you just have to stretch the truth for the good of those under you. Some men are born to lead and some aren't.
  20. Control the message. Where have I seen this before...
