  1. Since this lawsuit is in Canada and not the States, if any damages are awarded, it won't be anywhere near what they could get in the states.
  2. Used to be the CFL did have a salary cap exemption. One per team for marquee players and it almost bankrupt the league.
  3. Nothing compares to being there live, screaming and cheering with 30,000 of your closest friends for a Blue Bomber win.
  4. Found these tweets interesting, the first being that the KHL salary cap is going down, this is good for the future of retaining NHL players. The 2nd is that Burmistrov's salary is exempt because he is considered valuable to the league! Wonder what their criteria is for exemptions, is a player per team or something else.
  5. I'll give you a B- …….but only because you didn't show your work. But I did show my work! Sentence by sentence.
  6. I don't know what the rule is on the crossover, but I think it is mathematically possible to have a double cross over. But unlikely. Suppose the Eastern teams all lose all of their games to the West. With 5 Western teams, that is 10 losses for each Eastern team. Now suppose one of the Eastern teams wins all of their Eastern games, that puts them at 8 - 10. And if one of the Eastern teams also loses all of their Eastern games, that puts them at 0 - 18, that leaves the remaining Eastern teams with a record of 4 - 14. Since all of the Western teams won at least all of their games against the East, that puts them at a minimum of 8 wins, and better then the lowest 3 Eastern teams. And that is all of the Math that I feel like doing for the day....
  7. I don't know if he gets cut but he's gotta be conjuring up some memories of Kamau & Adarius Bowman for Glenn! I think he is safe now.
  8. A chance for new members to introduce themselves to the MorningBigBlue community.
  9. Absolutely no to both. What happens when the cap is hit, it is open season on all players to do whatever they want? Thats ridiculous. If players can't play a clean game, they deserve the penalty. They shouldn't be fined either. Reffing is one of the toughest and thankless jobs out there. Their performance should definitely be measured, assessed and graded. And if they are found wanting, then demoted / fired. And that should be done behind the scenes and not made public.

  13. Deadline for your picks is before the start of the Bomber name tomorrow. Picks can be made here: http://morningbigblue.com/community/index.php?app=pickems&do=games&pid=5&wid=50 Leaderboard can be viewed here: http://morningbigblue.com/community/index.php?app=pickems&do=leaderboard&pid=5&wid=49 bearpants, kelownabomberfan, and KptKrunch all had a stellar week last week going 3 for 4! Noeller is still in the lead with 6 correct overall, but a bunch of people with 5 nipping at his heels.
  14. The new salaries don't kick in until next year. Old contracts this year.
  15. Smart move locking up their two superstars or are they handcuffing themselves against the cap for the first half of these contracts until the cap goes up enough?
  16. as much as i'd hate it, i could see him in Hamilsmell if the TiCats flounder and Austin goes. Except he is still under contract here. Best case scenario, is he continues on the same trajectory he has started on, brings Winnipeg its first Grey Cup in 20+ years, is given the keys to the city, streets named after him and hailed as a football god here. As O'Shea bonds to the city, the players, and what he is building here, he doesn't strike me as the type to just leave that to go home unless something goes horribly wrong. Worst case scenario is he flames out and gets uncerimoniously fired. I don't think this is the direction we are trending. With the current head office the Bombers have, I would bet on Austin being fired before O'Shea. he and his wife and all of their roots are from here. he'll be back. I don't doubt he will be back one day, don't think it will be in time to replace Austin.

  18. http://cfl.ca/roster/show/id/4931 5 defensive tackles in 2 games is pretty good so far this year. I can see him continue to get snaps as part of the regular rotation on D. He hasn't looked out of place.
  19. It isn't a horrible game plan if they could have actually got to Burris. Hitting him early would get him frazzled for the rest of the game. Just glad they switched away from it when it wasn't working.

  21. Now a days though people don't really need to walk up. They can buy the tickets online right before the game if they decide to go.
  22. Not sure what you mean by rotational guy, but if Morrisey isn't going to get regular playing time, if he can't show enough in TC or the first couple of games, he will be sent back down to juniors so he can get regular minutes.
  23. Its Game Day! Looks like the rain is behind us as the forecast for game time is 23 degrees and sunny and with a Southerly wind @ 15 km/hour. REDBLACKS are in town for their first CFL game ever. Lets see if the Blue and Gold can build on their outstanding effort last week against Toronto. As always, for those not attending the game, join us in our chat room for play by play discussion and commentary!
  24. The NFL doesn't need a contract to take over, they were released so they have no contract. The NFL would just sign them to a new one. The NFL actually never takes over a CFL contract, it isn't a minor / major league agreement. They would simply pay the CFL club to release the player so that they could sign them. Now it is true at that point that any other CFL or NFL team could sign them, but I'm pretty sure discussions with the agent would have taken place before that happens.
