  1. A) where did I refer to someone as "damned ignorant"? And if I did (I legit dont recall that) what was the context? You proved my point. because someone would wave the Bible and say "adultery is wrong, punishable by stoning". And someone else could wave the Bible back and say "let he who is without sin, cast the first stone". That was exactly my point. That the Bible is ABSOLUTE in its contradictions and thus CANNOT be used to prove anything with any certainty. It's a guide. Written by flawed men influenced by the politics and culture of their time. Im religious, so you cant point at me and accuse me of being insensitive to someone else's position on this. But Im also a realist. There was already one mentioned in this very thread by someone else. Ill concede immediately that I am not nearly knowledgable enough about the source material to win a debate about specifics with someone who is. But God didnt write the Bible. Man did. I'm curious how you go from making statements with absolute certainty (in caps to emphasize) to admitting that you are not knowledgeable enough to even list any examples?
  2. What? Based on your avatar, I thought you were Mike O'Shea.
  3. That was well done. Enjoyed that, thanks for posting.
  4. I believe they will each be different designs. The black jerseys BC had last year are apparently their version of this release. Who knows why they were released a year early.
  5. At first, when I had half the screen covered and just saw the helmet, thought it was horrible (maybe a knee jerk reaction to bright green) But overall, I actually think I like it as well. Reminds me a bit of the Oregon Ducks
  6. A tough loss, but Odds and Sods is always a great consolation prize! http://morningbigblue.com/community/blog/4/entry-33-odds-and-sods-2014-no7-winnipeg-blue-bombers-vs-saskatchewan-roughriders/
  7. Article on the game: http://inkonindy.com/2014/08/07/final-indianapolis-colts-fall-new-york-jets-13-10/
  8. Pre-season game between the Colts and the Jets last night. Muamba's stat line was 9 tackles (2 assisted) and 1 forced fumble.
  9. On the post game interview Willy sounded pretty dejected and took responsibility for the loss. The one thing I did like was he said he was going to look at the film tonight to correct what went wrong. Small thing but most players say they will watch film the next day. Just the feeling he will learn from this and continue to get better.
  10. Lets be careful on how we proceed on this topic. I'd really prefer to leave this open and allow for the discussion (since that is what message boards are for), but for whatever reason this topic tends to degenerate into calling out other posters and name calling like no other. Keep the discussion on the topic and a debate, and don't make it personal, or the topic will be locked. A few posts have been edited / deleted. Let me know if you have any questions.
  11. Tried to move most of the off topic posts to a new thread: http://morningbigblue.com/community/topic/4717-duck-dynasty-war-and-religion/
  12. Split off a bunch of posts from the new jersey thread.
  13. Logan007 and Noeller still on top the leaderboard with 16 correct picks, with a large group of people nipping at their heels with 15 wins. Check out the current standings here: http://morningbigblue.com/community/index.php?app=pickems&do=leaderboard&pid=5 Be sure to get your picks in for this week before game time tonight: http://morningbigblue.com/community/index.php?app=pickems&do=games&pid=5&wid=54
  14. Its game day! First of three games for these teams. The Bombers, currently first place in the West, against the Roughriders, reigning Grey Cup champions. Drew Willy facing his old team. Will Ford running against his old team. Winnipeg vs. Saskatchewan! Weather for game time looks to be sunny and 26 degrees, with a southern wind @ 27 km/h. As always, for those not attending the game, join us in the chat room!
  15. I care, actually. And the royal blues should be the Bombers main jersey. I won't stop complaining about it until they make it happen.
  16. The worst thing about this is that if we wear these new ones for 2 games a year, it means we are less likely to get games with the Royals. Do these replace our third jerseys.
  17. I guess I'll reserve final judgement until they are released, but if this is true, it means I'll save myself a couple of hundred bucks in that I won't have another jersey to buy. I would post the pic on here but I don't want to get anyone in trouble! Understandable. We will get to see them eventually. Thanks for sharing the info that you can!
  18. I guess I'll reserve final judgement until they are released, but if this is true, it means I'll save myself a couple of hundred bucks in that I won't have another jersey to buy.
  19. Does this mean they become the permanent uniforms next year? Or they will just be used once or twice next year. Anything not based on the Royal blues will be dissapoinging.
  20. Fixed. Must have missed updating it.
  21. I'm not sure we'll ever see the retro Jets jersey in action. True North has tried to distance themselves from it as much as possible. Even the employees who pick people for on-ice contests are told not to select fans wearing the old jersey. I agree it won't happen anytime soon. But in another 10 years and the novelty of the Jets being back has completely worn off and they've established the new brand ... The money to be made on retro jerseys will be too big for them to refuse.
  22. Which Bomber forum? The one on CFL.CA? BTW BomberFan, I sent you a PM. The official forum is the one run by the Bombers. http://forums.bluebombers.com
  23. They won't retire numbers but the Jets have hinted that they may honour former players at some point. Hull, Hawerchuk, Steen, Selanne all come to mind. My guess is they don't do this until attendance starts to slump, and use it to sell the place out. Same with the retro Jets jersey.
  24. For me it is not even practice. The guy is 44 years old. What happens the first time he takes a devastating sack from someone like Odell Willis. Would he even be able to get up and keep playing at a high level after that. I am just turning 40 this year, and no I am not a professional athlete nor do I train like one, but you do notice the aches pains and extended recovery time more and more. There is a reason why most athletes can't make it into their late 30s, never mind mid-forties. And even if he does play effectively this year, how many more years can he play in Montreal. Past this year? Montreal needs to find their QB of the future. Playing Garcia will just delay that, and I don't believe he can lead them to a Grey Cup, so what would be the point of playing him. Take your lumps now, and find your future.
  25. I've been curious about this too. What happens when the team goes on an extended losing streak. We won't really know the answer to this until it happens, but everything I've seen of him in his interviews and what he says, I think he will handle it fine. If it ever spills into a 3 - 15 type of year, then that would be the real litmus test. Historically speaking, good coaches (Buono, Huf, etc) rarely have those really bad losing seasons. Not that I think O'Shea can be put in the same sentence as those coaches yet, just a comparison for the argument. He has been preaching to keep an even keel throughout all of this. After every game, we are 1 - 0 and now we prepare for next weeks game. The benefit of having this winning streak early, is he can continue to preach this once a losing streak comes. We lost a game, we are 0 - 1, and now we prepare for next week. Saying this during the winning times gives credibility when they say the same thing during the losing times. He was a player in Toronto under Pinball coaching, and while I think he is his own coach, and will always have his own style and his own stamp on the team, the things he says and does to unite the team, elevate the team above individual players, and actually have his players believe and buy into the whole team rather then individuals reminds me an awful lot of what Pinball did in Toronto. He gets his players to believe, to play for each other, and when the chips are down, that type of leadership pays dividends.
